There are too many additional variables involved in that percentage to try to make a statistical determination that the there is a correlation between single parent homes and prison inmates. You must also consider that you are using a sample size of only prison inmates to make this correlation instead of children raised by single parents in the greater population.

@calicold21 government institutions do not rape and abuse children, it is foster parents that do that when the government does not monitor them well enough. the government specifically goes out of its way to prevent that, but they fail do to the large volume of children they have to look over.
it hurts the children when people decide to have children when they are not ready to be parents. abortion and adoption are much more humane options when faced with undesired pregnancy.

@calicold21 it is unrealistic to expect people not to have sex. this would be the optimum solution, but it is unrealistic. i think we should focus more on the use of contraceptives, as abortions should be used as a last resort. condoms help prevent STDs and birth control pills can regulate they rhythm of the menistrual cycle, and they both help to prevent abortion. day after pills are reasonable at fixing bad decisions the day after. i am pro-choice, that does not mean i like abortions.

I really tried in our relationship to keep it together but his moods (when he couldn't get dope) were really hard to handle. What concerns me about this video is the message the one lady is giving her 2 little girls by listing all the negative and hard burdens a single mother has to contend with.
It would be a valuable lesson if the mother would list the wonderful joy they bring her, at least in their presence. I know what it feels like to be the daughter of a single parent. It's difficult when most fathers are not in their kids' lives to teach them guidance and morals. What's even frustrating is when some people choose to have children before education and marriage. What are they teaching their kids about the consequences of getting pregnant without protection? Before some of these women have children again, these guys need to have condoms. If not, don't lay up in his bed and have any children yet.
