On this occasion the 47 on the back was used to get the train from Birmingham to Crewe to pick up 6201 and then stayed on the back to provide Electric Train Heat and to help in the positioning moves between Kensington Olympia, Clapham and Euston, which required a lot of reverse running.
No need for 'insurance' we had an excellent engine on the front in 6201!!!!
yes because during the winter months the steam engines cant do all the work. so the disels provide all the steam heating for dining coach and heating on the train
God, if its coming back out of Euston then it'll be fast coming back up WCML to keep out the way of the Pendalino's! lol. Nice shot anyway mate, really highlights the speed it was going. Check out mine if you like, I was just sandwiched in the wrong place, would of preferred it on the DOWN MAIN on WCML. 5* mate, as usual. I wish that enjoy would come this way more often, nice to see Tyseley made an effort for us to see her! lol.
Thanks. This is my first time seeing Princess Elizabeth- it's the closest it's ever come down here so I thought it would be worth a venture out to see her!
least all wasn't lost mate eh? nice shot none the less! bet that was a sight to see the princess working hard though
5*

What a true beauty :3 Why do I see diesels on the end of a steam engine train like Tornado's train and or this.
BhanuHabbo 2 years ago
For insurance purposes like if the engine fails, the diesel will take over.
