  • It will fire full-auto, you only have to remove the safety ;o)

Chamber a round and it is ready to rock and roll.

For practicing on short ranges < 100m @ man size targets the DAG Training

ammunition is fine, and cheap as dirt (1000 pcs cost EUR 80,-)

  • @hlmgoertz

Are you saying by mechanically removing the safety catch from the weapon entirely it will become full-auto?!

  • @WatchRyder Yes, then it will fire full auto. When i was in the military we used to do that with our Belgian made FN FAL

  • @WatchRyder Alternitavely, swap the trigger group for a .308 Bren trigger.

  • I will tell you what's wrong with the FAL and that is they did not make enough of them and they could have put a little more effort into the rear sight

  • Check out the Soviet SVT-40 to see where this rifle really come from, pal. Nice review, My favourite rifle. TA

  • @DrZaSCok

    No it isn't and thanks.

MP44 / Sturmgehwr is the origin not the soviet junk-rifle :)

One of my favourites too :)

  • @WatchRyder Really? SVT 40 is a copy of MP44 ? Are you serious? Or just trolling me?

  • @DrZaSCok

What I said was the origin of the FN FAL is with the MP44 NOT the SVT 40.

Hope that clears things up for you.

  • @WatchRyder: That is incorrect. The StG44 influenced the FAL conceptually and it was originally intended to fire the same intermediate round (7.92x33 Kurz), but the gas-operated mechanism and internal configuration very closely resembles the Tokarev SVT 40.

  • @ccmm53095

No that is correct, but you are also correct, the gas mech may resemble the SVT but the roots are with the StG and the German WW2 SLR that wasn't as reliable as the SVT.

    So we'll agree to disagree:)

  • @WatchRyder They aren't junk, far from it. They are some what similar mechancally, but that doesn't mean the FAL came from the SVT-40.

  • The British and Australians added \/\/\/\/ shaped groves to some part of the rifle, not sure where. But it cought the sand, and stopped the jamming issues.

Im not sure why the Israelis didn't add them, but they spent money developing the 'IM Galil' insted.

  • Hi there! What company made the rail system for the weapon? You might have said...but I missed it. Thanks and have a nice day.

  • Great video mate, the FN rifle is STILL to this day a fabulous rifle.

Nice choice of music in the beginning.

    Would like to know.

What is the title of the music? Artist??

  • @NEOGEO1966

    Thanks NEO.

The music is from an artist who makes music just for the buzz.

    PM Message sent to you....

  • hi there... the FN is real and i would like to offer u a proporsetion ...

i'm doing a reaserch on wich is the top 4 assualt rifls ..

if you can help me with my reaserch plz let me know ASAP..

all what i need is some fact and data ..plz

    contact me.. and i'll explain

    thx

  • @Beeflying6

    Message sent...

  • The music sounds like something Chuck Norris would enter a room. :)

  • @meadbeard05

    YEAH!

  • siiiiccck

  • Holly shit how do you get that in the UK I have firearms pass and it allows for only non self loading rifles other than those chambered in .22 don't tell the police you have it they will be around quick as a whistle especially if it inst yours :P

  • @pwndboi225

    Thanks for your concern friend.

The Battle Rifle is in the US...

  • 7,62 and 308 should not really be fired through the same rifle. The brass on 7.62 is thicker as it is a NATO spec ammo, and the 308 is thinner as it is remington 308, ie a commercial round.....

  • @tbrowniscool

It won't affect the performance or reliability of the rifle.

It can take it just like an AK can take differing 7.62 Nato and former USSR calibre...

  • @WatchRyder

Thanks for confirming that, I always figured it was ok, as, that what I recall running the BR with when I fired it last :)

  • @tbrowniscool They're close enough that they can be fired out of the same rifles. A rifle with a .308 Winchester-spec chamber can fire 7.62x51mm NATO and vice versa. SAAMI is ok with it, so am I. The difference between .308 Winchester and 7.62x51mm NATO isn't like the difference between .223 Remington and 5.56x45mm NATO.

  • i am beginning my first year at boarding school, and my dad said after my first year, he will get me one of these :D

  • @okie1011

Your dad is a wise and generous man dude.

Glad to hear of your choice in arms bro'

    Good luck out there...

  • so you can't own handguns in the U.K but they let you own a F.A.L. what a fucked up backwards nazi country you live in.

  • @mrsuperterd

    You can't own a semi-auto FAL but can own a converted to manual-action / straight-pull.

Yes I know it sucks big time, no gun owners like it!

