  • God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve thats all im going to say

  • At least you recognize the separation of church and state, and that the church does not need to legislate morality. However you went off the deep end when you claimed that marriage is the sole creation of christianity. Marriage was a purely secular sacrament until about the 14th or 15th century when the Catholic church absorbed marriage because it was good for business.

  • continued: Many other cultures had forms of marriage independent of christianity, and the bible has so many forms of marriage including incest, polgamy, multiple wives, to a condemnation of marriage by Paul, so it is foolish to claim that the current tradition of marriage has anything to do with the bible.

  • @ainefairygoddess For God's official 'stamp of approval' on marriage, you have to go back to the beginning. Just because the Bible documents some of the misuses of marriage doesn't mean that God condones it. The first marriage was created by the Christian God with the very first 2 people on the planet. So, marriage outside of God's will is just silly when you think about it. Why choose to live against God, yet still try to cling to His systems? Wacky, me thinks.

  • Nice try, but you're still wrong.

Heterosexual pre-marital sex is also wrong.

Does that make me a Hetero-phobe?

  • You are homophobic, after all its 'allowed' because it's in the bible, so don't pretend otherwise. Which is the same reason you are against any pre-marital sex and gay people getting married. Don't cherry pick verses out of the bible to suit your own personal beliefs. If you are living your life by the 'good book' then don't kid yourself about what you believe in and don't be a hypocrite! It's all in your bible so don't be ashamed! Your god tells you to and don't pretend otherwise!

  • You're silly.

I don't cherry pick verses to suit my own personal beliefs.

The Bible IS my own personal beliefs.

What makes you think I was any different from you before I became a Christian?

I'm not AGAINST things that are wrong.

The Bible is AGAINST things that are wrong.

You're merely hating on the messenger.

You can also murder people if you like, but it's still wrong. And, I'm going to tell you the same.

God's truth is God's truth whether you like it or not.

  • You're a deeply pathetic, brainwashed man. Most traditional Christians have a murderous hatred of gays. Why would we want anything to do with Christianity, even for those of us who are abstinent because of HIV/AIDS? You're whited sepulchers and the great shame of Christ.

  • @talkingstatue Anyone who has a murderous hatred of gays is most likely NOT a traditional (real) Christian. If they are, then they're certainly ignorant of the scriptures.

  • @talkingstatue

The problem with your argument is it assumes marriage is a Chirstian Covenant. What bullshit, marriage exists in virtually every culture, including non-Christian ones who have never heard of Jesus. You've just retroactively claimed marriage as an invention of your God by denying history and biology and substituting it for your creation myth. Its like in 1984 when the Party rewrites history to claim Big Brother invented airplanes, it only exists in your faith-based worldview.

  • No reason to get married other than god? So loving somebody so much you want to spend your life with them isnt enough and to celebrate such a commitment with family and friends. That makes no sence?

I wish I could be as dumb as you.

Wow you guys are so passive agressive in your arrogance. Your a sad little race of people.

  • Daniel didn't say it was wrong for lust filled gays to 'love' their partner for life, and he also didn't say you could not or should not celebrate that or anything else with family and friends. One of your friends could play preacher and you could have a mock wedding and oh such a celebration. But if you're really trying to mock God, that party just won't do. You know the video didn't say what you accused.

  • I especially like your subtle finger-pointing, Daniel...Yes, we all will be judged...Even those who would do or wish harm and suffering on their fellow man. Thank about that.

  • Harm, suffering?

  • Marriage should be for all consenting adults who love each other regardless of the sexual orientation.

Straight couples have been getting married for centuries for tax and legal purposes..Gay folks should be excluded because they want to be able to do the same?

Marriage is a creation of man, not God. All of it's tradition, trappings and ceremony are creations of man.

  • (I appreciate the manner in which this video was done, bravo sir, I take your point seriously, even tho I do not agree. There is at least credibility in this) :-)

  • So when it comes down to it, what is it? Christians getting that urky feeling when they hear "same sex MARRIAGE" cause that word MARRIAGE only applies to heterosexual couples? If that's the issue, then essentially...there is no issue.

