  • lol i was shooting mine and the shells flew to the other lane also lol giving the person next to me a brass shower ahaha

  • 0:04...sombody was very trigger happy

  • Big Als! Everytime you're there, your own life is on the line...

  • @bansheekiller why's that?

  • nice shooting....

  • Hey, your grip is bad.

  • does anyone know how to read? it's a range video, not a gripping instructional video. yes, we can see he's holding it all wrong. GET OVER IT. everyone points out the most obvious shit and everyone makes the same comments about it.

  • Why do people Tea Cup? Hand on hand, thumb in thumb pointed towards the front sight.

  • is that big Al's!?!...i haven't been there in a while

  • @esco61 it is at Big Al's

  • I just have to say: great and beautifull weapon, good powerful caliber!

I have the same, also caliber .40

  • Who showed this guy how to hold a gun??

  • why does he pull the trigger when it's empty?

  • @seventyfive1 Cuz he thought it was still loaded.

  • Who cares about the way the guy is gripping the weapon? If my asscheeks were strong enough, I could grip and shoot perfectly by shoving the gun in my crack. Ok, maybe not shooting. That might be tricky. But gripping, yes!

  • Lucky the Sig is such a soft shooting .40 with a grip like that any other gun would fly up and hit him in the head.

  • that revolver-style gripping works fine.

  • I like how alot of the people commenting on this video think that the way they grip a gun is the best way. Different people use different grip styles. Fucking deal with it and stop stroking your ego.

  • Waaaay to much finger on the trigger, try using only the tip of your finger.

  • The simple fact of the matter has to do with the recoil. When you fire the pistol the muzzle raises, aye? So cupping your hand on the bottom of the grip does nothing to manage the said recoil. His grip is wrong. Plain and simple. Stop fighting it. You can also tell his experience level when he pulls the trigger when the slide is locked back.

  • @agreg24 yeah but thats how they do it in the movies

anyway you're taking this too seriously, most people havent shot 5000 rounds

the majority of the population has never even shot a gun

  • @jokergd If someone is gonna learn how to shoot, it doesnt hurt to ask a professional/experienced shooter how its done. You can learn proper grip in a couple of minutes. It makes shooting easier and more effective, especially for women with small and weak hands.

  • @labartic It also helps if you learn how to read. It makes you look less stupid, especially on the internet.

  • @jokergd Maybe you should learn to read dip shit. I didnt say you specifically, I said someone, as in a human being in general. Im sorry you are a moron.

  • @labartic oh hey, way to get eViolent, very nice!... fyi if you address something @jokergd, I will think it's to me, since it's @MY_NAME

  • agreg24, I actually adjust my grip to the bore axis of the gun I am shooting. The 229 is pretty flat and it seems in this video soft loaded. Anyway...relax and have a beer. Cheers

  • @agreg24 So what? Everyone isn't gonna be a know it all pro like you, you should know that.

  • ITT: Gun snobs LOL

Theres dozens of 'right' ways to hold a gun, there is no ONE 'correct' way. It all depends on the user, their trainers and their chosen method.

Ive trained under dozens of various instructors all w/ their own likes and dislikes, none is more right than another. So i pick and choose what works BEST for ME and go with it

As long as the gun is under control and the holes go where you want them it doesnt matter

  • NICE GRIP DOUCHEBAG! JK :) <3 sig/glock

  • The benefit of counting rounds is you can reload before your last round is fired and you don't have to chamber the first round from the mag. I would not go so far as to say he is Dumb for not counting though. In an actual gun fight you may just be too busy to count anyway. No need to be so critical here.

  • That is what training is for. When I go to the range I already know what things I am going to be working on. Being a veteran, I know how important training is. You have to do it many times over until it becomes automatic. I don't actually have to count rounds anymore, I just know. But, all that comes with time, repetition and experience. I know that I didn't really know what I was doing until I got about 10,000 down-field. Then the learning really started.

