It is true that journalism is not like it used to be. Technology can be blamed for that. When journalism was a work of art, we were still fiddling with rabbit ears on the top of television sets. Now, with satelite, cable, and every other source of infotainment, the piece of pie has shrunk to little less than a lick in a pan.
Reading through these, it amazes me how people think they are professional at other people's jobs. And the fact that people in these comments are so quick to judge. Judging the pilots for flying the way they did...I would invite the person who left that comment to give his judgement to the pilots widow, and then realize that the pilot had been flying for twenty years, and done tours of duty for the armed forces.
I'm a news cameraman. I go out on a daily basis on fires, crashes, rapes, and other sick stuff our society puts out. What ind of sick %&#@ do you think I am?!! I don't know anyone that enjoys that! Leave that to the station managers and the network execs who eat ratings like nothing else. You make me sick MOLHAVA...
we, as cameramen, go out not thinking of the next great story, but of how we're going to feed our kids, manage the overtime, and deal with equipment that breaks down constantly. MOLHAVA, may the next media chopper to crash land on you... that is my only wish...
I've read about how nowadays journalists are concerned for things like you have named rather than finding good, sensible news. The media has stagnated from a true form of informing the public on important issues to, as you have said several times, a rating-based machine spewing crap. The days of the real journalists are gone, as no longer do they have the freedom to pursue a real story...just a "good" one.
How do they deserve it if they were media heli's??? You ASS!!! They were good pilots just doing there job. I would like to strap you in something and drop you from 500 feet up....Why?
They deserve it for being so greedy! They were there to be top dog and it bit em in the ass! Serves them right for being greedy! Its all about ratings these days and that just shows ya how far media will go to get a story for rating! So fuck em! Oh and by the way, if they were such great pilots, why did they hit each other? Good pilots monitor airspace!
That's no reason for someone to die. Maybe next time you are in a chopper it will do us all a favor and fall out of the sky so that there is one less ass hole in the world
This video does a good job of showing the effect such an event has on an average person who sees it - its a normal human feeling to want to reach out and help another in a desperate situation. The man who was so concerned is a good man to care.
What do you mean so-called job? What do you do? flip burgers at Mc Donalds for a living? its a great job, only dumb shits like you would never be able to fly a heli.
they now how dangerous that so called "job" is. news media in North America are insane, two hundred choppers in a very little air space, covering some guy who steal a banana from a supermarket. Don't go crying to your momma!
May the crew members Rest In Peace

The real issue is... People are passing judgement on individuals...when it is the messed up networks that they are truly angry at.
Whatever the reason is...there is no good reason to be happy for someone's death.

Oh my God. The last part where he says 'Nobody got out.' is really heart wrenching. So sad. It sucks that this is real and not T.V.