Equality before religion. Equality before segration. Always. I would assume that would come before anything else in God's book (theoretically speaking, I'm not refering to the bible). But then again, I don't pretend to know what God wants.

  • (continuing from my last comment) However, I haven't really seen that many people up in arms about these non-religious heterosexual couples getting married. Sure, people have a problem with certain other people not being religious, but at this point in history, it's a silly thing to fight, considering america is a melting pot of beliefs. So that being said, this isnt an issue of religion at all, is it? These same sex couples are not forcing catholic churches to marry them.

  • For the majority of same sex couples, marriage is not about religion. It's not about God or the idea that God has any hand in marriage what-so-ever. Yes, marriage is a religious thing, but that is not all it is. There are plenty of heterosexual couples who get married for benefits of the government (you know, those "silly ones" like hospital visitation rights, and what-not). They don't go to church. They don't follow the bible. And sometimes, believe it or not, they don't procreate.

  • Woah, you think that everyone who doesn't conform to your standards is ANTI-christian and this person's relationship only amounts to sex? That's... simply insane. I've no other word for it.

  • hhmm... he has quite a few valid points.

  • Booorrriiinnnggg!

The idea these Krazy Kristian Kultists (KKK) want to define marriage as a "covenant of god" is ridiculous.

These are hate groups with good PR firms, We saw it in California, and now you will see it in Maine.

Do the right thing, Maine, and stand against hatred and inequality.

These so-called Christians, wrapped in the flag and bearing a cross, will do anything to smear their neighbors.

    Is that Christian?

    Love thy neighbor.

  • "The idea these Krazy Kristian Kultists (KKK) want to define marriage as a "covenant of god" is ridiculous."

No, not really. People need learn common sense again and turn homosexuals over to the sexually-confused section of the psychiatric ward.

  • I do agree with your point that marriage is a pretty silly thing. Although, if wanting to legally be able to see your loved one while they're dying in a hospital is a "government hand-out" then shame on you and your arrogance that you justify as religious "humility."

  • Christians don't get to call dibs on marriage. There is marriage in almost every culture and every religion, and you are trying to make claims on something that isn't yours. Even worse, you are sticking your nose where it has absolutely no buisness whatsoever: In peoples' private lives!

I could as well go on and say that heaven is a Muslim thing, so Christians should gtfo.

(You have no idea how much I censored myself while writing that, so please appreciate the lack of profanity)

  • Nope.

Marriage was instituted in the beginning with Adam and Eve.

Since then, cultures have diverted away from God and his ways.

The only reason other cultures have 'marriage' is because they can trace it back to Adam & Eve and more recently to Noah & his family when they got off the ark.

But, if you're going to participate and join in with a pagan culture, then why hang on to one of God's covenants?

    So, just be consistent.

Be anti-God all the way around.

  • Animals mate and many form life-long pairs. God created the animals before he created man. (Actually Genesis 2 has man coming first, but I don't expect you'll acknowledge that contradiction.)

So aren't we all just copying the animals there? They seem to follow "God's covenant" without being sentient. It's a very human thing to do...pair up.

  • @theTRUTHgroup there was no adam and eve. it's a myth. written in a mythical book.

  • dude Christianity came before islam. like at the beginning of time so heaven is actually a christian thing. and marriage started from Christianity the other religions marriage came after. and no one said you get "dibs" on marriage its just that marriage is a covenant to God and also a symbol of our Lord and His Church (being all believers) when 2 people get married the man reps the lord and the lady reps the church. cause you cant have one without the other but that goes to the topic of divorce

  • Stoneofwonder:

Christianity didn't begin until after Jesus' death and resurrection. Christianity hasn't been around forever.

  • cannot stress enough

    SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE

Marriage is no longer a religious thing. It is performed outside of the church now.

And Same-sex couples aren't just looking for "govt' handouts" they simply want to be treated the equally.

And your comment about "current sex partners" is just a stereotype.

And it really blows my mind, why do straight people care if gay people get married? If you think gay marriage is wrong, THEN MARRY SOMEONE OF THE OPPOSITE SEX.

