We are so wretched and He is so worthy, we are so base but He is so holy, praise, glory, honour and adoration only to the WISE KING ETERNAL, Jesus Christ our Lord
This is such a beautiful song. I was on a long trip this weekend, and the entire time the third line kept running through my head, driving me crazy until I was able to get home and listen to it again! I didn't mind, of course, because it's such a great song--beautiful music, even more beautiful lyrics. I'm so happy we have a great high priest!
I love that no matter where you are or when you watch this, during the duration of the video alone Jesus is going throughout the earth healing someone who is sick, feeding someone who is starved, comforting someone who is hurt, helping someone who is lost, saving someone who is dead. This simple message is changing lives in every corner of the earth, in every situation and in all people, even at this very moment. God is great!
I am a worship leader for a church in the Twin Cities. Today, I came across the lyric for this song (never having heard the melody), and became convinced I HAD to learn it in time to teach it to the congregation this Sunday. Tonight, I sat down in front of my computer and listened, and I just came undone. This is the True Gospel. Our church body is going to be so blessed to have the truth of this song wash over them. Thank you for sharing this!
He is my advocate....The King of Kings and Lord of Lords with eyes like fire, a crown with many stars and The name that is above every other name in this age and the one to come is MY advocate and PRAYS for me....I can't wait to give you the worship and praise that you forever deserve my God. I can't stop looking up and listening for that reality shattering shout....I can't wait!
Furthermore, God loves us as a father loves their child. As a parent, we long to have a child but we can't force them to love us or obey us. Just in the same way, God created us with freedom! The freedom to love Him or deny Him. It's in Galatians 5.
"Because a sinless Saviour died, my sinful soul is counted free. For God the Just is satisfied, to look on him and pardon me, to look on him and pardon me."
quick question, can anyone tell me why jesus dying means that he died for all mankind? wasnt he executed? dont you think he would rather have not died? i mean they forced him to die. he didnt choose it, did he? before jesus did people just go to some purgatory? why would god make creatures prone to sin, then tell them by means of a mortal man, rather than something irrefutable and powerful, that you cant do the things people naturally do? that he himself made you to do? im not being mean btw.
@TheWatchGoesTick Do this. Go to gotquestions (dot) org. Type "why did Jesus have to die" in the search box in the upper right hand corner. And read the second answer (link) that comes up. That website can answer those questions (and more!) for you better than I can.
Thanks for asking and I know you were not being mean! Keep searching and questioning. That's what I did. And just like me, you'll find the answers you are looking for if you look hard enough.
@Maxfli82 Or go to the Book of John in the Bible. It explains how Jesus had to die because it fulfilled the Old Testament regulations of the lamb being sacrificed on behalf of the sins of the people..notice that Jesus is called the Lamb of God :-) @TheWatch,may I respectfully disagree? I think resources are awesome and serve an excellent purpose but the Bible is the main source of all truth...so just keep that in mind...I'm not saying you're wrong...just- make sure to point people to God's word
@TheWatchGoesTick Hello, how are you? So basically, Jesus resembles a lamb. in the Old Testament, you would sacrifice a lamb so you can transfer your sin to the lamb and receive forgiveness. So Jesus walked the earth, and never, not even ONCE sinned. He was/is perfect. So then he clamed to be the son of God which he was and the Jews didnt want to accept that, and Jesus knew that they were going to kill him (because they said he was blaspheming which means taking the place of God). So then they..
@TheWatchGoesTick tortured Jesus and put him on a cross, and he had the power to come down and kill everyone, but Jesus is so good he said "Forgive them father, for they do not know what they are doing!" Jesus is so merciful, he wants the best for us. He know''s we're human and he wants us to develop a relationship with him and become righteous and develop a character like God so then when Jesus comes down from heaven, we can come up and be with him because we reflect a righteous character :)
@TheWatchGoesTick Thanks for taking the time and asking this question! Jesus died for all because God wants all men to be saved, not just Americans, Asians, Africans, or canadians. He wants all men to be saved through His son Jesus Christ. ( 1 Timothy 2:4-6) He doesn't make us sin. Yes temptation is allowed to come our way, but there is always another way out; not necessarily a way that pleasing us or makes us happy, but a way that is right and just. It is just hard to do sometimes.

