@ITStactical Hey Bryan, I am a big fan of G-shock watches (i got my 3rd one in 2005 and still using it almost daily). About the compass getting demagnetized... Some watches have a (weak) magnetic field (similar to an electromagnet). so if you have a compass in close proximity (usually has to be in contact) to a watch, especially for long periods it might affect it. This may vary between different watches. Check it out and let us know! keep up the good work with the videos.
Honestly there good watches but they cannot handle a beating, friend had one and in the middle of a training field had smacked against a wall shattered to pieces.
Would you rather get the DW6900MS or the G9300GB-1 Mudman (I don't like big watches)?
-- I am going to the United States Naval Academy so I would like a great watch
-- $100 price difference
-- I like the compass on your watch. Would you say get the 6900MS and buy a compass or get the Mudman? What is mud resistant (how is it diff than 200m water resistant)? And the mudman seems much bulkier, perhaps due to the solar and atomic systems?
I have a GW3000B-1A Solar atomic one in black and orange, I get a lot of compliments on it. It is a great watch! I wear it when I am at work and on off duty I wear my Heuer Autavia I purchased in 1978 while in HS. Self winding chronograph before they were bought by TAG. Paid $144.00 for it in 78, worth over $2000.00 now.
this is what I wear everyday. paid 50 at Walmart about a Year ago. I've been wondering what that compass on your band was. Thanks for the review Brian.
In the past, I've gotten synthetic Timex bands to dry rot, and scratched up some stainless watches pretty good...dress watches really aren't even an option, at least not leather banded ones. I decided to try something a little more substantial, and what watch is more notorious for being tough than a G-Shock? So far so good, I really like mine, and got it for a great price to boot, since it's a little older model and only has tine syncing in North America and Japan. I'd love to eventually get a
@wcropp1 nice Pathfinder, or try the Timex shock resistant watches (the bands I wore out were from a while ago, and many of the Ironman watches have nylon bands anyway), or even a nice automatic dive watch, but they're all either expensive, or not as aesthetically pleasing/full featured as my G-Shock. Perhaps I'll have to get the Suunto Clipper and call it a day. Thanks for the video.
Hey Man i love the G-Shock watch and wear one every day also and i too have a Compass on the band as well and will post a video response on this on a video i made a few months ago
Sweet! Been watching the AR vids and thought, "man, I need to pick up a g-shock..." How convenient that you review it! Great work guys, keep em coming.
I really like my Pathfinder, I have one for years, decided to try the Suunto, 2 months later I was back to pathfinder, especially with the solar power, great watch.
Cool review. I just got a GD100MS-1 XL the other day and loving it so far. For such a large watch I hardly even feel it there. Looking forward to testing the durability and longevity.
@ITStactical oh man what a shame, well its ight, ur still a bad ass for trying, and getting that far...I wish i could be a SEAL without having to go through BUD/S lol

Cool watch. I'd prefer a simple watch with a small campus and that's it.

I have the OD colored G Shock...looks cool as hell with my fatigues. They last a while and I dont plan on getting another one in a while.

The DW-6900's that are made in Japan are far superior to the ones made in China.
The display has so much more contrast between the black numbers and the grey background...
