I personally think the NJO series is one of the best things in the Star Wars saga. I really don't like all that juvenile, canon-ruining "The Clone Wars" stuff.
I gotta admit, im not really a big fan of the new jedi order series (haven't read any yet, im think of picking up vector prime to give the series a try) but seeing it with the amazing music from revenge of the sith definitely makes it look amazing.
If only the empire was in full force when they invaded. Their yuzhan vong frigates and more against over 25,000 Imperial Star Destroyers. Each crewing over 20,000 gunners, officers and infantry units. Each equipped with 20 AT_AT walkers and other armor. With Super-Class star destroyers and Interdictors. As well as Thrawn and Pelleaon. They can suck the empire's turbolaser batteries and weapon emplacments. They would stand no chance. Imperial Super weapons would blast them into oblivion. EmpireFT
Not really, the Yuuzhan Vong rarely have major bases on planets, so the only way they could have used it was to destory the factories created by Vongshaping, and even then they could probaly destory the Death Star or counter its effects somehow.
But the only thing that sucks is that the Yuuzhan Vong are 100% organic..I mean come on! their spaceships look like flying steaks and sausages!! And the starwars feel just goes away because of all the death and violence that goes on.....almost 400 trillion sentinel beings die!!
This should come out as the 4th trilogy in star wars!!!!! Imagine the freakin massive battles that will take place (especially the one in coruscant).The action that will be going on is just unimaginable! Oh.. and the reason why the emperor build the death star and such huge fleets is because through meditating he saw this invasion coming.....

I think the that a game set during the Yuuzhan Vong War would be great. You've got the story, characters, and the battles. The only post-Return of the Jedi games we have is the Jedi Knight series.

This is somethin' random and not so much as plausible because it was a mod for fun, but in an EAW mod for Forces of Corruption, I had the Zann Consortium fight the Vong... and they took heavy losses but took Helska and destroyed them. The battle was one hour and a half, and a Vong station with a dovin basal thing (forgot what they were) acted like a mirror and bounced back my big ships' plasma ball gunshots on impact, crippling several of my vessels.
They needed the alliance of the chiss and hapans, when that was done they would be almost perfect. The chiss with their supirour tacktics and weapons, The hapans with their fleets. the empire with their firepower and exellent commanders they would have kicked ass
I've never been a real fan of the Vong. Reading the NJO novels, I never felt that they truly "belonged" in the Star Wars universe. They're just so different. And I know that was probably one of the objectives behind introducing the Vong--to change things up--but there is a limit to the change before you risk losing the original vision that so many fans fell in love with all those years ago.

I liked Jacen at the end. Also, they were trying something new for a change, which earns themn some points. Also the final battle freaking rocked. Also Luceno said they wouldn't make a game as it wouldn't attract casual gamers.

@Gorshkin111 A rather depressing and ugly story. I would have preferred some good real victories from the "good" side. However it seemed there were only small victories in which somewhere else something else would get destroyed or someone else killed and I began to have really zero empathy for the characters. They all ended up dying or killing each other or some other thing that messed up my image of them in my mind within one or two book. New characters were killed off pretty quick

true, but they arent immune to the effects of force powers, the can still fling rocks, (or whatever) at them, they can still draw on the force for strength and speed, and jacen used force lighning on the vong, really the only disadvantage is that they cannot see them in the force, or precieve what they will do. but they still have a huge advantage over a regular soldier.

In the comics set 100+ years ABY, the Yuuzhan Vong's attempts to make amends were sabotaged by the Sith who then managed to destroy the Galactic Alliance bilt from the New Republic's remains.(After the Battle of Yavin)

Lol, the reason why the rebels won was because of these main characthers (Luke, Han, Leia, Lando), it's not very realistic but it's a movie. What I mean is that the Empire had much more military power and technology than the Yuuzhan Vong. The Galaxy was still weakned of the galactic civil war and fighting the Imperial Remnant, that's why the YV nearly won.
WEll do remember that they could have dominated the whole yuuzhan vong with Alpha Red. That would have been genocide the empire if they had that technology would have done it but not the New republic which is why it took a lot longer to bea tthem.

Supposedly it was said that one of the reasons why palpatine discarded the Republic and formed the Empire was because he knew the yuuzhan vong were going to invade the galaxy someday. That's why he ordered the construction of so many stardestroyers, the death star, and other superweapons. But still, it might not have been enough to defeat them.

I've read the entire NJO arc and so far they're my favorite Star Wars Novels, and I'm half way through the Legacy of the Force series. Dark nest triliogy wasnt too good in my opinion.
I can't remember which book and who it is with but Han has the same argument. And he plainly states that sure the Empire would have had military superiority over the New Republic and had some superweapon named after palpatine, but it wouldnt have worked and they wouldve gotten their asses kicked.

That isn't true The rebels won cause they were lucky plus it was the emperor who was to blame for the fall of the empire. He knew the vong werev coming anyway, so he had a way to defeat them as well. And it was him mistake on the death star that got him killed. thats why the empire lost the battle. Because they lost the emperors influence.