I saw the writing on the wall for decent gun rights back when the bs 1988 Firearms Act came along...

  • Aren't guns illegal in the UK?

  • @crashtest2302

If I had a $ for every time someone said that to me :D

No gun's are not illegal in the UK.

Please check out my other videos and you'll see how and why this is...

  • nice to see someone use decent electronic music for the soundtrack :)

as compared to every other person with that 09 sound system stuff.

  • @TroyMccluresbreth

    Thanks man.

The more minimalist and subtle the better usual.

  • I Use this gun own blackops

  • fal is standard issue 7.62 x 51 mm nato round

    its very accurate

even unexperienced shooters can have a hit percentage above 60 percent.

easy to clean and easy to use .

the older versions always had bipod

  • stg 58, probably the best FAL type ever made. 5/5

  • @robin6512

i hear you on that. Some low-budget sci-fi movies use this weapon as a gun-prop for soldiers etc.

Check out Recon - Mezzo incident and you'll see a few :)

  • FN (Fabrique Nationale de Herstal) FAL (Fusil Automatique Léger) FN FAL in 1947 prototype was completed in Belgium... It was based on similar construction as StG 44... It presented this weight against (versus) kosntrukcji

  • @orion2573

    Well said!

  • Thanks for response, i always liked the style of those types of rifle.

  • Is it legal to own this rifle in the uk?

  • @arriscado75

    Only if it's been converted to a straight-pull / bolt-action.

  • @WatchRyder its a shame the uk has so many bad gun laws

  • @arriscado75 Unless you know some old IRA dude that has one is his basement that will take cash...your outta luck.

  • I'm so glad I subscribed to you =D your FAC video finally persuaded my dad to get a FAC and you call this rifle FAL instead of fal.....I hate people that call this rifle a fal

  • @cucumberlord

    Wow man! That is something!

Glad to hear it, thanks :)

  • @cucumberlord Please explain, fal sounds the same as FAL. Doesn't it?

  • @partsproduction

I think what he means is when someone says it as F A L instead of fal (all one word).

  • @WatchRyder So he means that some say "ef ay el" instead of "fal"? I guess I can see it, it drives me nuts when people speak of nuclear fusion as "nuke ya lur" instead of how it's spelled "new clear". Even people in high office and "scientists" mispronounce nuclear. You'll never hear a physicist say it wrong. But FAL is an acronym, any standard of pronunciation would seem to me to be individual, however, if convention says "FAL" I suppose that's how it should be said.

  • Out of pure curiosity, what do you think of the Israeli version compared to the STG 58?

  • @Thatevilmidget

Is that the longer barrelled variant?

It's good for desert warfare, slightly heavier and a bit more cumbersome...

  • @WatchRyder

Well the Israelis supposedly did some upgrades on it, but other than the forward assist (activated by pushing the charging handle forward), I don't know what they were.

They had a heavy and light barrel variation (light barrel was basically a select fire clone of the British SLR version, minus the bipod, and the heavy barrel was an LMG variation), other'n that, I know nothing about their variations and figured I'd see if you had any experience with them before I buy one.

  • What kind of watch is that your wearing!? i need me one!

  • @CaliforniaOceanGrown

    That's a $20 G-Shock my friend

  • @WatchRyder well hell even better!! model?

  • Beautiful FAL! 15 years old you say, still a very pristine weapon. That rifle has received a lot of attention and care.

  • @CaliforniaOceanGrown

Yeah the owner really knows his weapons.

  • 556 was not design to kill people all the way it was to wound.

  • @InAKwitmyHK91

Not really, it's designed to 'tumble' when impacting inside a person's body, thus maximising it's 'lethality'. Only problem is with body-armour it's useless compared to 7.62mm

Also designed to be lighter, so able to carry more ammo...

  • this gun makes me think of th STG 44 the first assault rifle ever build

  • @xx0MangiPogo0xx

The STG 58 was most certainly influenced by the STG 44 :)

  • @WatchRyder oh and whats the songs name at the beginning?

  • @xx0MangiPogo0xx

The song name is 'Quiet' and was sourced from my contact who provides me with tunes. :)

  • @WatchRyder thx

  • @xx0MangiPogo0xx

    No problem man!

  • @WatchRyder can,t find the song

  • @xx0MangiPogo0xx

Ahh, that's a shame, the link must be out :(

  • I have a para original made in 1960s and its FA how much could i sell it for

  • @TheKYNREEVE

Got any pics? Can you put together a video?

