  • It's Stetson not Stenson.

  • is it Williams?

  • I just hope Nolan doesnt ruin Superman

  • very well done and I have been a fan of Opening Superman credits since I was a child.

  • Could you do this with the Smallville cast and crew names?

  • @mjparthum Yuck, why?

  • Gee, awesome job done. May I ask which software did you use? I'd like to make one for the future cast of Men of Steel.

  • When Superman logo (S-shield) was drawin into the screena t opening credits the sounds go "WHOOSH!!, "SWISH!!" "KWAMM!!" & "BANG!!" as seen in the 1st Superman film

  • Love it :)

  • I must say , you did A DAMN GOOD JOB on this.Very impressed. My only complaint is on the superman icon, I think you should've graft the logo off the original, and also you also should've used the universe background of the "Superman Returns" opening, I was still impressed with how that was done.

  • @Tsarisgreat Thanks, but as it states it is in the style of the ORIGINAL, not the re-boot, hence the v/o and comic book at the beginning...

  • @coastlinersmithy

I think you should've use the original S logo intro from the first superman and inserted it at the point where it would appear if your attemp was to keep it in the style of the original. The cartoonist S logo kinda distracted the whole sequence from it's intent.

  • i see not planets a meteor u stupid idiot wat is this for intro

  • Nice job man.10/10

  • That was great! Now make one using the smallville cast like that.

  • I cannot believe they are going to drop this from any new movies they make in favour of something new made up by the guy who did the sound track for Batman Begins.

  • Four movie themes that must be heard before you die, or you cannot consider yourself a man:

    John William's Superman opening theme

John William's Star Wars: A New Hope opening theme

    Danny Elfman's Batman opening theme

Zimmer/Howard's The Dark Knight's 'A Watchful Guardian' theme

  • This is far superior to the credits used in the movie, half of which I couldn't even read because the freakin' backgrounds kept WASHING OUT THE NAMES. I give this a 99.75 out of 100 (1/4 point deduction for misspelling the production designer's name--it's "Guy Hendrix D*Y*as").

  • Hi Guys and Gals, I'm looking to start my "Superman III in the style of Superman II" video soon, if you have any ideas of what clips to use and where can you send me a personal message and we'll piece it together, cheers.

  • @coastlinersmithy I'm Making A LEGO Superman Movie

  • The video looks distorted, like its all green in the beginning. I'm running Windows 7 with the latest Flash player.

  • @mjparthum It's not distorted, it's like that. I pulled it straight from the DVD.

  • enjoyed this very much thanks

    machuskers

  • Singer origionally intended his opening to look something like this

  • Hi guys and Gals...

Unfortunately I cannot bring a HD version of this out yet as the file is too big to download. However as soon as it becomes available to do so, I will so!

  • @coastlinersmithy here is a tip for i you do it again sometime, use Arial Black as the font next time its not the same font but similar enough.

  • Absolutely frigging awesome work!

  • In the words of commander Kruge: "Well done Valkaris well done."

  • fuck routh

  • Because it was supposed to represent credit for credit the original, not be a "tribute", christs sake it's not for the real thing...

  • this is the Best of superman sountrack forever....in my life..the child speech that being so special...it follow by a low music sound that is not superman sountrack at all!!! but finaly can be continue to serve the begining of the soundtrack ..Fantastic!!

  • lol it's EVA marie saint, not Eve. good job though.

  • Awesome!!! Congratulations men!!!

  • IT'S AMAZING!!

  • How did you do it?

  • WOW! Your version is SO MUCH better than the actual Returns movie credits! You actually get time to read the names in this one!

  • Personally, I think Superman Returns should have been Superman 3. Then it would feel like a true trilogy to the first 2 Superman movies.

  • Thanks for the comments. I'm going to be doing a re-work of Superman III's credits in this format (for those who haven;t seen my work on S2's remake, have a look!, type in "Superman returns sequel in S2's style)

  • Actually I kinda liked Supes Returns, true, the little bastard kid was an awful idea. If not for that I would've given it perfect score.

  • Let's get on with the Reboot already. Superman Returns was brutally terrible. Lex Luthor was still walking around with a moronic woman accomplishing nothing. A genius like him would not have made his own continent and then just sat on it playing cards. BRUTAL..... Brainiac NEEDS to be a part of this new film series.

  • Excellent job! It really does almost look like the original. How long did it take you to make this?

  • During my spare time through my actual job! Probably altogether about 3 weeks!

  • @coastlinersmithy Whats ur job?

  • if there is a Superman Reboot I'd preffer Tom Welling for the role instead of Brandon Routh. It would be an awesome way to end the Smallville series. And Perhaps make a trilogy of Superman Movies. 1 Superman Begins 2 Superman Lives 3 Superman The Man of Steel

  • so good

  • superman returns in 2006 was a dissapointment....it just goes to show some classics should never be touched.....chris reeves had a presence that can never be redone...along with the score

  • i thought it was pretty good

  • True , it was an hoaze and a continuation of the first two Superman movies , but how did it redo Superman: the movie? How did it touch that classic in that respect? In that negative fashion?