@TheWatchGoesTick Here is the story in a nutshell. God created the world perfect and good, and gave Man free will. Because of that Man sinned. The penalty of sin is death. This is a spiritual kind of death which means separation from God. God is holy and righteous and anything that is not holy and righteous cannot be in his presence. Because we have sinned and we must pay for that sin by being separated from God (death), God provided sacrifices that can die in our place. That is why in ancient..
@TheWatchGoesTick ...Israel (sorry I ran out of space), they sacrificed pure lambs. A perfect sacrifice was to take the place of sinners and die instead of sinners. But of course this was insufficient. Animals cannot die instead of humans. But there is not nor has ever been a perfect human who is willing to come and be a sacrifice. This is why God sent Jesus, his son, to live a perfect life and die in our behalf. So anyone who accepts the sacrifice Jesus did for them has their sins...
@TheWatchGoesTick ...transferred (sorry ran out of space again), to Jesus and God only sees Jesus' righteousness in you. So that you can spend eternity with God. That is why Jesus had to die, to pay for the sins of all who are willing to accept the sacrifice so they wouldn't have to. You are right in saying he would rather not have died, in fact he prayed not to, but chose to submit himself to the will of the Father who asked him to do it. God created people prone to sin because he wanted to ...
@TheWatchGoesTick ...give people the choice to choose to love him or reject him. He did not want to force people to love him (that wouldn't be love). I am not sure I understand your last question so maybe you can clarify. Are you unsure of why he chose to reveal himself through Jesus? or are you referring to the Bible?
@TheWatchGoesTick Try reading one of the Gospels (mathew, mark, luke, john) one of those books..make sure you read carefully and most of your questions will be answered..maybe not right away but by the end..go to a church and ask the pastor as well. He will be glad to tell you. and just pray man! Jesus loves us.
@TheWatchGoesTick In the old testament times, people sacfificed animals to God to "wash" their sins. But animals are animals, they kept on having to sacrifice over and over because they were not the perfect sacrifices. Even from the beginning Jesus knew that he was going to die because that's why he came to earth, to become the perfect sacrifice. Jesus never sinned and he lived a life that God made us to live and he even died for us so that by his blood we would be freed of sin forever.
@TheWatchGoesTick Alright first... He's God... and if you knew your bible or even read it at all you would know that God so loved theearth he gave his omly son so that you may get to heaven... he died for everyones sins but they are not forgiven you have to ask for forgivness. he did this not only to save us but so it is easier to get to heaven so we don't have to make sacrifices to him daily I wish i had more space to answere your questions but why should you ask? you have a website to go to.
@Icehead3211 you were right when you started. Jn 3:16. However, nowhere in the Bible does it say that we have to ask for forgiveness in order to receive salvation. The only thing you have to do to be saved is believe JC died on the cross to pay for your sins. "that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life".
@TheWatchGoesTick Sir you are wise in asking these questions! Thank you for doing so. I do believe that what Maxfli82 said has helped you. Though if you have anymore questions, it would be my pleasure, if you messaged me your questions. I know... I still have questions myself, but I know that asking all of those questions that you have asked has lead me down the right path. Bless you with the knowledge that you're looking for,
@TheWatchGoesTick Oh sorry, one more thing. If people are bashing on you for asking these questions, or seem to come down hard on you, don't worry, they aren't perfect. Neither am I. Do not let them push them away from what you ask. ^_^ Be encouraged
@TheWatchGoesTick No one who truly believes that Jesus is who he says he is will think you are being mean. When God created people, He gave us free will as a gift. The world he created was perfect, and no one did anything wrong. God had perfect fellowship with his prized and adored creation. But the problems with free will is that people can choose to disobey, and that's what they did. When God came to earth in the form of Jesus, it was to restore that perfect fellowship....
@TheWatchGoesTick : Hey, Jesus died for All man kind because He CHOSE to do so. I'll try and answer your questions to the best of my ability: If your familiar w/ the Old Testament, or let's go broader, any religion.... you can even take the Aztecs (Native Americans) --- throughout History. Blood was always shed as a sacrifice right? There are wars and blood is always shed...as payment.. Now back to the Old Testament. You know Adam and Eve, well they ate fruit that the devil tempted them with. &
@ShepherdOfLove: their eyes were open, make it short, sin became prevalent. God gave the people the 10 commandments. As yourself this question: Have you ever lied, broken any of the commandments? Of course you have, because all man kind has fallen short to the glory of God. God says our righteousnesses is as filthy rags and its true. We cannot approach a Holy God with the sin in our lives. That's why in the Old Testament a pure lamb was offered as a sacrifice. But, man was still living in sin.
@TheWatchGoesTick: So God in His mercy, sent down His only begotten Son. Who was willing to die for mankind. Jesus Christ the pure lamb of God, spotless, and without sin, was offered as a sacrifice for payment for all our sins. He payed a debt we could not pay so out of pure Love Jesus PAID a debt He did NOT owe.So we may stand without blemish and without sin. Once we accept the payment God paid for us, & cleanse ourselves in His Holy Blood, we receive the Holy Spirit, turn away from our sins
@TheWatchGoesTick: And to follow Him, conforming into His likeness. He did this, so we could enter heaven pure and blameless. He is the Way, Truth, and Life... He humbled Himself for us, and died for us, so we could live for Him. & Not only did He die, but he Rose up on the third day, confirming out Hope in Him. Our Hope is Risen & Alive. ------- Hope that helps!
@TheWatchGoesTick : Also.... try reading the New Testament. Take a Bible and read.. You'll understand it much better. If you truly in your heart are looking for true answers and humble yourself, God will most definitely reveal it to you through His Word.
@TheWatchGoesTick So Jesus is all powerful, He healed the sick and lepers, He can walk on water. If He wanted to He could have left when He was arrested, or when He was dragging the cross to the mountain or crucified. But because of His love for each one of us He chose to stay there and die for us so that we can join Him in heaven. When God made us He didn't want to make androids who did everything His way, He wanted us to have free will. He knew we would sin but by his grace he forgives us.

