that could be. it also it could be that he gave more pressure with his fingers and plec. at the beginning the silicon sounds just low, with less tone. i actually dont know what is the cheaper one related to the price...
GERMANIUM - sounds a little fuzzier and more nasaly
***like always, it depends on what other gear you're using, how all of your gear complements/works against each other, what sound you're looking for, how it feels, and what you're willing to pay.***
The maker of these pedals is the brains behind a band called Sons of Otis out of Canada. Check them out if you dig slllooowed down doomed blues. Killer pedals too! The Germ is on my list.
I always love the phat-ness of germanium fuzzes. Bare in mind that GMD is using a strat with a maple neck so the tone is gonna be a little brighter, the germanium will probably be even darker sounding if your using a humbucker equipped axe with a rosewood or ebony board. I like the smooth sustain on these.
I told you these were awesome fuzzes! If you ever have the time or your just really bored, could you maybe demo one of em or maybe both with the blues junior? (and maybe with the strat too, even though you don't like it haha)
I'm still liking the germanium more for the smoothness and creaminess. But it might be a bit too dark. I don't know...

I like them both, the Germ seems to be a more full bodied tone where the Silicon is a little more in your face!

I have number 7 of 10 of the NKT275 OxFuzz's, and it's easily the best Ger. fuzz I've used, easily. Seriously, get an OxFuzz, amazing tone!
