Good review on my beloved hometown....I left it almost six years ago and miss it a lot....I'm currently living in Fortaleza and this part of the country only has beaches and that's all....Porto Alegre may be kinda far from beaches, but it offers too many things that many touristy cities don't, mostly here where I am....congrats, champ!
interesting review. I guess most americans wouldnt believe how hard it is to find mexican food in Brazil.
about a year ago, the first mexican restaurant opened here in Novo Hamburgo (40km north of Porto Alegre). The owners travelled extensively in Mexico and say their tacos and burritos are pretty much like the originals in Mexico.
I know there are some 4-5 mexican restaurants in Porto Alegre, but the only one I ate was actually a texmex restaurant, with lots of cheddar, etc.