@TheWatchGoesTick Good questions! We as human beings are so sinful. But God sent his one and only son, Jesus, to die for us so that he can cleanse us from our sins! His death meant washing our sins away. By being cleanse of our sins, we are able to be with God and have a relationship with Him.
Jesus knew that He was born to die for us and chose to! That's how much He loves us. Because if He didn't die for us, then we would never be cleanse and thus be with God.
@TheWatchGoesTick He actually didn't have to die. He was accused for blasphemy by the religious leaders...and they really didn't like Jesus challenging their traditions (traditions that strayed from original laws made my God in the Old Testament). They held an illegal trial and asked him if he really claimed to be the Son of God, and he could have kept his mouth shut. By answering their question, he actually gave himself a death sentence and died so that we can choose to live.
@TheWatchGoesTick Hey, email me at Hick998 @aim.com if you want. (I had to put a space before the @ sign, otherwise it wouldn't show up).....I will answer any questions you have, if you would like. Hope to hear from you!
@TheWatchGoesTick I've got a couple answers, these are all legit questions. Firstly, Jesus's execution wasn't what solidified our salvations, instead it was symbolic of how fall mankind had fallen. The reason we gain salvation from it is because God poured out on Jesus the "iniquities of us all," punishing Him for all sins. He was able to do it because He hadn't sin, He became sin, which knew no sin."
@TheWatchGoesTick Because if he hadn't of died, we would have to have gone thru what He did. He did not want to die, but he died for his Father God. He Knew if he did not go thru it, then His Children (US) would have to go thru what he did. So as a Father of His Children, he took the beatings, the blood & the crucifixtion so that his children would not have to go thru it. ...As any (normal) Father or Mother would do..die for their children..I hope.
The Bible teaches that Christ willingly laid HIs life down. Yes, He was executed by the Romans at the bequest of the Jews, however He went to the cross willingly. Secondly, Jesus was not just mortal. He was the Son of God in the flesh. He live, died, and rose again. The Bible declares that He was seen in the flesh, having been resurected from the dead, with many irrefutable signs. The Bible also teaches that we are baptized (immersed) into His death and are thus baptized into His life.

