People just assume that the reasons Kenyans dominate the sport is that they are naturally built for this. This might be slightly true. But mostly is its because they train there asses off everyday and running is a way of life. Its not just genetics

kipketer lived few blocks from the school he went for primary education. not a single day did i ever saw him ran to school. he was the slowest guy when it came to going and coming from school. he used to flirt with our college women while he was in primary school on his way to school from lunch. the notion that kenya kids run alot is baseless.

They work harder than anyone else. As kids they run 10km to school and 10km back every day. Thousands and thousands of children do that everyday. Running is Kenya's lifestyle, running is Kenya's national sport. Running is everything in Kenya.