    All BIGOTRY.

  • I just got in on this series at #7 and I'm really liking this! This is excellent, I'm going to enjoy seeing the rest of it. God bless you in your adventures for Christ across this country.

  • The part where he says "In the beginning God created men & women... and thats marriage." is fallicous.

One could just as easily say that marriage is only in the context of Allah, and if you're not a Muslim then marriage is anything beyond sex, etc, etc. Marriage relationships have been around since the man first walked the earth, and your jealous God has nothing to do with it.

  • Thanks, you just proved a point. Also, and yet mankind is stll "walking" the earth. "Lost". (lol)

  • Such a good vid. If you find yourself in Michigan I hope to see you.

  • we as christians are supposed to show love to all people no matter what there bad habits or faults and be a example of Christ! everyone is able to be saved they just have to search with their own will. Jesus doesnt want people that perfect so to speak he wants people that are fallen!

  • but A SHEPPAND WILL BREAK THE LEG OF A LAMB AND CARRY IT UNTILL THE LAMB HEALS

    TO KEEP THE LAMB SAFE

  • That's almost true if you mean He came for the sick. But Jesus did say you must be perfect to enter in heaven (see Matthew 5:48). And that only way is too have His righteousness added to the person.

  • Huh. The Christians and Jews are the only cultures to have come up with the concept of marriage. Who knew?

I think you're an idiot, but at least you don't believe that you have the right to legislatively force your idiocy on me. I think that's the first time I've agreed with you on anything.

  • A thought: Maybe people that aren't Christian don't have to follow a Christian agenda? No... that's silly talk.

  • that was perfectly put Daniel! Great Video! 5stars

  • Third, gay marriage is not the equivalent of a government certified "sex partner." Rather, it allows the couple to enjoy the rights of health benefits, alimony, and inheritance as straight couples enjoy. It is an recognition that the relationship is more than sexual chemistry. Instead, it indicates that the couple wishes to express to each other and their community that they intend to care for each other for better or for worse.

  • @orangegreene...

Just because you redefine what marriage is does not mean that's what it is. A homosexual marriage is an oxymoron, it can't be a marriage because they are the same sex and they don't believe that marriage is an orderly union of man and woman under God. Homosexuality is a fad, a fetish, a perversion, an abomination.

  • Second, he stated that marriage is a Christian covenant. However, in actuality marriage is a covenant practiced by ALL of the worlds major religions. In fact, this covenant predated Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. The covenant benefits its participants regardless of their religious creed.

  • @orangegreene..

I'm sorry but I think you are self deluded to think that marriage predates Judaism/Christianity when they date back to the very beginning about 6,000 years ago. His point is that to those who do not believe in the ways of the God of the bible, marriage is not an orderly bond between a man and woman but just some kind of partnership that involves sex and maybe some love.

  • The speaker made some ridiculous statements.

First, he stated that "if you're not a Christian or a Jew there's no reason to get married in the first place." The marriage relationship predated both of these religions! Non-Christians and non-Jews indeed have many identical reasons for marriage as their Christian and Jewish counterparts. A few of these reasons that transcend religious classifications include financial security, raising of offspring, and societal order.

  • You don't need gods' names to get marry. Marriage is just a name of relationship, People learn the psychology of loving each other. People learn more psychologies killing each other. We learn not to kill close ones yet most of the time the closest around suffers most for our bad things. All relationships are different. Generalizing same sex relationship doesn't make differences disappeared. An honest life worth more and enjoyable when we let go of our bias and understand our natural feelings.

  • "Do not lye with a man as with a woman"

  • Yes! Lesbian sex!

  • I agree. I'm not going to attempt to control this world. Like you said... we're not of this world.

If two homosexuals want to have their 'union', go ahead. It's none of my business.

    As Revelations 22:11 says....

"Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy."

    Nuff said.

  • Oh dear.

  • Man. Truly walking in the Spirit with all Wisdom.

  • Wow! You sound just like Jesus!

  • except for the legal handouts

i think this guy was on point!