I would love to answer this question for you. And am excited you have asked it. You can even inbox me if you'd like to continue the conversation.
Christ DID chose to die, first of all. Jesus says in John 10:17-18 that no man takes His life from Him, but He lays it down willingly for the sheep. He has authority to lay it down and pick it back up again. That is because Christ IS God. He laid down His life because all men (because of our sin, against a Holy God) stood condemned.
Because we aren't Holy and up to God's standard, just like any good judge in a court He had to find us guilty for breaking His laws (10 commandments and such (actually over 630 laws in old testament)). I mean, you wouldn't want a judge to let a criminal go free in this country would you? No way. We're in the same position before God.
Ok, Before Jesus died... it was the same as after He died. Those who believed God's promise were counted righteous (I can give you verses later)
After Christ rose from death those who had believed also rose. Those who choose to never believe go to hell. No purgatory. As far as creatures prone to sin... God created us with free will. We were created to be in fellowship with Him, and love Him, but would you want the love of someone of whom you've forced them to love you? Neither does God, so He gave us a choice, and yes, gave up His ability to force us. Just like a parent: you want your kid to love you, but not falsely.
Ok, as far as "signs": well, there were prophets doing miracles, then Christ came and resurrected to validate His message. Pretty powerful to me. Remember, men of Christ's time didn't have a Bible, so there were miracles; but now we have a Bible (God's inspired Word, and living truth) so we don't need the miracles (or at least shouldn't). Christ said blessed are those who believe, but MORESO those who haven't seen, and believe. And I understand you're not being mean.
My friend, if you seriously want to know the truth, I want you asking. This is my calling. Historical evidence backs up this. Roman and Jewish history accounts of what was told in the Bible, that all these men existed, and the only real historical division is over Christ's resurrection. The miracles were not argued against (if there were no miracles then what did they accuse Him of?) God Bless you in your search for Christ. I pray that you will find Him. Inbox me anytime.
@TheWatchGoesTick Jesus is God, all things were made through him, and his primary purpose to become man was to die as punishment for mankind because of the sin curse all have inherited since Adam's fall. As God he could have escaped easily enough but deliberately chose that method, time and place. Before that event, man approached perfect and holy God also by faith expressed primarily through various sacrifices.
@TheWatchGoesTick From what I know, and don't hold me to most of this cause this is just what i've learned, and I'm still a child at that... For God's wrath to be "quenched" or satisfied, instead of wiping out mankind as a whole, he sent his only son to die for us. The reason Jesus was chosen was because he was God in the flesh, meaning even though he was of this earth (sinful) he resisted all temptation and sin and was the "spotless Lamb". If any "mortal man" tried this, he would have easily
@TheWatchGoesTick died and given into temptation. jesus accepted being crucified, because, being God in the flesh, knew there wasn't any other way to save the people He loved, his creation, his children. From what I know of purgatory, it's a place where people go to atone for the bad things they've done BEFORE going to heaven. Kinda like paying a debt. That's about as much as I can answer. AGAIN, don't hold me to all this, its just what I personally was taught.
@TheWatchGoesTick God's viewpoint is not linear. People before Jesus were saved by grace through faith in Jesus the same way we are. Jesus' death was retroactive as well as proactive. He died one time for all time for all sin. We look back to the cross whereas those before looked foreward to the cross by believing in the promises that God made through the prophets in regard to salvation through a messiah.
