I totally agree with you Janssen. I experienced this first hand last winter, in an old minivan that had no traction control what so ever. I drove a 95 Plymouth Grand Voyager, completely manual except for the power steering, and we had a serious ice storm. I went no faster than ten miles per hour up hill and five down hill, and I didn't care how long it took me to get home that night. Well, no accidents, and I'm still in one piece.

i know! carry hundreds of pounds of dirt in your trunk.. and have a shooter 10ft in-front of the car to lay a dirt path for you to drive on , if you drive slow enough you wont slip and slide! i don't think its a practical idea but it will get the job done

the input you get from ur car at that time is crucial to adjust speed and braking point.

jejeje, it's funny to see all the expert drivers giving tips... like "let off the brake"... lol !... it's ice for the love of god, you cannot control the car... in fact, if you don't break, it's a slope, so you would in fact gain speed... and if you turn, the car's tail would go off and spin the car.... so think before posting... only thing that could help, is ABS... but not sure how much would it help...

Next time let off the brakes. If the tires are turning they'll steer the vehicle away from the curb. With them locked up there just like skis.
