I think they ruined Dave a bit. If you look back at series 1 especially he's not as thick or slow as he has been since series 3. I mean, the last christmas special at Denise and Dave's... they made him seem retarded. In the first 2 series he was way better!

At its best this is one of the finest tv comedies ever made. The ensemble cast (including Grandma and the neighbours) is magnificent. This clip is good enough for Comic Relief, which is, after all, a decent cause.

You must be very easily pleased if you liked Rocky Gervais' sketch. In fact no, the fact that you like it is just weird. I can watch any truly intelligent comedy, from Frasier to Flight of the Conchords to The Riches, to silly comedy like the Royle Family, but with Ricky Gervais, there is NOTHING to "get". It's not high-brow and it's not toilet-humour funny. He just plain sucks. I sat through his comic relief sketch and didn't laugh once. Eating a turkey in his office...wow, hilarious.
