that's not a great answer, but it doesn't make her an idiot either. a better answer would be to specify the individuals/groups that have proposed solutions that have been shut down. Those include techniques to absorb the oil (hay, oil consuming bacteria), breaking it down (also bacteria), filtration systems, etc. They've been documented in recent news articles. The EPA said no to one that is a bacteria that consumes oil and sinks to the seafloor because it's against regulation to sink oil. gah!

Obviously the US either won't or can't solve the problem so you would have to bring in experts from other countries that have gone through similar situations and have experience in dealing with these kinds of things and they would most likely get the job done.

Medicare is socialized medicine and has been something seniors are fighting FOR. Military medical care is socialized medicine and the vets are not buying their own medical care to avoid it.
Every other one of the well-off nations provides health care because the greedy bastard insurance companies would rather kill somebody for a profit than pay the bills. Having the government (or a non-profit) provide care is a better idea. Why not fight medicare and military hospitals too? Loser.

I wouldn't want to see our model shy away from its core principals, but I can be much better. As to the pipe itself, if Obama was actually involving all the people that he should and could be, I have no doubt that "someone" would have come up with a working solution, but in the meantime at least the "outside" damage wouldn't even be close to as great if Obama was doing his job. This is within his Constitutional mandate, yet he sits on his hands.

We just don't have the technology to stop oil flow underwater and hundreds of atmospheres of pressure. Chemists are even seeing unprecedented reactions with oil, dispersant, and water. Pres. Obama should have been doing job of regulating oil industry beforehand, but there is really nothing he can do now.

Further, the pipe wasn't even mine or Palin's point, thus you are diverting the issue, the "containment" and cleanup is our point. Also "regulation" has nothing to do with this accident. The engineers made a decision, and it got out of their hands. What should have happened before hand is someone smart should have known this "could" happen and should have had a method in place to stop the oil.

that's not a great answer, but it doesn't make her an idiot either. a better answer would be to specify the individuals/groups that have proposed solutions that have been shut down. Those include techniques to absorb the oil (hay, oil consuming bacteria), breaking it down (also bacteria), filtration systems, etc. They've been documented in recent news articles. The EPA said no to one that is a bacteria that consumes oil and sinks to the seafloor because it's against regulation to sink oil. gah!
