Shirley's character was pretty well written out IMO, it takes a whole LOT to forgive someone for indirectly killing her father, accepting Lulu's real self(which really says a lot w/ him being Britannia's #1 enemy). It was so obvious throughout the whole series he had feelings for Shirley. But let's look At it this way...both Suzaku And Lulu lose out their girls :(

I don't get the hate thrown Shirley's way. She is, as she says, the one thing that remains truthful to him. Sure she's a somewhat typical teen, but think about this: Both Kallen and C.C. want something from Lelouch, and eventually like him because of his fulfillment of these things, but Shirley loves him simply because he is himself. No motives, just pure, simple, love. Love for its own sake. I think that's a beautiful thing. Perhaps more people should love like this, hm?

This scene is so powerful... Shirley, confessing her love for Lelouche, who she has fallen in love with 3 times, after 3 tragic events, as she is bleeding to death. Lelouche, after hearing this, is desperate to make Shirley live. In a way, he is confessing his love for her too. But, even though the Geass worked... the damage was just too heavy... even when her mind was ordered to live, she knew it was not possible. And their hearts were ripped from each others' chests in an instant.
