  • There are some good audio cuts from their 1971 european tour. Can anyone tell me how I can upload good quality audios like user "Neduddgi" does??? I need to know. Then I will put up some Burdon stuff....

  • They played for 2-3 hours, being there back then, some of it was just War, but 2/3 with Eric. Sorry, can't remember the rest of the set list, since it was a way back!

  • I'm sure you're right, Dave, would have loved to seen the whole thing.

  • This music is a drug, a soft sweet drug that fills your brain. Thanks guys!

  • GOD DAMN, MAN!! That's a veryhardworksound, man... So wild!!

  • Who said Eric Burdon is deep-voiced?? He can sing many octaves!

  • Eric is an awesome singer, love his vocals.

  • They should get back to the studio and record new songs!! I can't find a sound like this by any other artist.

The One and Only Eric Burdon & War!

  • r u serious? Your definitely missing out on alot of bands from this era,..if you like this type of sound fusion(latinsoul/latinrock). I listen to war the least out of the other bands i'm referring to.

  • coolest band ever..

  • Eric Burdon is much better than Justin Timberlake!!

  • Justin who?

  • Soooo f--king underated,i love Eric and War together. Its alittle rock, funk, soul mixed, brilliant!I could listen to this groove all day!-R&R hootchie-mama:)

  • I got a copy of this tune from iTunes, it's very cool. If I was in an active band right now I likely want to cover it. Interesting, this live version is better than the studio version. A lot more going on live, more percussion, better Sax solo and vocals live not sure why. Likely this tune needed a little more time to settle in before they recorded it. But both are very cool, I think with a modern twist this tune could be a hit today.

  • You are so right!! I have the studio version which is very good. This band was even better live, more solos and improvisation. AWESOME. If this concert was on cd or dvd I would buy it right NOW!

  • I would love to have this entire concert. Great setting, very good capture too.

  • This were just two clips aired on tv a few years ago.

  • I wish there was more of this concert. They did a great job getting this footage. We at least have this. Amazing, and this was 1971 technology, really feel like I'm going back to another time. They had something back then that seems to be lost today, not sure what exactly.

  • imikewillrockyou, they had SPIRIT.

  • omg you have this song? can you please send it to me? :D

  • Amazing band and what a great song! Tried to find it on iTunes but it wasn't there. What LP was this from?

  • It´s from the double album The black-man´s burdon released in -71

  • Thanks, I'll check that out. Peace, Mike

  • what a group

  • GO WHITE BOY GO WHITE BOY GO!!!!

  • erics looking gnarly

  • Found some good stuff. /watch?v=yTnWDGYhB6Q Eric cryin the blues. You've probably watched it already, but its worth watchin again. :-P

  • This vid is very important to me as this the clip that made me *fall in love* with Eric once and for all!... His scruffy looks + the way he hits his cowbell relentlessly at 03:58-04:06!!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not into sadomasochism or anything... But for some strange and compulsive reason, I wish I was THAT cowbell!

Of course, the sultry sound of the sax and drums set the mood too! ;-)

Tangerine, my life depends on you too, I'm afraid!!! ;-D

  • Well, I'll tell you my "falling in love" story. I remember it so clearly. At the time I was infatuated with Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin. I had not seen The Animals or Eric Burdon and I came across the "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" video (which I've since uploaded since it was deleted). Previously I had thought Robert had the best voice, but when I heard Eric I said to myself, now there's someone who can give Robert Plant some competition.

  • After watching the "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" video (the black & white version with the unusual set design):

    youtube dot com/watch?v=jxNEiZhpinY

And the way he looked as he sang it, it broke the infatuation with RP and started what has become my obsession with Eric and the rest is history... : )

  • I think what's so intriguing about him when he was with The Animals is that in one video he can look so young and cute and then in another video during the same time period can look so mature, with this kind of "street wise" persona and the two images are very contradictory if you think about it. To me that's what made him so interesting.

  • Now that was some good stuff. I wish I was alive to see great Musicians like Eric Burdon and WAR get together and jam. Music now adays is just to corney and songs have no soul anymore. Ah well, thank you for posting this. :)

  • AchillesWar, You're welcome!

I wish I could have seen them too. As well as The Animals, but I was too young back then. I don't even listen to current music so I don't know what's going on today, but I do notice a lot of people on You Tube, especially younger people, lamenting the state of today's music. The '60s and '70s were a great time musically. Won't ever happen again I don't think.

  • they are getting back together for one show in london at the albert hall on the 21st of this month..it should be amazing.

  • Eric at his most dishy???!!! Let's launch a group discussion on Youtube and discuss!...;-)

  • I'm starting to wonder if cloning is really such a bad thing after all...

I'd start a group, but after we say to each other, "I want him so bad" what else is there to say? That kind of sums it all up doesn't it?

I bought a book called Animal Tracks. After I read that, I might have some things to say other than the usual groupie things that I write. I bought that book because I really can't understand him and what happened back then. That book should answer a lot of my questions.

  • We are so lucky to live and listen great music like this...

  • FUCK YEAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!

  • To Eric... : )

I've been watching you for such a long time

I can't lose your memory, you're always on my mind

    Tearing my day, weekends too

I just can't lose your memory

Everywhere I look I see you

You've got spirit, spirit, you've got spirit, spirit

    But I ain't got you, I ain't got you

  • Your spirit is taunting me

    Your spirit is haunting me

I can't get you out of my mind

I swear I'm going crazy, yes I am

I swear I'm going crazy, over you

  • You got what I need so bad

Everywhere I go all I see is you staring back at me

    Spirit, spirit

    I ain't got you, I wish that I, if only I, if only I

If I had you, I'd have the world in the palm of my hand