  • Daily Planet "A newspaper that's a symbol of clarity and truth". That's a Bigger fiction than Superman.

  • Tell me about it ! XD

    This is a inanty ^^

  • THIS is how the opening credits SHOULD LOOK LIKE, for the rebooted Superman movie, in the future!

AND to have John Williams version of the score. Because I can't think of a better theme song than this one. THIS IS IT! This is Superman's theme and it doesn't feel the same without it.

  • wow I had no time to read the notes!

  • You did a much better job than Warner Bros did on the "Superman II Richard Donner Cut" credits!

  • definate 5 stars, well done!

  • Well done on this bud. I am glad they kept the original format for the opening credits. The woosh sound effects are awesome with the music. Thanks for posting.

  • If only you'd been there 3 years ago. Just great. The actual credits they used were overly CGI'd and lost the sense of majesty from the original.

  • Outstanding work! :D

R/Greenberg Associates would surely be proud of your tribute to their most famous work.

  • This is absolutely fantastic.

The "woosh sounds" and the name effects are really smart. I just love it.

But about these names... I rather when they come from the back to us, than the opposite. But this is just a detail. =)

    GREAT JOB.

    5 stars and a Fav'.

  • This was done in the spirit of the original 1978 film, hence every credit being as it is! Watch the original opening then come back to this one...

  • It doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

I know this is the original version. I just said it 'cause I rather what I talked about. That's all.

    =)

It doesn't means that your job is crap. Not at all.

    Kay supermister ? =)

  • Hey guys and gals, I'm working on bringing a "HD" version of these onto here...watch this space...

  • Yup mister ! =D

  • BRAVO. I simply love the edit and the soundtrack is so crisp.

  • Absolute awsome. You nailed the effect with the titles way better than in 'Superman Returns'. Your version works much better than Singers. Why insist on using the original music if your gonna rush it and clutter the screen with a lots of effects?

  • Fantastic work! Amazing how much this is like the original credits in Superman I

  • The credits were hard to read, not very crisp, but quite good.

  • It's in MPEG, I posted it before you could put larger files on. Try it in full screen...

  • This is really nicely done -- you might want to consider adding in Marlon Brando's name, too!

  • No way to brando!!!

  • totally rad!!! wicked!!!! super totally awesome dude!!!!

  • That was sweet. great job guy!!

  • You did this on your own?! That's incredible!

  • Good Job!

  • This is Awesome!!! I know Reeve is Gonna Be Superman in mine and every ones Hearts forever and REEVE IS SUPERMAN!!! But Bravo to Routh!!! I felt the Spirit of the Man Of Steel and his all Around Good Guy Feeling!!!

  • Exactly. And Superman 2 (Original theatrical version ) was his "Goldfinger".

  • Reeve is to Superman what Connery is to James Bond.

  • Not exactly, Reeve was the forth person to play superman in live action.

  • Very nice. And the credits are much better than the orginal movie that went far too fast to read and enjoy.

  • GREAT WORK!!!

  • Sweet. I wish I knew how to do this. Even the timing with the sounds is perfect, you have my approval. :D

  • Not bad... not bad at all.

Normally I hate remakes or retakes, but this is definately one of the exceptions.

    Well done!!!

  • You know you spelled Sam Huntington's name wrong. its a "t" not a "d"

  • Yes, and I've spelt "Eve" not "Eva"! Oh well...

  • Where exactly is the tutorial listed for this Effect? I looked all over your page, and yet, I cannot find it. PLEASE HELP!!! Fantastic job by the way!

  • I like how you transposed the slow opening music during the comic book reading. Made it sound almost completely different. =)

  • Brilliant, well done. I like the swish effect when the titles form

  • Was that from Mission Impossible just before "Kate Bosworth"? P.S. any chance of a tutorial?

  • No the background footage was taken from the part in the film where Jor-El is teaching his son about life in the Fortress Of Solitude. I have a tutorial somewhere in my message box on here.

  • Sorry but what do you mean 'message box'?

  • Outstanding! Any chance of a tutorial being available? Hell, I'll pay for the sourcefiles if you're interested.

  • There is a tutorial somewhere in my message box.

  • just so you know i think there was an intended version of this in the original titles becasue the actor who playes superman jr. was reciting these lines in the brian singer video diaries. maybey u can incorporate his voice in this

  • Yeah I knew thanks, but I actually thought the original V/O was better and more dramatic because it was from one of the original comics. But thanks for the feedback, what did you make of my effort?

  • i think it looks awsome dude... the only thing that i didnt like was the 's' symbol