  • @ashleyhut zomg! a person who didn't count the amount of shots! he is so fucking dumb! and you're so smart! true story!

  • im not so big on counting rounds...but how do you not see the slide locked back? in his defense maybe he was keeping eyes on target...

  • Not that it matters but usually you can feel the difference between a locked back and a forward slide

  • yeah when the slide locks back like that, that means the gun's empty lol

  • a "clip"? you're right, people are dumb.

  • Umm.. It's called a magazine... not a clip.. there is a difference..

  • thank you. stupid trolls who rag on people and then don't even know the terminology.

  • Speaking of dumb people, Its called a fucking "magazine" not a clip! Get your facts straight before running your mouth.

  • looks pretty good, but your trigger finger is too far into the trigger... you want to use basically the middle region of the first digit of your finger to pull the trigger, when your finger is that far onto and into the trigger the back of the grip of the gun wont be flat in the palm of your trigger hand

  • thanks for the advice buddyboy

now do me a favor and learn how to read

  • no prob bob ... I can read.. I just didn't read your video description.. my bad no need to be an ass.. which it seems like from your video description in itself you seem to be on a regular occasion

  • Do you feel better about your initial inability to read now that you've been an ass to me in return?

  • looks like a kleenon grip from star track lol!!

  • LOL

  • flames!!!!!!!

  • muito bomm

  • the .40 doesn't have that much kick.

  • Yeah it was designed to be a much lighter round in terms of recoil than the 10mm the FBI used to use, apaprently smaller men and female staff were having trouble with the recoil, so they designed the .40 to have similar stopping power, but much less recoil, I think by simply using something similar to the size of a 9mm case, and so therefore less powder is used.

  • yea... and .45 cal would go through bodies and potentially hit friendlies, thats why a .40 cal was introduced.

  • What!? A .45 round is fat and slow; its power comes from that fact. It is a big round that travels relatively slow, but it has weight behind it. But, because it is a large caliber, it also mushrooms much more, thus decreasing the risk that it will cause harm to those behind the target. It lost its favor for 3 reasons: it is horrible a penetrating barriers, it is expensive, and standard magazines don't hold as many rounds. Simlatio's comment is fairly accurate as to why the .40 came about.

  • i was just say what i heard on the history channel what a gun maker said about a .40

  • Define slow. Either way, it's lethal.

  • 900 fps or slightly more or less depending on load. It is the mass and the mushrooming of that mass that make the .45 ACP effective. That is good. But, the bad is lower magazine capacity and heavier weight. Personally, I love my 1911, but I like my P229 .40 S&W a hell of a lot better. I don't like 9 mm unless it is just for training (i.e. I don't carry 9mm).

  • Are you a fucking moron? That is not much kick at all. A 9mm probably has more than that.

  • Sorry my friend you are just plain wrong. The .40S&W has much greater recoil than the 9mm. The laws of physics just will not be ignored. A 155 grain bullet at 1100 FPS will produce approximately 34% more recoil thana a 115 grain (mm bullet at approx 1115 fps (a standard hollowpoint loading). The .40S&W round achieves approximately 95% of the energy and performance of the 10 MM magnum round.

  • Ah thank you, I must have listened wrongly and gotten them mixed up, afterall, I was listening to some guy who owned one rail on about it, and by listen I mean tuned in and out, hence why I stated "I hear" rather than clearly express "in actual fact"...thank you kindly for the physics behind it, I am sure everyone is pleased to learn this aspect of it in a little more depth.

  • I just went to the shooting range today and shot both a 9mm and a 40 S&W and to me the have virtually identical recoil. Both are quite mild and have very little kick.

  • Well that's what I heard, and I guess 34% as the guy said below of extra recoil would not be very noticeable, but who cares right? They both go bang and kick and hit things at a distance, what more could you want? :D

  • gotta agree with u man. law of physics. remember .40 is only a bit smaller than the .45 so it has to have a bigger kick than the 9mm

  • What state is this range in? Sigs are def the best.

