yeah, Alex Turner here too ;) but most importantly, Alex has a great taste in music and has allowed this generation to appreciate greats like Patsy. so, thanks alex.
the best female singer of all time.....bringing back the good old days :) .........i love her music bcuz she is so passionate about it and she doesnt put on a whole bunch of make up................its her natural inner n outer beauty.... thank you for writing music, patsy cline will be withme forevr thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!! <3
The BEST female country singer / talent of all time and I'm not even into country, but I've always loved this lady's unique and golden voice and can listen to "her" for hours! Still unmatched to this very day. What a sad, tragic and early loss of such a great irreplaceable talent. PEACE
I'll always hold a fantasy love for this beautiful lady! I was only 13 when Patsy came to Knoxville for a tour in 61, or 62. I can't believe I got to be right up front near her. As she sang, "Crazy," she just happened to look left and ever so briefly caught the eye of this dopey, sandy haired and gangly teenager and put her hand downed and I got to touch her hand for just a second. Stupid I know, but a memory that still haunts me to this day.
"How strange." I am now 85 years old and I ask you to indulge me for my past memories. It was Patsy's voice and this song in particular that reigned supreme that July day in 1963. I had recently seperated from my wife Irene. I was on the road summer of 1963 and was tired after a 13 hour run. I stopped in this little cafe in Pennsylvania during the afternoon of July 1963. They had a jukebox. I put my dime in for this particular hit. A girl named joyce joined me that afternoon.
Um, Kid Cudi is okay (amazing, by today's standards.) I can stand him, but to mention him in the same breath as patsy cline is like comparing Ballantine to Balvenie.
One of the most unique and very best female country / western singers of all time. A truly tragic and young loss of an irreplaceable talent. Hard to imagine she's been gone for 48 yrs. Love this woman's voice to death. Patsy Cline & Roy Orbison---unmatched.
@koriyuu same. didnt even know this song existed till i heard that song. i heard it and was like "that sounds like patsy cline" so i searched it and came across this. what a great song though. i love patsy cline
Patsy Cline was one of the best American vocalists of the 20th Century. She had rich, melodic voice and precise phrasing-can't think of a single song of hers that doesn't sound perfect. I'd say the same about Frank Sinatra.
Thank you for posting this treasure. Patsy wasn' t the most beautiful in the business. She was just the most gifted. She was down to earth, just real and just Patsy. Beautiful unto its self. I hate the tile Queen of or King of, but Ms Cline can qualify. Ms Taylor, you are not country. Stop playing. Go to pop. Ms Lambert, you sure are as hell country Slap Blake. lol just playing. Country is not what it used to be. Too bad. Some of us miss it.
With Patsy Cline,it's hard for one to pick a favorite tune from her roster, but to me this is definitely one of my top ones, along with 1957's 'Walkin' after midnight'.
Relegated to the B-side, this one of those underrated treasures. I heard this other day sampled by an artist called Sharam feat. Kid Cudi, it was REALLY catchy. A further testament to her musical genius and her ability to transcend genres.
I found this song from the cover in the interlude the Arctic Monkeys do on their newest tour in their song Fluorescent Adolescent. Great band, great song.
one thing i love about youtube is it makes it easier to discover talented singers from the past or from other countries that i otherwise would not have heard. this song is great, first heard a clip of it in sharam and kid cudis duo and had to look it up, her voice stands out in the song, i love it.
right? I TOTALLY AGREE! technology and the world we live in are amazing. i originally heard this in the kid cudi song with sharam and then i heard this original at the gym and couldn't get it out of my head. great track, i agree.
@depechefan Yeah well before Sharam redid it, none of us even knew Patsy Cline existed haha So we can thank him for showing us her music. I like all of Patsy's music now.... because of Sharam.
how is that bad? more people knowing who she is? sound like it a good thing...i would be honored to sample a song of hers let alone opening poeple's eyes to other great artists..
living in the year 2010, a lot of young people have not grown up listening to this kind of music or with exposure to it. so the fact that artists like kid cudi are making younger generations aware of this and other good, older music is NOT a bad thing. it's actually really powerful.
discovered this song cuz of Sharam's ecstasy of ibiza remix, he produced the original kid cudi beat... house music and hip hop bringing people together
Victor
1st of all sampling has been going on in hip-hop since the beginning, and you cant lie, sum but not all of hip-hip music that is sampled from an oldies tune like this 1, sound good with a beat to it. Some of the original artists dont like when their music is sampled, but alot do thats why you hear so much of it done, and its not just hip-hop music that samples either. Copying someone or something they do is the highest form of flattery. Personally if they ask my permission first, id say y not?
Why all the thumbs down for seeking out the original Patsy Cline (produced Owen Bradley) recording of Strange after hearing as a sample in Sharam featuring Kid Cudi - She Came Along?