@TheWatchGoesTick He didn't have to accept the execution. He came to earth to die for the sin of the world. Read the scriptures.... "For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning it's shame."
@TheWatchGoesTick Great questions, but the answers won't and can't be quick, because the entire thing is so miraculous. The clinching point is...Jesus didn't just die, because like you say, any mortal man can do that. Jesus *rose from the dead*. Only God can do that. You see, Jesus isn't just a man, but God himself (something else amazing and glorious). He chose, out of love, to give up His glory and become a man so that He could atone for us on the cross and spend eternity with us. Isn't that..
I'd like to clarify what ganonhero said though - Jesus wasn't "sinful" at all; if He was, He couldn't represent us as a spotless lamb. And also, purgatory does not exist, as it is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible. If something doesn't have a Biblical foundation, it's not safe to believe.
There is so much more to say. I pray you will keep asking questions and find the answers - a great way is to read the Bible itself, or ask a Christian or visit a church.
@TheWatchGoesTick Jesus was the perfect man, so when he sacrificed himself, he created a bridge between God and Earth. In the begining, we not prone to sin. God gave us a choice and we made the wrong one. God is Holy, so he cant live by sinners on earth.
I know everyone is giving you answers. I've got (what I think) to be one of the best. When people sinned during the old covenant they atoned by giving a Blood Atonement, where by sacrificing a spotless animal they could pass their sin onto that animal.
The beauty of Christ is that He was a spotless man, and in His divinity, on the cross he took all the sins onto Himself (like the lamb) to provide atonement for all who believe. It wasn't the cross, it was what He did on it.
@itskragus True to an extent brother. Be careful here tho, no animal ever actually atoned for sin, rather it was all a foreshadowing of Christ. Blood Sacrifices were part of the law. And Scripture says "If righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose." In the act of animal sacrifice Jews were only passing their sin onto Christ. Hope this helps. Peace of Christ to you.
@itskragus my quote? Galatians 2:21, and as for the position as a whole, check out Hebrews 10. This particular passage quotes from, I believe, Hosea and Psalms. I take no notion of disrespect, as I meant none by my comment or this reply. Only hope to promote the truth of the Gospel through the revelation of his word, but sometime our flesh mistake ideas about scripture for what scripture actually says.
@TheWatchGoesTick In order for God to save us from eternal damnation and to take our sins into His own hands, He first had to become of flesh and show that He can live our life without a blemish. Tempted and tried as we are, he resisted and made no sin against anyone or the Father of our eternal life. When Jesus died he paid a debt that he did not owe, He bought those who believe He was God's Son and our way to salvation, when He died on the cross. Jesus means Emmanuel which means God with us
Four reasons why I think there is no god; A) Total absence from the natural world. No sign of a god, before, during or after, natural disastres B) The absolute absence of favoritism towards believers. Even churches need lightning-rods to protect them from god. C) The absence of any reaction, when crimes are committed in his name. C) The suffering of the innocent. One could accept that the guilty must suffer, but children ???
Possibly the greatest song ever written. I cannot listen it without breaking down and crying. Our wonderful worship leader, Rick T. came and sang this to my precious mom as she lay on her death bed and then again at her funeral two days later.Yes, I'm crying right now. :) Praise your Holy Name Jesus, All honor and glory and thanksgiving be unto you God ~
@JudyGurl What a wonderful Christian testimony by giving praise to God even in your suffering. He never promised any Christian an easy life. He uses our trials to refine our character and strengthen our faith. If you and your mom are true believers, you will see your mom again in heaven one day in a glorified and healthy body. You two will worship God together beautifully. Glad this song has ministered to you
