  • THE MOST TALENTED GIFT FROM ABOVE MONTY MAY UR SOUL REST IN PERFECT PEACE, MAY THE LORD ANGELS MEET U WITH THIS SAME SWEET PRAISES IN HEAVEN. FOR WHAT U SOLE IS WHAT U HARVEST AMEN.

  • THE MOST UNIQUE SOUND AND FANTASTIC AND CLASSIC SAX MUSIC IN THE WORLD SO FAR THANKS BE TO GOD.

  • How many great jazz clarinet players are there! Monty you were great! R.I.P ( from Pete 'Kiwi' Keegan veteran skiffle & blues performer of the 1950's)

  • Saddened to read below that Monty has passed on. He often used to visit The Sakespeare Hotel at Woolwich , which was the home of The Hot Club of London. It was run by that great pioneer of British jazz, George Webb in the late fifties and sixties. Monty used to join our small group of fans in the intervals to tell us the latest dirty joke and to collect even more. A great guy and a great musician. I bet he's up there in heaven jamming away with the all time greats.

  • the sun is still shining and Monty stay here forever.

  • The Old Rugged Cross never sounded so good. brilliant !

  • @Vanderdecken1 Lauschen, zuhören, geniessen, der Wehmut und den Tränen freien Lauf lassen, und mit einem Lächeln daran denken was gewesen........................

  • R.I.P Monty Sunshine :'(

  • This is beautiful! Monty and the whole band are brilliant, but I think Colin Bowden deserves a mention for the distinctive sound that comes from a band whenever he is involved.

  • Outstanding!

  • Merci

  • I can vividly remenber the Barber band at the Trent Bidge Hotel in 1956. Little did we know we were listening to one of the great bands that would still be going strong 35 years later. What a performance through thick and thin. That is genius.

  • I still don't believe it after 50 years

  • one of my favourits

  • Wonderful!

  • O boy, layed in such a great style.

  • I was 15 when I heard this at the Drill Hall in Northampton, Chris Barber, Ottilie Patterson and Monty etc., man dem was de days! I'm 69 now and this still moves me down to my boots.

  • I was 17 when I had my first LP of this in Holland. I am now 72 and I'm so glad I found it on film and am able to share it. I became a musician and played with Monte in 1984 in Toronto. A magnificent musician and person!

  • A brilliant video - I saw this actual performance in the early nineties, and it was even more awesome to hear this live

  • das hat jemand auf der Beerdigung von meiner mutter gesungen

  • Brings back many happy memories of the 50's & early sixties among the jazz clubs of London

  • Again Wow .Thanks mate .Non of us ever get old when we can appreciate music like this.

    Eddie
