  • Oh, brings back memories of my dad playing this for me when I was just a youngin...

  • Oh shut the hell up, quit arguing and enjoy the music

  • DAT BASS.

  • I generally prefer older music from the 60s and 70s etc. but I must say, people that think music is horrible nowadays must not have listened to the amazingness that is Tool. Amazing band.

  • whenever i ring a doorbell i try to keep this beat (i get yelled at alot at friends houses)

  • N I G G E R S

  • @1Foggia wadamel0n

  • I love tool lyrics. They always leave my trying to figure out the meaning of them. I am so lost when it comes to this song... Someone wanna help me out here XD

  • @WhoForgot2Flush

Personally, I think it's about losing communication with an acquaintance or loved one and suffering the consequences of it. I don't necessarily believe it only applies to people who have cut each other out of their lives. I think it applies to anyone who cannot properly convey their feelings/beliefs/thoughts and those who don't listen. For instance, my mother and father still "talk" but my dad doesn't listen worth sh*t, which has caused their marriage to essentially fall apart.

  • Tool must suck at puzzles

  • yeah the music is great but is anyone paying attention to the lyrics and what he is saying? where has the communication and oneness gone.....?

  • This song is magical when you're stoned.

  • Oh shit, I am so dumb. >.<

I've listened to this song a thousand times, and I still can't ntell what it's about. D:

  • @jinjoscar It's about a division in something notably the church of Christianity. How it's splintered into so many separated divisions of the same religion.

  • I like how some of the lyrics sound like the ravings of a madman. "I KNOW THE PIECES FIT!".

It also sounds like the anthem of the paranoid conspiracy theorists.

  • Tool is one of the main reasons I picked up the bass.

  • the new tetris theme song

  • rage against the machine brought me here!!!!

  • @vizualkei777 I totally agree with you on your comment. And :D along with a perfect circle the leadsingerz the shit :D have a good day :)

  • guitar hero brought me here...

  • Cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any sense of compassion = 0.o

  • how can people dislike Tool? this is the greatest rock band ever, fucking seriously...

  • holy fuck 74 comments since i started viewing. and going up. dam this vidos popular or somebodys having an arguement lol.

  • I used to always change the radio when I heard this song, but it latched on to me and kept GROWING until I came to like it...damn. Can't escape awesomeness, I suppose.

  • tetris rage inspiired this song

  • Mysterium Coniunctionis by Carl Jung read it Wikipedia Tool Aenima you'll see his name - hint hint

    ; )

  • @jameslefeber69636 carl jung has a huge influence over alot of tool work. forty six and 2's lyrics are about the shadow and the ego

  • LIKE if you looked this song up because the lyrics perfectly encapsulate a similar experience you've had or are currently undergoing

  • WOW their songs are always awesome .. and the guitar playing in this song is sooo amazing

  • this song is triped out when Your stoned off of kush

  • LIKE IF YOU LISTENED TO THIS SONG JUST TO HEAR THE AWESOME BASS WORK.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 do you play any instraments? i play bass lol

  • @mromgi4got Yep. I play drums. Been playing drums since I was 5. I am now almost 21, so that is almost 16 years. Cool that you play bass. I just love the bass work that tool does. Especially how they play alot of drop tune songs.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 nice... that's a really long time

  • @mromgi4got Yea, man. I love playin the drums. It's my passion. I won't quit till I'm dead.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 well thats good... i used to play a little drums but wasnt my thing.

  • @nsrailfann4life91

    Nah, I came for Brad

  • @nsrailfann4life91 DISLIKE BECAUSE I TYPED IN CAPS!!!! seriously guys.... really? when did music become about likes and not about.... well.... music?

