  • ahhh honor band. always so close yet so far away. the joys of being a flute.

  • wow!!! this is great we played this at our 2008 area band concert =)

  • Oh my word, that was marvelous! Uncle Henry would have certainly approved. And played with such verve and excitement! Too often I hear this tune played as if the director had a heavy pressure cooker lid on top of the band, keeping them smothered. On the other hand you can hear all the parts, and without things getting raucous. Very tastefully played and very well presented, thanks for sharing!

  • Are you related to the composer?

    Ian

  • Lol, no, although if I could claim it honestly I gladly would. I don't know if Fillmore had any actual nieces or nephews, but he took a particular interest in the school band movement in Florida after he moved down there for the sake of his health, and helped with establishing and developing school music programs. Lots of high school and college musicians got to know him, and most of them called him Uncle Henry out of their affection for him. I'm too young to have known him, sadly.

  • this is awsome yo my cousin play dis

  • I was there and this was amazing!!
