A whole video showing an ass end of a Firebird at idle? Were you warming up the car for mom, so you could go to the grocery store to get more animal crackers?
@heatman74 The purpose of this video was showcasing the the cam and Exhaust setup with minor Rev.And take a look at the Back glass. And this is my car built and paid for by me.But i do love me some animal crackers
Well i have the slp intake installed already. Im getting the flowmaster Tmrw. I want to hit 350 hp on the car. Not for racing though and Im also thing about putting ngk plugs too
@sraider012 are you going with the cross flow 80 series or another .As i was not a fan of the 80 series and switched to a Xpipe setup which gave some better power and sound along with Headers. But for quick gains i would Recommend Lt headers Xpipe ,And you can also do some Free mods that will gain a little bit for no money at all like Free ram air mod,Polished and Ported Throttle Body and Maf.And also A good Tune can net you upwards of 15+hp on just a Solid Tune on a bolt on car
@sraider012 It Depends on what you goals is for the car and what other mods you may have. For starters i always recommend a good exhaust and intake system for better enjoyability and power
HOW MUCH WOULD THAT COST TO DO THIS GUYS? Im trying to get my wife to bite on me getting my car back. See in 2004 I sold my 2000 ws6 pewter w/t-tops&6 speed. I am regreting it now as im older. I REALLY WANT MY CAR BACK!!!!
@toddandjillian in my setup which is texas speed camshaft package with Dual springs ,Headers,Full exhaust,Ls6 intake,Comp cam Lifters,I had roughly 1200-1300 i would say as i done all the work except the tune .But i would not recomend a cam swap right off the bat unless you had supporting mods suchs as headers/exhaust because without those you will not see good gains.with the set up i mentioned and tune my car put down 390 rwhp with a tune set up for Driving daily
What exaust is that? sounds amazing, and i dont see and ground clearance problems. the only true dual ive seen is the texas speed one, and it seems to hang down too low.
@pepene93 It is a custom set up i had built at a local Exhaust shop.It is a 2.5inch x pipe to single chambers flowmaster 10 series dumped at the axles.Ground clearance is Great,im stock height and never rubbed with a 3 inch pipe you may have some clearance if you are lowered
@pepene93 Well i would recommend going with a 2.5 inch setup then .You will have a little more clearance and a smaller muffler type like a Bullet type and that will help with clearance issues.with a 1-2 inch drop this should offer minimum issues. It may rub if you go over speed bumps a little fast but other than that it should be fine and sound Really good!
@ls1chris im not really worried about being able to go over bumps *fast*. i dont mind careful, but sometimes, you just have to go over things like speed bumps.
i am getting around 20-25mpg highway and around 15 -18 in town i would say.i never really pay that much attention to it.because just driving back and forth to work $10 usually last me 3 days
ls1s get great gas mileage for the what they are ,but it all depends on your driving habit and how wild you go with a build.
i drive the car daily it is my only car at the moment and it acts like a stock vehicle driving it when its warmed up .
Hey j thanks man im still unsatisfied with the sound so i will probaly swap out exhaust again for the 3rd time lol once i get the new cam specs worked out
Like I mentioned to Gixxer...SLP Loudmouth kit. My buddy had longtubes and loud set on a 99 SS cammed and chipped. Hit 130 mph no prob and sounded mean as fuck doin it. Redline while parked... will make ur ears hurt! But its a good hurt..lol ;) good luck man.
i had the loudmouth kit before my TDs and it was annoying. borla sounds good on cammed cars but its expensive. id stick with the TDs and go with spiral flows or xr-1s
SuperTruck1, I'm taking my SS to the shop this weekend to get my Torquer V.2 put in. I'll be running the SLP New design LT's along with the SLP loudmouth....it's already loud enough. lol Can't wait to hear it with the cam....cops gonna have fun writing me up with sound ordinances. lol I will put up a vid once I get the cam in.
Dude, you will go insane. Until last year I was running my Z28 with this cam, Pacesetter LT headers, off-road y, and the SLP loudmouth. I wanted to shoot myself through the ears after 30 minutes of driving. The worst part is that the car was too damn loud to go through a drive-thru!
If you check through my vids in my profile, you'll see three of my Z28 running that set-up.
Yeah man, I'll have to check out your vids with that setup. Personally, I like the loud, raspy, rough idle. It sounds mean...and the Torquer V.2 can back it up with performance. Of course, I will normally be taking the car out only on the weekends.
If you have a daily driver, it isn't so bad. I had a daily driver for a while and was cool with the noise every once in a while. Then I had to daily drive my Z28. Even now after I have another daily driver again, I want to go back to stock exhaust with an electric cutout. My brother has a cam'ed '02 SS, and that thing sounds pretty quiet when just driving. When the cutout is open it sounds just as loud and raspy as my car.
@collinsgto if i change the exhaust out again this summer i will end up with corsa or borla and a 3 inch x pipe instead of the 2.5 i have now.I always wanted to go bigger with my x pipe just for a deeper sound also.

either the TSP tsunami cam or have Pred-z or patrick G spec out a custom cam a little bigger than wha ti have now.

bullets are cool...Flows will help vacuum exhaust from the motor increasing power. SLP Loudmouth setup is also a beautiful setup.
