  • that is actually a 30 caliber that was the earlier version from WW! but the army still used those in WW2 but then they made a new and improved 30 caliber that was air cooled that one is water cooled

  • Looks like a Spandau Machine Gun.. Slots on the heat guard mean it was air cooled and came from an Airplane.. Other versions had sealed tubes that were filled with water to keep it cool..

  • NOT FAIR NOT FAIR WHY I AINT FIND THIS STUFF :(((

  • Lucky Bums! Too bad they couldn't keep it like an American...

  • pretty sure they can keep battlefield dug relics. I think it has to be deemed unfireable, or incapable to be made fireable first though.

  • when my g-pa was young he lived in estonia during ww2 and he used to find dead soldiers and play with their guns and gernades but he stopped the day after another kid blew his arm off with an accidental pull of the string of a nazi's potato masher

  • you lucky bastard!

  • you need to sell some of that stuff

  • Fuck me, what a find.

  • I might have watched too much Time Team, but even a "common" artifact such as that shouldn't be just ripped out of the ground.

  • Nice find. But next time be careful when pulling out something that old.

  • Hey I think lilmax25 forgot to mention the word fuck. Hey great find by the way!!!!!!!!!

  • have you ever found a german mg42 or mg34? if i found one id shit myself

  • maxim machine guns are FAR more valuable

    a good condition a mg42 is worth about £800

a good condition maxim is worth about £3500

  • Yeah maxims are bad ass but in America a MG42 full auto is around $40,000 don't know what the maxim is worth...in semi auto that is about the value though 800 pounds is that about 1900 2000 dollars? Semi's go for around 2500 if they are german around 4 to 6000

  • true and MG-42 is around $40,000 American but that's not for something you dug up with a shovel and a metal detector.

  • of course..but im not sure what a maxim goes for in america...maybe more

  • I'm not sure. Who wouldn't want a full auto MG-42 though. I would love to invest in one. Its like investing in a '69 Corvette
