Surely, there's a sacred message that the composer is trying to communicate through the art, and its a pity to miss that message. But I think we can enjoy and appreciate the music on its own merits as well.
I am a firm believer in Christ, but I don't believe that you necessarily need to be a believer to appreciate the beauty in "religious music". Anyone like Bach here? How about Handel and Vivaldi? Bach wrote most of his music for the Lutheran Church. Even Beethoven wrote many Masses. Their music has been revered and enjoyed by all throughout the ages regardless of one's religious beliefs.
Not judging anyone, really. But I believe Christ is the son of God, and this song speaks to me. And even if it wasn't about Jesus, I would love it because Gungor is amazing, and their songs are amazing. It's just an amazing song.

For one thing, the fact that it is written in a human language prevents it from being completely objective no matter how much it might like to be. Whether it is purely a human work or divinely inspired, it is unavoidably limited because it is written in human language. so yes, reading the Bible is a human discipline too.

It's people's attitudes that causes wars ultimately. The need to condemn something, and show yourself to be better. Kind of like calling someone scum. It's human nature.
Secondly, you came to a Christian video, i.e. one where it can easily be assumed that viewers will believe in God and Christ. You proclaimed that God is not real.

@ScottishCaledonian fair enough if I go to an atheist video and proclaim that God is real, the burden of proof is on me. Sadly we are in a deadlock because try as you might, you can't prove that God is not real, and try as I might, I can't prove that he is to you. Scientifically yes, there is no proof that God is real, but we're not in atheist territory here, science is not king. Science is not law. It's a human discipline for understanding the world, as such is subject to human flaws.

@ScottishCaledonian I don't dispute that. I believe the Bible is divinely inspired but I don't believe it is "objective" as many Christians set it up to be. For one thing, the fact that it is written in a human language prevents it from being completely objective no matter how much it might like to be. Whether it is purely a human work or divinely inspired, it is unavoidably limited because it is written in human language. so yes, reading the Bible is a human discipline too.

I really think this song is beautiful. I love the passion in the lyrics and i especially like how the atmostphere of worship is maintained. It was a really nice idea for the ladies to sing the ah's in a soft harmony in the second verse. Love it guys!

I love this song and I love Gungor. They cannot be categorized and they cannot be contained. They play instruments that don't seem like they'd go together and it works beautifully. Like God, they are out the box. Very anointed group.