  • @ryedain Seriously? The comment was made for fun. I am a drummer so trust me when I say that I know about music. Take a joke, dude. Seriously. Also, last time I checked a BASS GUITAR has something to do with music. They didn't like that comment so much because it was in CAPS, they like it because it COMPLIMENTS the BASS WORK in this song. That is why.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 Knowing an how to play doesn't mean your comment was about the music. There's just no point in typing in caps and begging for likes. That's what I was saying. By the way I'm a bassist... (so trust me I know about music)

  • @ryedain When did I say that because I play, that my comment was about music? I said "last time I checked a BASS GUITAR has something to do with music.". I was not "begging for likes" as you call it either. I was simply trying to see how many others enjoyed the excellent bass work in this video. Why we are having such a dumb debate? I have no idea, but it is senseless. If you misconcepted the meaning of my comment, that is not my fault. Good day.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 not to be a b*tch, but just the fact that you had to say "why are we having such a dumb debate?" means that you should just not comment and ignore them. The fact that you replied means that you are continuing the "dumb debate"

  • @QueenOfTheDeck That is why the last comment I wrote to him said "Good day". To let him know I am walking away....

  • @nsrailfann4life91 I've got to say it all sounds pretty awesome.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 the bass lines in The Pot are so much better xD

  • @JobForaBlackDahlia

hell fuck no there not u dont know shit this is the greatest bass riff ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Which album is this from

  • @JDgustav1 Lateralus

  • GAWD, do I love the guitar here<3

  • @DoctorCubone The mixture of bass and guitar in this song is amazing

  • M0:00RE

  • Step up your game haters, step it the fuck up.

  • 27 people are pointing their middle fingers.

  • I heart these lyrics :)

  • damn..I love this song so much..it makes my eyes turn red and wet...

  • What a break up song, if youve loved and lost, you know. Possibly the best bass line in history too.

  • Just thinking.

  • Does this song sing our future? The days after the so called "apocalypse"? Is this a reminder?

  • Goin to see tool tonight!!!!!!!!!!!! cant fucking wait

  • How to piss off most tool fans. Are they that band from guitar hero?

  • @FistOfDisturbed They are?!!!!!!! ^^

  • @FistOfDisturbed No they are the band from the O.T.O.

  • @FistOfDisturbed word. but I'm kinda glad they got some people interested due to being on that dumb game.

  • 27 people have lost all ability to navigate appropriately with their mouse.

  • I meant for my previous statement to be a reply to @ComfortablyStoned It was a reply to a different song my mistake I am not feeling well with a high temp.

  • Very few songs collaborate <~~~(Spell check that for me.) harmony, anger, gothic, hypnotic, message. I can almost see perfection in this.

  • I have been listening to tool ever since they first came out and even when they split up because of the contract company disputes. Then most of the band formed "A Perfect Circle". Everyone that knows me knows that I always have been a big follower.Maynard James Keenan kept everyone going until the contract was up to where they can rejoin again. He is one lyrical genius and understands a lot of philosophies. "Awesome".

  • I think that this song is about marriage and watching relations fall apart when they used to be so in love, the bible calls the body a temple and he talks about wanting to point the finger at the other, even though its no ones fault

  • BOOM!

  • Most unique band ever.

  • from what i can understand in this song, maynard keating is singing about tetris

  • @lugnut754839 it is true

  • It's a popular misconception to believe that this song is about Tetris. He's actually talking about Jenga.

  • @Kannebas What. Are you serious??

  • oh you went to the saturday show? i was there on friday it was epic

  • "and that dubstep shit", :(, I like dubstep and tool equally.

  • @65noodles Check out a band called Mastodon

  • Seeing them in concert in about 3 hours can't wait!

  • just got back from the show in reno the opener for their 2012 tour. they played this right before their closer aenema. eat your hearts out, the best show I have ever seen

  • @trailertrashrnr really? i just got back to from that concert. That was so amazing with all those graphics huh? I was so surprised huh awesome they sound live. No one can really sing live anymore without the help of electronics.

  • pure poetry!

  • from @3.16 the song takes me to an utopia. I wish It's always night when i listen it. an i close my eyes.