  • To make it fair nobody should get benefits from marriage. I agree marriage is pointless, just like religion. For the most part this guy has it right, now he just needs to keep his mouth shut.

  • Since when is hospital visitation a government handout? Since when is who I have inherit my estate a government handout? Why would you think that LEGALLY BINDING 2 loving adults in a LEGAL CONTRACT is a government handout? Take all the sentiment out of it and marriage is a LEGAL CONTRACT between 2 people...Why do you feel you have any business trying to stop me from protecting my loved one? What if GOD is testing you on loving thy neighbor? STOP THE HATE!

    MARRIAGE EQUALITY FOR ALL!

  • Homosexuality is sin according to the bible.

  • and yet...Jews and Atheists still can get married. Marriage is a LEGAL CONTRACT. A black and white LEGAL CONTRACT. We are just asking for the same LEGAL rights that heterosexuals take for granted EVERY DAY. YOU CAN NOT LEGISLATE MORALITY. Not every religion believes in what you believe. But it must give everyone EQUAL PROTECTION OF THE LAW! We are not looking for the religious definition, we are looking for the LEGAL DEFINITION. All men are created EQUAL!

    MARRIAGE EQUALITY FOR ALL!

  • Very true, Danial.

Atheism, is nothing more than a lost soul who is not SEEKING.

  • EXACTLY!!

  • @ sambudwiser

By homosexual lifestyle I mean the on-going practice of love between two people of the same sex.

  • Perhaps I'm slightly confused regarding this video.

Do you mean you believe it's against the Bible to protest and resist gay marriage or things such as abortions?

I agree wholeheartedly that it's okay if I'm looked down upon because of Christ, but if Christ is looked down upon on me--it's NEVER okay.

I believe Christians should stand up for God's word. If I can vote down gay marriage to prevent what God says in an abomination then I believe we have right to do so. In the coming...(cont)...

  • (Christ is looked down upon BECAUSE of me)**

...(cont) generations being gay is becoming more and more accepted. I have a right to vote to express my opinion. I do not believe God wants His creations to marry another person of the same sex according to the Bible.

I feel that is is a lukewarm mentality to allow sin to come forth without fighting against the sin. In this case, legalized. Homosexuality is being pushed more and more.

I have gay friends and they know I love them but, they (cont)

  • also know that I do not support their lifestyle. That is the difference.

I believe that if you know something is going on that you feel is wrong, and you do nothing about it--your just as guilty.

Ex. If I see an adult beat a child and do nothing but continue to walk on, I am to be held accountable.

I have a voice that God gave me, I will use it.

However, I do disagree with these protests that shout vulgar words at the homosexual communities, that is not of Christ.

  • The fact you say they have a different life style is just a stryotype. And, assuming the stryotype is right, you make no point. Asians, blacks, whites, and many other races have different life styles.

  • I don't think Dan meant that you can't stand against these things, but most people make these issues there entire focus. One changed heart towards the Lord will do more than 10 new laws.

  • 1 Samuel 18:1,3

"And it came to pass, when he [David] had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul . . . And Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul."

And immediately afterward, Jonathan DISROBED before David

Look at that...a gay marriage in the bible!

    MARRIAGE EQUALITY FOR ALL!

  • Aha...

  • you guys r going 2 be going 2 hell right after the murderers cause you r not speaking for god at all, your pushing things onto people and its wrong of all of you 2 say this. i think when our day comes God is going to tell us that we are ALL HIS CHILDREN AND THAT HE LOVE US ALL NO MATTER WHAT. WE WERE ALL MADE IN HIS IMAGE EVEN THE GAYS! AND IF YOU DONT LIKE WHAT IM SAYING GUESS WHAT? WE DONT LIKe WHAT YOU ARE SAYING AND YOU GUYS A PRETTY MUCH RUNNING AND STOMPING GOD'S NAME IN THE DIRT!

  • It is not what you or I say, its about what God says. Maybe you should read the Bible to see who is God's children instead of going of your opinion. Trust me you will what to know what he says about it ;)

  • He doesnt know God's will if he is saying this shit! God loves us all no matter if we are gay or straight.

he has no say in who should get married and who shouldnt. its guys like this that make me question my religion, because if this is what all Christians and Catholics are, then i dont want to be a part of it!