@SternMann93 The New Republic was weak at the time because of three things. One, they were rebuilding after the Galactic Civil War, which ended five years earilier. Two, the NR's were so afraid of their own military strength that they keeped it small and weaker that either the militaries of the Empire or the Old Republic. Third, the NR in 25 ABY was lead by Borsk Fey'lya, an militarily inept Bothan politician.
The loss of Chewbacca was terrible and tragic to coin a phrase. The NJO was too long but had many defining moments that changed the safety factor of the Star Wars Universe and for that we say thanks. Excellent music tribute.

The Yuuzhan Vong series is absolute trash. Although it does explain some voids in the Star Wars Universe the character/species/culture creation of the Vong is borderline Star Trek in how far it stretches away from the normal Star Wars Universe. I hope Lucas' just someday renounces all of it as bullshit in the extended universe canon.

The only problem is that he used deceptive techniques to achieve power. If he hadn't done that, Anakin wouldn't have killed him.

There are two big reasons why the vong are not connected to the force
1. there planet was connected to the force and the vong shared a symbiotic relationship with it when it was destroyed there went there connection.

i agree, they should make a movie of the yuuzhan vong war (although it probably would not do it justice), i love the story of tahiri, the one who was shaped, zonama sekot, all the biotechnology, its so intreasting, im on the last book of the war, so i cant wait to see its end, Nom Anor SUZCKS

i agree, if they did they would really have to be carefull, i think they might not take it serious enough, like phantom & clone wars, but NO CARTOONS! i LOVE Star Wars, but lattely it has just seemed like a sell out, thats why i like the books better

It can be handled by Cyborgs...like Darth Vader and Grievus. And common inorganic Droids are affected by the physical effect from Force based melee attacks.

In the comics set 100+ years ABY, the Yuuzhan Vong's attempts to make amends were sabotaged by the Sith who then managed to destroy the Galactic Alliance bilt from the New Republic's remains.(After the Battle of Yavin)

You have to think beyond the movies and the Expanded universe, these guys are from another universe, and therefore has other possibilities than those in the already in the starwars universe. I felt the same way with kotor at first and didnt think it was very "starwarsy" at first but then i got out of my cloudy head and finally,... thought it was awesome ;)

there should be more focus on the new jedi order/ new republic in installments of star wars today...there has been enough focus on the old republic and jedi orders..and I have just about had enough of the damn clone wars...i was glad to see a better timeline in "The force unleashed"...but i wanna see more new jedi order and see the jedi academy, the solo and skywalker families, jacen, yuuzhan vong wars, kyle katarn, etc. Doubt it will happen soon though

If the Eampire would have stood at it's height at that time with death stars and galaxy gun and all, the yuuzhan vongs wouldn't have had a chance. But the new Republic was quite weak still at that time, that's why vongs nearly conquered the galaxy.

Lol, the reason why the rebels won was because of these main characthers (Luke, Han, Leia, Lando), it's not very realistic but it's a movie. What I mean is that the Empire had much more military power and technology than the Yuuzhan Vong. The Galaxy was still weakned of the galactic civil war and fighting the Imperial Remnant, that's why the YV nearly won.

Your right about one thing. Supposedly it was said that one of the reasons why palpatine discarded the Republic and formed the Empire was because he knew the yuuzhan vong were going to invade the galaxy someday. That's why he ordered the construction of so many stardestroyers, the death star, and other superweapons. But still, it might not have been enough to defeat them.

agreed, if the empire had not killed all the jedi in the first place, then the vong wouldnt have been able to make the stand they did, but as it was, the empire would only of had vader, mara jade, and his royal gards, once they were knocked out, it would have been over, and the vong would have one

I've read the entire NJO arc and so far they're my favorite Star Wars Novels, and I'm half way through the Legacy of the Force series. Dark nest triliogy wasnt too good in my opinion.
I can't remember which book and who it is with but Han has the same argument. And he plainly states that sure the Empire would have had military superiority over the New Republic and had some superweapon named after palpatine, but it wouldnt have worked and they wouldve gotten their asses kicked.

That isn't true The rebels won cause they were lucky plus it was the emperor who was to blame for the fall of the empire. He knew the vong werev coming anyway, so he had a way to defeat them as well. And it was him mistake on the death star that got him killed. thats why the empire lost the battle. Because they lost the emperors influence.

@SternMann93 The New Republic was weak at the time because of three things. One, they were rebuilding after the Galactic Civil War, which ended five years earilier. Two, the NR's were so afraid of their own military strength that they keeped it small and weaker that either the militaries of the Empire or the Old Republic. Third, the NR in 25 ABY was lead by Borsk Fey'lya, an militarily inept Bothan politician.

The loss of Chewbacca was terrible and tragic to coin a phrase. The NJO was too long but had many defining moments that changed the safety factor of the Star Wars Universe and for that we say thanks. Excellent music tribute.

The Yuuzhan Vong series is absolute trash. Although it does explain some voids in the Star Wars Universe the character/species/culture creation of the Vong is borderline Star Trek in how far it stretches away from the normal Star Wars Universe. I hope Lucas' just someday renounces all of it as bullshit in the extended universe canon.
