She's is a horrible interviewer, if you can even call her that. Her questions lacked substance and were not the least bit provoking, not to mentioned that when Dallas tried to answer she would just speak over him. Also, you don't have to change genres to be taken more seriously. Just don't sing about go carts, that's all. I firmly believe that if Alexisonfire wants to be taken more seriously by the "other" people, they can maintain their screamo style of playing music BUT have less light hearted content (aka racing go carts). Just write more generic content (not generic style, but generic content, because if you change your style, you're not AOF), and you will be "heralded as a great modern rock band".

prello1, I was only using the go kart example because that's what Dallas Green was on about. I know Alexis and City and Colour have good lyrics and I'm not trying to put them down. I was simply going on about what Dal said about that specific part. Trust me, I love both bands and I like the lyrics the way they are. when George had long hair and everyone was just kicking the air doing all this fun craziness. That's what screamo really is. What happened is that "emo" turned into firstly a fashion ("tight black pants and eyeliner"= "girly boys") and then secondly a way of life (guys kissing each other, people cutting themselves and acting depressed). Emo fags ruined the fun, light hearted, yet hardcore scene that screamo used to be. I don't blame him for not wanting to be associated with a poisoned genre.
I fully understand Dallas's frustrations in this video. However, I think Alexis is trying to get away from the wrong things. Dallas says he doesn't want his band to be associated with the image of guys in tight pants wearing eyeliner, which is completely understandable. But that's not screamo at all. He's referring to emo faggots who cut themselves and anal each other. Screamo was never like that and will never be that. When I think of screamo, I think of the good old Pulmonary Archery days

Haha, at the first few interviews, Dallas is more calm with her stupidity, and when she is cutting him off and not really listening. But with this last intereview, you can see more tension and he starts stepping it up a bit and cutting her off. God she was dumb, dont let her interview more people!!!!

She's is a horrible interviewer, if you can even call her that. Her questions lacked substance and were not the least bit provoking, not to mentioned that when Dallas tried to answer she would just speak over him. Kudos to Dallas for getting through such horror, and "sticking it to the man" for causing bias in music from the bitter, jaded executives that have ruined music by forcing us to listen to mainstream poo on the radio; needless to say, I listen to CDs. Can't wait for the new album!

Exactly, people just put all these bands into different genres while not realising that it's all MUSIC, and it doesn't matter at all what people call them, the true fans of music will remain the true fans of music.

Is it bad that I wanted to jump through the screen and love tackle Dallas when he finally told that broad where to go? ...In his own polite way, of course, but still, she got totally denied. And the best part is, she was trying to give him more credit than he was. xD I love Dallas so much. City & Colour and Alexisonfire are both AMAZING bands. I saw a City & Colour show last night, and it totally blew my mind. This man is such an ispiration, and no BiteTV interview will ever do him justice.

yea, dallas is brilliant. shes so unprofessional and took so much time asking bullshit questions we hardly got to see that, the guys a musical genius. i love that last bit he said about the review...and how he shot her down. cause she was trying to get something negative to quote him on. well played dallas, class act!

i did appreciate how throughout all five parts of these interviews she asked about the background of songs, it's always nice to hear from the artist on this subject, yes she did ask a few dumb questions, no, it's not her fault, you must realize that she is not the one writing the questions, no interviewer is the one who writes the questions, the producer and some executives usually do that, and the interviewer is the personality of the show. For what it's worth, she didn't do bad

Also, you don't have to change genres to be taken more seriously. Just don't sing about go carts, that's all. I firmly believe that if Alexisonfire wants to be taken more seriously by the "other" people, they can maintain their screamo style of playing music BUT have less light hearted content (aka racing go carts). Just write more generic content (not generic style, but generic content, because if you change your style, you're not AOF), and you will be "heralded as a great modern rock band".

prello1, I was only using the go kart example because that's what Dallas Green was on about. I know Alexis and City and Colour have good lyrics and I'm not trying to put them down. I was simply going on about what Dal said about that specific part. Trust me, I love both bands and I like the lyrics the way they are. I was merely saying if they wanna get away from w/e the case may be,they would have to make the lyrics more generic. I personally wouldn't want that either.

when George had long hair and everyone was just kicking the air doing all this fun craziness. That's what screamo really is. What happened is that "emo" turned into firstly a fashion ("tight black pants and eyeliner"= "girly boys") and then secondly a way of life (guys kissing each other, people cutting themselves and acting depressed). Emo fags ruined the fun, light hearted, yet hardcore scene that screamo used to be. I don't blame him for not wanting to be associated with a poisoned genre.

I fully understand Dallas's frustrations in this video. However, I think Alexis is trying to get away from the wrong things. Dallas says he doesn't want his band to be associated with the image of guys in tight pants wearing eyeliner, which is completely understandable. But that's not screamo at all. He's referring to emo faggots who cut themselves and anal each other. Screamo was never like that and will never be that. When I think of screamo, I think of the good old Pulmonary Archery days
