KCNC Was Using "The Colorado Evening News" name long before the Switch from NBC to CBS, they started using that name around 1990.

@raymieX For a brief two years, and when it came to a 6:30 newscast, KCNC shared the same name as Dan Rather's show.

That 6:30 show sandwiched between Dan Rather and CBS Primetime

But sadly, it was the final two years.

I prefer the main theme of Image X, since this sounds a little to "faux-jazzy" for me. The main theme sounds more serious. Still, awesome.

I see that this video came from may 97. The other videos you posted from 1997, KCNC had a new look,music,set,graphics.

Which month did KCNC switch thier look in 97.

Do you have video of the first day of the new look/ last day of the old look.

Unfortunately, I can't answer your question about the image change. I wasn't a huge KCNC fan (which, looking back, was perhaps a mistake!) and didn't really track them all that well. Similarly, I doubt I have the transition on tape anywhere. Still tons of tapes to go, though, so if something turns up, I'll be sure to post it.

I wish I had recorded the transition phase in 2003-- that was the most interesting revamp they ever had.

I believe they switched their imaging in August or September, but I'm not completely sure. They usually have switched their imaging around that time (except for the revamp in April 2008).

@popweaverhdtv After NBC sold KCNC to CBS, Channel 4 held on to the WNBC/WRC look for another two years.

Moreover, along with this logo (with the CBS variation), came Bob Palmer's final two years at KCNC.

The new look in 1997 was unveiled that same year Palmer retired.