On the price the sky is pretty much the limit if it's FA and all legit :)

  • I have a full auto FN FAL para, how much could i sell it for

  • @TheKYNREEVE

I'd say a ballpark figure is in the range of $3500 - $6500 depending on condition, modifications and features...

  • @TheKYNREEVE Here in montana easily for around 5k

  • @shishiromura

    That's a good price for full-auto.

  • I have a fully automatic Belgian FN FAL para version, and i want to know how much it's worth

  • @TheKYNREEVE

    The sky's the limit.

    What condition is it in?

  • @WatchRyder

it's in near factory new condition, I kept it clean over the years. My dad passed it down to me from his army days

  • Borat ..I like FN FAL

  • It's actually chambered for 7.62x51 NATO but will accept .308 WIN.

  • I thought the Brits weren't allowed to own guns

  • @bsg1206

    You obviously 'thought' wrong.

    Brits can own guns.

  • do you recon this is better than the m16 and that gun the army UK use now;i always admired the look of the old SLR like the falklands gun...

  • @EDWARDBASTARDHITLER

    Yes, yes and definately!

The adoption of the L85A1 (now A2) and L86 (LSW) was a bad choice of weapon.

It's underpowered, prone to jamming (less so now the H and K parts are fitted). The design of it is beneficial only for mechanised troops and FIBUA (fighting in built-up areas). Bayonet fighting is a 'mare with one.

  • @WatchRyder The only reason the L85A1 was chosen was because of its supreme accuracy...

  • @hamsterhairs

Have you ever fired an L85A1?

I have and it's nowhere near as accurate as the L1A1 / FN FAL

The Battle Rifle is king of accuracy.

Check out my range video here:

The L85A1 is good for an army shooting team at sub 300 yards and that's only just.

The reason it was chosen was because it was perceived to be more 'NATO' friendly and good for fighting the USSR in built up areas...

  • @hamsterhairs

Have you ever fired an L85A1?

I have and it's nowhere near as accurate as the L1A1 / FN FAL

Check out my range video of it in action here:

    watch?v=UzSoi_cqrZA

The L85A1 is good for an army shooting team at sub 300 yards and that's only just. The SAS thought it was pure junk and refused to use it, choosing other foreign weapons instead...

It was perceived to be more 'NATO' friendly and good for fighting the USSR in built up areas...

  • @WatchRyder

how the hell would you know how the L85A2 shoots.

the L85A2 isnt prone to jamming,i havent had mine jam on me once,if you keep it mentained well it will never jam on you.

and as for it being underpowerd you are just talking out your arse on that one pal.you dont have a clue what your on about.

  • @rangers11000

You must be either cleaning it after every score of round's or have a tremendous amount of luck because all five regiment's I served with reckoned the L85 was one of the worst weapon's adopted by the British Military.

It is you who haven't a clue and need to stop believing that the British weapon is the best in the world just because you serve in a state army that's brainwashed you into reckoning a polished piece of crap is somehow better than a battle rifle.

  • @rangers11000

    Ok onto your next bs.

I actually said on the comment which you replied THIS:

"""The adoption of the L85A1 (now A2) and L86 (LSW) was a bad choice of weapon.

It's underpowered, prone to jamming (less so now the H and K parts are fitted)."""

Read this bit carefully as one of my pet hate's is moron's who don't read my comment's properly.

I never said the A2 was prone to jamming, I said it was less so now the HK part's are fitted.

  • @rangers11000

Ok, the L85A2 is underpowered. Not for the range's encountered in a city or FIBUA conditions but for open-country it's lacking power for 300 yard + engagements.

Yes I do know what I'm talking about as I've actually served in the military for over 6 years and fired the thing more times than I care to recall.

So don't come the bully-boy on my channel or video's as you WILL lose OK!

  • @WatchRyder

The 5.56 round is shit. The only reason it's popular now is because my country's military adopted it, kinda like marijuana prohibition. And, also like marijuana prohibition, it was a shit idea, based on NO facts or data. Idk what barrel length the L85 has, but unless the 5.56 is fired from at least a 20-inch barrel, it will not perform properly ballistically. In fact, the U.S. military released a report saying that the 5.56 does not have sufficient power to kill a man at 100 yards

  • @CarbineKingClassic

You are the voice of reason my friend.

The L85 (both A1 and A2) are 20 inches in length.

The weapon CANNOT be fired by left-handed people unless they train to use the opposite shoulder.

This contrasts to the FN FAL which can be changed to either position...