  • Any ammo cost difference between .40 and .45 cal?

  • Recoil looks very manageable.

  • Adjust your grip...

  • One more comment about the grip! Please!

There's not enough of you gun experts around youTube to teach everyone!

  • But seriously! Adjust your grip.

  • Sig makes excellent pistols. I have a p-229 in 40 and I purchased a spare barrel for it to shoot 357 sig.

They now have a conversion kit for it as well so you can shoot 22's out of it for a lot less money.

I have put thousands of rounds through my SIG and it has never jammed. Really excellent gun that you could bet your life on.

  • I just got the conversion kit. Site picture never moves, plus you can shoot it in your backyard!

  • hmmmm......I'm debating on which .40 cal I should get, this one, an HK USP, Beretta 96, or the CZ 75 B....what do you guys think?

  • I personally prefer sigs over anything else... but Im still kinda new to guns. I would say go to the gun shop and see which one feels right but thats just me. Happy shooting!!!

  • I've had both HK and Sig. Just traded in the HK for a P229 best decision I've made regarding firearm purchases. You wont regret it.

  • I know what you mean nothing nice to say.....tell em all to "F" off

  • OMG one more comment about the grip posture please!!! theres not enough.

  • *coughcoughteacuppingcoughcough*

  • yer holding it wrong.

  • you no its a thing called grouping try to do it next time and your thumbs should be on top of one another

  • ur wrapping your thumms wrong buddy.

  • thanks for the tip buddy

    it's not me shooting buddy

  • lol

  • i understand where your comming from by saying there is no need to practice with anything bigger than a 9mm.....but on the other hand ive always been tought that you practice with what your going to use/carry i my self have a wide range of firarms and when i practice i use my sig 229 or my glock 30 aswell as my ar15 what is the point of using only small cal. to practice and when you need your weapon you cant do worth a shit with somthing more suitable for welll...killing

  • @awil222 +1 Amen. I'm not going to tell anyone what caliber to use, since any caliber can be leathal with a well placed shot, but you need to practice with your chosen defense pistol as often as possible. Everyone thought I was crazy for going to my handgun carry course with my .45 Beretta Cougar while everyone else was shooting .22's, .38's, & 9mm, but that was my chosen defense pistol. I finished at the top of my class with a perfect score at the range & proved I knew how to use it!

  • hey your holding the hand gun wronge dude right thumb top and left on bottom with firm grip.

  • wow, very interesting grip. Unique. How was the accuracy?

    Anyway, different strokes......

  • i was gonna say that too.. to me it look like the gun was gonna fall off his grip

  • Try to squeeze the trigger when you fire instead of pulling it.

  • Tell your buddy to keep his finger off the trigger till he's on target.

  • you ought to search youtube for a better shooting/holding/whatever technique

  • I don't think that YouTube is the best source for proper "shooting/holding/whatever" technique...

and this is not ME shooting... look at m other videos where I'm shooting... I prefer to shoot one-handed :)

  • one handed? What calibers? Most Police and M ilitary use two hand grip! Interesting outlook!

  • I don't shoot anything above 40 ... never felt the need... I just shoot at pieces of paper

  • "I just shoot at pieces of paper " I think that most of us do! There are hunters, I am not one of them that shoot at dangerous deer and wicked bear. You have to watch out for those dasterdly fowl. I am like you shoot at the vicious paper tarkets, sometimes steel. t I have to tell you that if you are a goblin and come to hurt America, my family or myself I can easily convert into shooting you. From paper to goblins, I have no problem with that!

  • exactly, I'm not hunting wild game... I see absolutely no need to go to anything bigger than a 9mm really, when practice shooting... some people need to compensate for other things and insist on getting a 50 cal to prove who's the man to a piece of paper

  • You must be pretty bad ass to do shit like that

  • hahahahaha +1

  • You use to much finger on your pulls. I bet all your shots went to the the right?

  • Nice, but your buddy needs to learn to count his shots.