  • I meant Mastisyahu

  • @65noodles if you want good metal try SOAD(System of a Down) or Five Finger DeathPunch For rock try Killswitch engage or Avenged Sevenfold just a lil extra good regae is Matisyu, Sublime, Citizen Cope

  • @viewer123abc Ehhh, I agree with SOAD and A7x (they're metal btw), all the way, but not Five Finger Death Punch. Do you listen to Disturbed, Iron Maiden, or Metallica?

  • 26 people didn't know the pieces fit

  • @codepoke122 27

  • sounds like someone had an Armagedon break up

  • There is absolutly awsome music outhere, who ever thinks they can sit and wait for it are the ones who prevent it from travelling !

  • Tool. Awesome. One of the last bands to come out of the last good generation of music (early 2000's) Music is no longer organic and I refuse to listen to anything produced after the year 2006. Rock on rockers.

  • @65noodles thats not necessarily true, just listen to metal or rock bands, avoid country and pop music and that dubstep shit. youll find great music past 2006, such as Tool's next future album

  • @goidman. Yup, Staind just came out with a new album, way harder than their last one.

  • @goidman Dubstep is garbage, i mean whatkind of name s Skrillex

  • @MetalGamesProduction Ask Skillet. I bet they're pissed about it.

  • @goidman I agree with you, but dubstep isn't as bad as everyone seems to think...as long as it has pieces of Korn in it :P

  • @dbzluva987654321 Agree.

  • @goidman what album man? are you bein serious

  • @chargercolt3 check wiki, they apparently have a new album planed for 2012.

  • @goidman I don't know I like dubstep. I do agree though that certain genres of music do seem to be getting suckish.

  • @goidman Some great music; I've heard many others that just... Well, that just suck in my opinion. I don't much care for many new-rock bands, I'd probably like it better, but none of it is original. I guess that's the same for every generation, but it seems that they'd rather take from modern artists, than than older artists such as Pink Floyd, and the Beatles.... (When I say take, I don't mean rip off. I mean use techniques.)

  • @goidman hey bro dubstep i awsome just like tool, they can coexist... not with jb and lady gaga

  • @goidman dubstep is better than this metal or what ever you call it

  • @goidman That is true. But there is some really bad Metal bands out there (I.E: most Metalcore)

  • @Swissjar549 not all metalcore is bad

  • @systemofachemicalnir I understand this, hence the reason why I said MOST Metalcore bands.

  • @goidman why no dubstep? I love Tool, but to single out other forms of music makes you a hater and an asshole. Open your mind, and ears, to new music, please...

  • @goidman One of my favorite genera has become so stream lined and popular, that it has to accommodate a large crowed of ignorant generation. Sadly enough I belong to this generation... I wish I didn't.

Dubstep used to be about being organic and it was never about "crazy drops" or "dirty bass lines". I'd say even living in America, the Americans were the ones who really messed up one of my favorite genera. I miss the emotion...

    Skream - Organic

Nosaj thing - night crawler, or IOIO

  • @65noodles ..then you obviously don't know where to look ;D

  • @65noodles lol stay away from pop, rap and that screamo garbage it's all cliched, Tool's putting out new music late 2012 I think.

  • @65noodles

if were talking about rock, give the bands from bowling green a chance

if were talking about metal, go listen to Mastodon

  • @65noodles justin bieber may I mention to make your point?

  • @65noodles Try Opeth. :D

  • @65noodles Try System of a Down, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Iron Maiden, and Metallica. All are still playing and I think you will be happily surprised. (= You've heard Metallica already, I'm sure.

  • @65noodles technically Tool originates from much earlier, but I tend to agree with you to a point. However, do not be afraid of going outside what you normal like to find good music. I guarantee that if you looked hard enough, you would be able to find something worth listening too in a genre that you would probably say everything sucks. The trick is to actualy be motivated enough to go and find it. haha.

  • @65noodles This is crazy. I agree with you that there is a lot of crap on the radio now, but at the same time, I have heard some pretty great songs within the past 6 years that has actually aroused me due to how good it was.

