Hey man your probably the best guy to ask about the 900 series chassis. I'm thinking of getting a 960 sedan, gutting the 3L odd V6. Would a 20V 2.5 S70/ 850 n/a motor bolt right up?

I'm after a non-turbo, needs to be brisk, like 0-60 miles in 5 seconds. I tuned my S70's N/a 20V to be just under 180 fwhp (Atleast 200 crank) but I hate that I can't drift with it, hence wanting rwd (Did plan on making the S70 rwd with XC parts, but way too expensive).

MAIN QUESTION, will a 960 drift on 230 rwhp?

@NorkiddExo The 960 dont have a V6 engine, it has a straight 6 engine.

Yes the 20v engine will fit from any s/v70 and 850. The same engine mounts, and if it has a m90 "white engine bolt ffitting" the engine will fit straight on. If its a m90 tranny from a B23/230 it will not fit.

960 is a very heavy car, weighting over 1600 kilograms, drift, yeah it could drift, but its really easy to tune a T5 engine to over 270hp

I hate ignorant people like you who have no idea what blow off valves do! If you did know their purpose, you'd realize that it's not only the sound that makes people to install them, it's the release of pressure and riddance of surge.... Even though I hear a crazy boost surge in this car.

@catatafish100 The amount of cylinders doesn't have shit to do with it. After the gas is let off the throttle body's plate closes while boost is still being built. It has to go somewhere or else bad things can happen. If he has a S/C with a bov it is definately a centrifugal supercharger setup. They require a way to vent even even at idle as they are still building boost.

@oceanspirit Clearly a supercharger as you indicated. You can see that it's a centrifugal blower near the beginning under the hood and you can hear the gear whine when it moves into the garage. I have a turbo car, and this is NOT a turbo. Mr. mirikidd is confused by the BOV. Great car. I want one now. Next mirikidd will go to my videos and tell me my 5.0 is a supercharger and not a turbo since you can't hear the BOV.

@XxUnknownxX8 Turbo diesel build isnt that expensive, either is the v8, but you need a engine, customfit transmission and wire-harness, takes a lot of time, you need to almost customfit everything, the easy engine is the 5cyl volvo diesel, a lot of people fit T5 engines into the 7/900 series. Watch out the site Turbobricks and you find a lot!

There's a guy about a half hours from where I live that builds V8 Conversion kits for them. I have a friend that built a 240 with a blown Chevy 350 motor. He did it all with a conversion kit from that guy. Wiring harness, motor mounts drive shaft ect.

It can be done if you put a lot of time and money on making a new chassie for the car and make it rwd. maby with little less mods you can put in a volvo v8 from the xc90 into it or the volvo s80 but still a lot of work and money involved.
