  • War is who we are. In millions of years of existence, war has been an inevitability. And a part of life.

I embrace this, for I am born a warrior

  • we use guns and bonbs because we have evolved, what makes you think that in the dawn of man we did not kill each other with bone and rocks?, that is the best we could have come up with at such an early stageof life, but it will all come to an end either by world wide panacea/ meteor/ your so called "god"/ or giant oranges falling from the skies :D what im trying to say is, we all have an appointment with death. and none of us will fail that rendezvous.

  • What really upsets me is that Mr. Seeger had no idea what he was getting into proir to WWI. He thought it was going to be based on skill, not on the luck. Old battles, your skill with a sword or gun was measured. In WWI it was whether or not your regiment was sent into no-man's land to get shredded by machine gun fire. Let alone the gas attacks, or the numerous explosives. R.I.P. soldiers who died in the Hell that was WWI. May we never again see another war so atrocious.

  • @HaloFan262 you miss the point entirely never mind

  • @theblob34 Whatever i must obviously be wrong because you say so, whatever, not gonna even bother mate

  • If anything, that makes us better. What do animals do? They tear and bite, extremeley painful and cruel. Rifles and bombs are quick(er). Besides, why focus on the negatives? Humans have honestly bettered the world for many living things. Modern medicine is astounding.

  • thats a cool poem

  • humans are terrible creatures. it takes us years of bloodshed to write a piece of paper to end it. and in the end what is acomplished? land, power, freedom? it will never be enough for us. we will fight dor some more then they will fight us for what was lost. it will never end.

  • @pred6

Unfortunately, that is simply part of human nature. Try as we might, we will never get away from it.

  • @pred6 Humans aren't the only beings who do this. All creatures wage battle with eachother. The only difference between them and us, is that we use guns and bombs.

  • @conick9599 which makes us more terrible because those guns and bombs are a lot more destructive and harmful to everything else that is living. when animals fight it is definatly not as destructive to the world

  • @pred6

in the end we are all decaying matter

  • @pred6 ha! i hope it never does, it may be terrible but it's man's nature and there's no stopping that, so might as well acept it

  • @goldmasterchief117 You want pointless blood to be spilled? What if it it was the innocent blood of your friends and family, would you still hope the madness never ends?

  • @goldmasterchief117 no what i'm saying is that war is just in our nature and you pretty much have to accept that one way or another

  • and i, to my pledged word am true.

I shall not fail that rendezvous

try and tell me that isnt a thing of beauty

  • @AlbaGuBrath1320 I agree. Sad thing is, he lived up to those words as he did not fail that rendezvous, as he was killed in action.

  • To think that land that beautiful was fought over for 4 long years...

  • Without wars, poem as beautiful as this one would be meaningless.

  • Where love throbs out in blissful sleep

Pulse nigh to pulse and breath to breath

    Where hushed awakenings are dear

But Ive a rendezvous with death

At midnight in some flaming town

    When spring trips north again

And I to my pledged word am true

    I shall not fail

    That Rendezvous

Truely amazing that is why there should not be war so talrent like that wont be wasted

  • What's ironic is the fact that you can't help but think that demise and conflict like war are needed so that emotions are sparked and creative minds give way to these creations.

  • I have a Rendezvous with Death When spring comes back with rustling shade and apple blossoms fill the air At some disputed barricade It may be he shall take my hand And lead me into his dark land And close my eyes And quench my breath It may be I shall pass him still I have a Rendezvous with Death on some scarred slope of battered hill When spring comes round again this year And the first meadow-flowers appear God know twere better to be deep Pillowed in silk and scented down
  • Truly epic, so hard to have anything that can actually move you these days and this just pulls something out of you. And taps with it, both so haunting. Thank you

  • great =) thxx
