I don't understand; what is the connection between Shen, Yan and Yeung? I feel like the movie never explained Yeung's background!?! What was his connection to Sam, and why is he so friendly with Yan and Shen? How is everything connected?! THE MOVIE DOESN'T EXPLAIN! NGHH!!
Shen is supposedly a big triad boss from the mainland china who wants to do some illegal trades with Sam. However, Shen is really a cop I guess from the mainland in undercover. Yeung is a cop that deals with interpol stuffs; his dealings with Sam is just an exchange of information like how HK cops pays lowbie thugs on the streets for info. as their "string" person.
Forgot to mention as well; reason why he was so friendly with both of them its because they're all cops? lol If you watched the trilogy and follow the flashbacks or this clip actually you see that they realize they're all cops and thats how their friendship began. It also stated that both Yan and Yeung were in the academy together and it was Yeung who open the gates when Yan was "kicked out." Yeung remember Yan well because it was the reason how he won his best achievement award.