  • @65noodles narrow mindness at its finest

  • @65noodles Not true at all, hippy.

  • @65noodles what about 5fdp

  • @65noodles listen to Triggerfinger, Radio Moscow and Red Fang! Really good music!

  • @hammettfcb Redfang is the shit.. haven't heard the others

  • @kaosilus listen to "I'm coming (for you)" and "First Taste" from Triggerfinger. Let me know what you think about it ;)

  • @hammettfcb wow thanks.. these songs rock

  • @kaosilus spread the word :p

  • @65noodles You don't like 10,000 days?

  • @65noodles They've been around since 1990 not early 2000's, lol.

  • @65noodles tools been around since the early 90s man

  • @65noodles Actually they been around since 92

  • i don't recall hearing him say crescendo :D

  • GREATEST BASSIST EVER!!!!!

  • 0:00 to 6:48 is awesome

  • Insane game of tetras o.o

  • 0:14 -0:28 is awesome

  • one of my favorite songs ever

  • its very ironic im playing peggle right now

  • @Sidepiece2 im so absorbed by the song... im actually playing tetris right now.. lmao

  • For whatever reason, the louder you turn it up as the song goes on, the better it sounds.

  • Light ! Bright Fucking Beams Brother

  • Yep its about Tetris... Listen.... <3

  • new video up. finally.

  • like if you came from TIL

  • Comment removed

  • i touch myself wen listening to this song O_o

  • you guys are stupid this song is not about jenga or tetris its about him losing communication with his mom

  • @mariah123waddle first of all those guys were (most likely) joking... Second tool is abstract, it is meant to be interpreted... I believe it is about monotheism... and how it's been corrupted by fairy tales and personal views the same way music can be :) I also believe it can be about the creation of the universe, the divine separation of one into two, the vesica pisces. It's what you make of it man no need to call someone stupid :)

  • @Sidepiece2 dude, THAT was DEEP and ultra true :) haha sorry if i offended you

  • @mariah123waddle nah its all good dude :p we all love tool here <3

  • @Sidepiece2 haha for sureee <3

  • This song is obviously about playing Jenga with old pieces. The guy whos singing it did the jenga and now it's quite obvious that he wants to point the finger at someone else. YEAH

  • it's not that hard to count this song, you guys just suck as musicians. that's why tool plays this shit and not you.

  • tool is da shittt

  • While I wait for more suggestions to come in, I'm going to do my next Tool song and will try to get it down today.

  • @goidman nvm, the video doesnt want to save properly.

  • i know someone who can play this song

  • @CRAZYMONKEY5461 Me too.

  • Anybody think about 9/11 when listening to this?

  • <33

  • this song is sooo appropiete in my life. And i see things in the world soo coruptt!!!!

  • this song is about the divide of the catholic churches

  • @juggernaught96 rofl :D

  • First song I learned on guitar. <3

  • I'm not sure what my favorite Tool song is, I just know that this is one of them.

  • Just play it pretty loud on some headphones and sing it. Amazing song.

  • I heard 201 tempo changes

  • @Sidepiece2 Yeah, supposedly, this song has over 201 time signature changes. I heard about this from a Dream Theater video with I think about 104 time signature changes. Brutal shit we got here.

  • @Sidepiece2 49 or 51 timing changes.

  • @MrCallofthemastodon rlly? did you count the tabs? i just keep hearing it go in and out of 5/8 and 7/8 like a million fucking times lol so i just estimated xD

  • @Sidepiece2 I spent about five hours listening to this song, just trying to count the changes. :D

  • @MrCallofthemastodon O_o...i gave it a go...once... lmao became utterly confused XD

  • @Sidepiece2 It took a lot of focus and a couple of friends. we all listened for about five hours. it was boring at times. but hey, it's TOOL for five hours, so it was fun anyways.

  • @MrCallofthemastodon you guys deserve some cookies but 'ya m
