Silence and solitude, love the igloo/snow shelter! for anyone who has never experienced one and cannot imagine sleeping in a snow cave, let me tell you, they are AWESOME! ....put a nice Therma-rest pad and a good bag in there, you will be out of the wind and snug as a bug in a rug.
such a beautiful place...i was there in March. was unsuccessful getting around the lake in snowshoes. conditions were brutal...had to turn around. three other groups that started the same day, turn around as well. definitely will try again someday. i learned alot so i think next time i'll be better prepared. truly a winter wonderland.