Common man`s reasons why god does not exist A) total absence from from natural events, No sig of a god before, during or after natural events. B)The total absence of favoritism towards believers. Even church steeples need lightning rods for protection against god.C) The absence of any reaction, when crimes are committed in his name. D) The suffering of the innocent. One could accept suffering of the guilty, but little children
God created polio, science cured it. God created small pox, science cured it. God created leprosy, science cured it. God created 2.million different illnesses, science has found cures for many. God created infertility, science invented IN-VITRO and an estimated 15 million new lives. God`s life averaged 45 years, science extended it to 75. 100.000 innocent children died in Haiti suffocating beneath the rubble. This allmighty god, didn`t lift a finger to help.Praise be to god !!
"Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. " James 1:26
@AnihiIus Got any thing better to do than go round searching for swear words ? "Ass" is also a term for a donkey, maybe that should have been blanked out of the bible.
@peterkidd27 Do you know how the sun burns? A process called nuclear fission, where He- atoms break into H- atoms and give off energy, however, the source of that energy is unknown, because it takes no energy to bond two H- molecules, and by the preservation of energy there should be no energy, but there is. There is my proof.
@itskragus theres alot of things that are unknown, just because there is an unknown doesnt mean theres a god. since you wanna talk about science though, your book said the earth was created 6,000 years ago. and theres hundreds of artifacts that have been carbon dated ALOT earlier.
@peterkidd27 The Big Bang could not of happened without a supernatural power instigating it. Where did that packet of energy come from. Surely nothing comes from nothing. Life cannot come from nothing. That's spontaneous generation. That's my proof that there must be a God.
My favorite verse: "When satan tempts me to despair, and tells me of the guilt within, upward I look and see him there, who made an end to all my sin."
in 1979 i put my faith in jesus and salvation the bible way about 2 weeks latter my mind exploded at work and a man from iraq was laughing and read my thoughs and gave me that verse being in Gods hand and ask what happened did god lie to you ,he said laughing let me know he might have put something in my soda at work ,been totaly messed up never since even after 30 years of Bible church prayer .
@737flyhigh also check out a guy by the name of Rob Rufus, amazing speaker on grace and miracles, he's been a great influence, i recently had an amazing miracle in my life with my mind and health with God.
I'm the worship pastor of my church. Is there any way to get a copy of this video for my church? I would prefer a wmv file format, but will take what I can get. Thanks for posting! Wonderful! God bless!
I just worshiped the Lord with these guys tonight. And they finished the set with this song. We sang the chorus ten times at the end and by the last few times the guitars were down, everyone left the stage, and when we finished singing there was no one to clap for, they left us standing at the cross of Christ. And no one could say a word.
This is the best contemporary rendition of this classic hymn I've ever heard. CCM needs to learn from old classic hymns like this one and drop much of their feel-good theology in their songs and return to hard-hitting, in-your-face biblical teachings. Soli Deo Gloria.
I already know of a couple of GREAT Christian metal bands. For example, one of my all time favorites, Becoming the Archetype. I absolutely love their cover of "How Great Thou Art".
I really love when worship leaders and musicians bring us historic hymns that have been sung by generations before. Connecting with their words and songs reminds us that the faith we know was carried to us through faithful generations past and applies to us today and tomorrow!

