Portuguese people can only be proud about their old glory days they are stuck in. During the Royal Family rule, Portugal was rich, after that, it tumbled to a poor nation, bad managed status, and amazing, it still is. Let me also remind of what else you as a Portuguese can be proud of. Portugal is the only nation who had Royal Family that cowardly fled to Brazil, not to fight Napoleon. Brave people, those Portuguese. Now I understand why Brazilians also thank Napoleon for their existence.