  • @CarbineKingClassic The5.56 is a fairly effective round. though it dosent have the massive power of the 7.62, the 5.56 has tremedous muzzle velocity giving it good knockdown at target. the speed also increases the fragmentation of the bullet giving it good tissue damage characteristics. its light weight means that more can be carried, while recoil during extended firing can easily be managed. livining in Australia ive seen that the 5.56 can effectivly drop most wild critters from the bush.

  • @randomidea0

Good for small critters but that's about it.

In the UK and Ireland it's verbotten to hunt deer with 5.56mm ammo. It's gotta have more power. Which is what you get from a 7.62mm round :)

  • @WatchRyder

well thats your opinion and i dont agree with it.

anyway, how do you have so may guns, do you have US citizenship or somthing?

  • @rangers11000

Ok, I can tell you either haven't watched the video or have completely forgot in which case I'll remind you.

This weapon in particular is not mine it's a good friend of mines.

I have a work permit for the USA, allowing me to own guns (state law permitting).

  • @WatchRyder

no i diddnt watch the video completley.

what did you do in the military.

  • @rangers11000

    I thought so.

None of your bloody business :D

  • Wait....are you actually in Thailand? I think it's legal to have handguns there, but I didn't think they'd go this far. I know those are 'evil' in the UK.

  • @Donatellangelo

    I get around man ;)

Yes, what they class as 'military rifles' are against Thai law to own in Thailand.

That doesn't stop the criminals and private army's / mafia owning them though ;)

  • Great review. I would love to own an FAL someday and I am gathering my info before I buy. Your video was very helpful.

  • I am thinking of buying either a FN FAL or a M1A (M14). How do they compare on accuracy?

  • @63gstone

Well the FN FAL is a very accurate weapon for the most part, just shy of bolt-action weapons.

    For an M14 it's more than a match. :)

  • Great vid! I've shot a .308 out of a Springfield Socom 16. Fun times. Thank you for sharing

  • Nice rifle.I love the stopping power but the weight can be a little much if carrying for long periods of time.

  • @paultana

Thanks man, I hear you on that. But's ok once you get used to the weight of it. :)

  • @WatchRyder great video! thats an awesome rifle! i was wondering if you live in Britain? Because i thought people over there were not allowed to buy anything but shotguns anymore for home defense

  • @DixiePrepper

I get around, if you know what I mean ;)

But yeah the elitist government decided in 1987 to outlaw ownership or semi-auto center fire rifles and basically start the big obstacles to gun ownership we have today and then some.

Heh, even shotguns for self-defence are questionable these days.

FAC weapons are being taken off people for the slightest of reasons now :(

  • hey its hardballer here what are the gun laws like in thailand?

  • @02dartda

Well, for handguns it's very liberal compared to the UK.

There's a very laissez-faire police procedure where you fill out an application form, say what gun you want on it. You get a chit back saying either yes you can, no you can't.

Usually it's a bit tougher to get .357 calibre pistols up to a maximum of .45 calibre.

The drawback is there's laws against owning battle-rifles / fully or semi-automatic ones.

You can't CCW here either, just for going back and forth from the range.

  • @WatchRyder - Move to Georgia USA, my friend. No gun laws whatsoever outside of Federal Laws. Suppressors are legal and no hassle, and GA is a CWP "SHALL ISSUE" state. This means that if you apply and meet the standards, the State MUST ISSUE you a permit. I am so glad you can enjoy such a fine weapon in Thailand. I guess Thailand already had a taste of communism under the Khmer Rouge and decided that liberalism sucks.

  • @AlienZygote010

    Thanks for the comment man!

This review was done in the USA! :D

In Thailand while pistol ownership is A-okay, battle rifles, semi-auto center-fire weapons (rifle) are outlawed for civilians.

Rangers can own them (border militia) though.

Georgia has an appeal man, I'd head over there if it wasn't for the stupid visa restrictions that 1st world nations citizens have to jump through to get a green card (which is almost impossible nowadays).

  • Nice DSA man.

  • alright, nice gun, yorkshire accent? :-) slr is a giveaway

  • i was happy with my cz .17hmr ... But i would love one of those. Great review

  • I have the same rifle too and it's great. I believe the rifle is assembled in the USA using Austrian and American parts because they couldn't import a real military one. The first FAL prototype was chambered in 7.92x33mm and another version was chambered in .280 British. It has a very similar gas system to SVT-40 and FN-49. Nice overview by the way. Are you from really from Ireland? You have more of a British accent.

  • @esh325

Thanks, accents can be deceptive ;)

  • That thing is cooooooooool.......

  • @jeffshootsstuff

    Sure is man, thanks.
