Great idea ,im thinking of buying my own turbine ,and instaling it myself wouldn,t mind having a look at your set up to see how it is done if thats ok ,cheers rob
oh yes it would be dangerous, In reality i keep aclose eye on the wind forecast and shout down early if there is a big one coming. Many thanks for your comment
We have a turbine in france that we need to tie off for winter. Do you tie yours off for long periods of time, or do you think the rope would snarl up if there are changes in wind direction during the time we are away?
Perhaps we need a clamp that fixes on the blade, with a ring around the pole.
its very rarely we tie it down only if a storm is coming I think if i was in your shoes and away from it for long periods i would tie it down, It would also be a good idea to put the batteries on a trickle charge .from the mains.
Thanks for you comments Jim. Much appreciated. We are off grid completely in France so there is no option to trickle charge from the mains. However, the batteries we have are pretty good and hold their charge well, so I think they will be ok. Cheers Mark
Job well done