Furthermore, God loves us as a father loves their child. As a parent, we long to have a child but we can't force them to love us or obey us. Just in the same way, God created us with freedom! The freedom to love Him or deny Him. It's in Galatians 5.

quick question, can anyone tell me why jesus dying means that he died for all mankind? wasnt he executed? dont you think he would rather have not died? i mean they forced him to die. he didnt choose it, did he? before jesus did people just go to some purgatory? why would god make creatures prone to sin, then tell them by means of a mortal man, rather than something irrefutable and powerful, that you cant do the things people naturally do? that he himself made you to do? im not being mean btw.

Icehead3211 1 year ago
@Icehead3211 you were right when you started. Jn 3:16. However, nowhere in the Bible does it say that we have to ask for forgiveness in order to receive salvation. The only thing you have to do to be saved is believe JC died on the cross to pay for your sins. "that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life".

He was able to do it because He hadn't sin, He became sin, which knew no sin."
itskragus 10 months ago 2

@TheWatchGoesTick
RyouNtheFaith 10 months ago
@TheWatchGoesTick
RyouNtheFaith 10 months ago
@TheWatchGoesTick

@TheWatchGoesTick

Mike115219 8 months ago
@TheWatchGoesTick From what I know, and don't hold me to most of this cause this is just what i've learned, and I'm still a child at that... For God's wrath to be "quenched" or satisfied, instead of wiping out mankind as a whole, he sent his only son to die for us. The reason Jesus was chosen was because he was God in the flesh, meaning even though he was of this earth (sinful) he resisted all temptation and sin and was the "spotless Lamb". If any "mortal man" tried this, he would have easily
ganonhero 8 months ago
@TheWatchGoesTick died and given into temptation. jesus accepted being crucified, because, being God in the flesh, knew there wasn't any other way to save the people He loved, his creation, his children. From what I know of purgatory, it's a place where people go to atone for the bad things they've done BEFORE going to heaven. Kinda like paying a debt. That's about as much as I can answer. AGAIN, don't hold me to all this, its just what I personally was taught.
ganonhero 8 months ago
@TheWatchGoesTick God's viewpoint is not linear. People before Jesus were saved by grace through faith in Jesus the same way we are. Jesus' death was retroactive as well as proactive. He died one time for all time for all sin. We look back to the cross whereas those before looked foreward to the cross by believing in the promises that God made through the prophets in regard to salvation through a messiah.
adavis61204 7 months ago
@TheWatchGoesTick He didn't have to accept the execution. He came to earth to die for the sin of the world. Read the scriptures.... "For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning it's shame."
souperbeck 6 months ago
@TheWatchGoesTick Great questions, but the answers won't and can't be quick, because the entire thing is so miraculous. The clinching point is...Jesus didn't just die, because like you say, any mortal man can do that. Jesus *rose from the dead*. Only God can do that. You see, Jesus isn't just a man, but God himself (something else amazing and glorious). He chose, out of love, to give up His glory and become a man so that He could atone for us on the cross and spend eternity with us. Isn't that..
chizzieshark 4 months ago
@TheWatchGoesTick ...mindblowing?
I pray you will keep asking questions and find the answers - a great way is to read the Bible itself, or ask a Christian or visit a church.
chizzieshark 4 months ago
@TheWatchGoesTick Jesus was the perfect man, so when he sacrificed himself, he created a bridge between God and Earth. In the begining, we not prone to sin. God gave us a choice and we made the wrong one. God is Holy, so he cant live by sinners on earth.
Aires190 4 months ago
@TheWatchGoesTick
It wasn't the cross, it was what He did on it.
itskragus 4 months ago
@itskragus True to an extent brother. Be careful here tho, no animal ever actually atoned for sin, rather it was all a foreshadowing of Christ. Blood Sacrifices were part of the law. And Scripture says "If righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose." In the act of animal sacrifice Jews were only passing their sin onto Christ. Hope this helps. Peace of Christ to you.

@ClutchZ28 I mean no disrespect, but is that in the scriptures?
itskragus 3 months ago
@itskragus my quote? Galatians 2:21, and as for the position as a whole, check out Hebrews 10. This particular passage quotes from, I believe, Hosea and Psalms. I take no notion of disrespect, as I meant none by my comment or this reply. Only hope to promote the truth of the Gospel through the revelation of his word, but sometime our flesh mistake ideas about scripture for what scripture actually says.
ClutchZ28 3 months ago

You two will worship God together beautifully. Glad this song has ministered to you

A process called nuclear fission, where He- atoms break into H- atoms and give off energy, however, the source of that energy is unknown, because it takes no energy to bond two H- molecules, and by the preservation of energy there should be no energy, but there is.

How do they make the guitar resound like that? So amazing.

Such a wonderful thing to ponder the Truth of our salvation thru our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You Jesus!

This is the best contemporary rendition of this classic hymn I've ever heard. CCM needs to learn from old classic hymns like this one and drop much of their feel-good theology in their songs and return to hard-hitting, in-your-face biblical teachings. Soli Deo Gloria.

I think I sang this song about five times just now. I'm a big metalhead, but this song is great!

Well if you're Christian and a metalhead, I suggest a band called Stryper

I already know of a couple of GREAT Christian metal bands. For example, one of my all time favorites, Becoming the Archetype. I absolutely love their cover of "How Great Thou Art".

I really like the picture that shows Jesus cradling the guy that's crying in his arms. That one touched me.

I really love when worship leaders and musicians bring us historic hymns that have been sung by generations before. Connecting with their words and songs reminds us that the faith we know was carried to us through faithful generations past and applies to us today and tomorrow!
