he's not totally wrong... I recently learned a technique for my left hand that pretty much leaves out the ring finger. Thats right 3 fingers. If you know how to pivot your hand in relation to chord locations/types then you can pretty much cover twice the range on the fret board with no effort exerted on the left hand at all.
I think he's doing great. You definitely gotta stretch out those fingers, and a good bass teacher could really help. I know, I played bass for years and recently started serious lesson. Stay with it!
tiny hands are no excuse, i started playing bass when i was about eleven or so, so i'd probably have smaller hands then the guy playing in the video. my dad pushed me to use my pinky etc too. it becomes in handy when doing harder and faster songs which aren't playable with just two fingers.
shut up you dolt. if he wants to continue playing bass the wrong way, then i won't bother. if you wanted to actually help him you would've corigized him to use four fingers and not two, isntead of acting like some asshole.
actually i have taught him to use 3, in person, which is all you really need. i've found that alot of people that post comments on how to play an instrument actually don't play anything at all. And you just confirm my suspicions further with your insults.
try convincing somebody who plays bass you only need three fingers to play bass. how do you found out people that give other people tips are frauds because they don't play any instrument at all because they insult people? i have any reason to insult you; you are teacher him the wrong stuff, like saying playing with three fingers is better then with four fingers. then you come up with some piece of shit argument like ''you don't play bass, ur a fraud.'' which is total bollocks.
here ya go. you don't need 4 fingers to play bass or any other instrument. i play bass and guitar just fine with a jacked up pinky finger. By the way, what the hell does the Netherlands no about music anyway? What was the last product you all put out? Fucking Europeans always got something smart to say. Shove your bullocks up your ass dude.
there are songs that require four fingers, just to name a few; YYZ, alot of the songs from primus. and alot of other songs, you need four fingers to play certain songs, so shut up.
also, what does nationality have to do with this? nothing, putting up some weird-ass racist argument has nothing to do with it. you clearly know shit, so go away.
great playing! Only advice is the same that everybody else already said. practice on using all your fingers. it's easier, looks cleaner, and makes it sound smoother.
yeah bro. it sounds good. but you gotta use at least three. i wish i could use 4 but that pinky is just jacked up lol. bring your ass over more and jam!
yes bua'what up?i am a bass player...i play solo guitar too...have been watching you playing that tune...not bad...some left to do...try not to move your hand that much..try now to use 4 fingers instead of 2 like you doing...stick your thumb right the back and without moving your hand just type your 4 fingers into the note and move into other note using the same technique ok?