  • Being Homosexual is a Sin, Romans 1:26-27 yes it is a sin. But we all have sinned and fallen short of the Kingdom of God. Now in order to be saved you must stop sinning. Do not get me wrong it does not mean that if you make a mistake you are doomed, but if you really accept Jesus, you will be saved. When you accept the truth in Jesus tou will change your ways! I did, I was a sinner, then I found God and now I am saved!

  • "I was a sinner"

    You ARE a sinner.

  • You are correct!

  • @Exodus314IAM Homosexual sex is a sin, homosexual attraction is a not a sin

  • Comment removed

  • @metriodpower um...no... Eve had other daughters...

  • Very good. We should NOT change this world.

  • So true.Anti-Christians only borrow from the Bible when it suits their puposes.

  • Amen! Couldn't said it better.

Yep in the last days evil will be called good and evil will be called good.

  • AWESOME!!! You are absolutely right. Not only is sodomite marriage wrong, but so is trying to make it illegal! It is not the Christian's job to bring a GOD institution (marriage) under the jurisdiction of the state.

Now, I do believe in protesting and fighting evil (preaching, lobbying, etc), but you're right - ultimately, this isn't our home, we're just ambassadors.

  • Good - now kindly return home, and leave the world for us to bustle in.

  • Believe me we can't wait to return home, then you have free run of this world, for a short period of time of course.

  • I couldn't of said it better. I'm getting a little discouraged at my brethern being more interested in changing legislation than being fishers of men. I'm glad to see a brother on the same page and being an example.

  • Awesome !!! GOod message!! stay encouraged !!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!!

  • Great video, Daniel. Keep the good work up!

  • great video, i totally agree. if the atheists had their way completely they would be bumming each other in the streets.

    oh wait...

  • Sorry, marriage is not Christian. Marriage, in many forms, including polygamy, polyamory, etc. has existed separate from Christianity and the bible in many cultures. It's just Christian arrogance to claim ownership of something that they have no right to.

  • Smyrna! Lol- how appropriate=) Great message. Your so right on about how marriage outside of GOD should be referred to something else. My friend and I were talking about this same issue a week or two back.

  • Apparantly he feels that monogamy was a product of the Bible. The ignorance in this person's mind is breathtaking.

  • Awesome message! I believe you presented this message correctly! You also showed, the world will institute it's laws according to it's governing power inconsiderate of Christian Values! America is of this world, therefore it should be expected for America to act out in accordance to it's sinful way. I think you hit it on the nail..If you are anti-God, there is NO REASON To cling to his covenant! I think your totally right, AWESOME! They are just in it for the benefits from the government!

  • Amen brother! That was spot on! I'm so relieved that there's a Christian out there that had the balls to step out and speak the TRUTH about gay marriage, and you hit the nail on the head!

    God bless

  • If Christians abandon all moral laws to non-Christians under the banner of "We're not of this world," God help us.

Yes, this world is hell bent, but Christians should stand against the gates of hell, and not say "Well, this world belongs to the devil. Let's go hide inside our church and sing Jesus songs."

I am not of this world, but passing through, and I serve my King and manifest His kingdom, yet I will stand, pray, and not give up in Jesus name.

What you do is your business.

  • He protested moneychangers at the temple...

  • Yeh he protested pretty hard.

Jesus constantly slammed the religious, but he didn't say much to Rome.

  • How cruel some Christians are. Please return to your embassy and tell them that the borders of Lesbos are closed to you. "The same sex people and their agenda..." he can't even bring himself to use the words family, wife, husband, lover. It would humanise, and that might just lead to fewer of us being bashed and murdered - and we can't have that, can we? Most gays and lesbians I know are Christian - his argument is mute.

  • "gay Christians" = oxymoron

  • oxymoron = beautiful poetic device. Thank you for the compliment. You are correct.

  • One calls sth. "oxymoron" when two contradictory words are used together.

In other words, there are no gay Christians.

  • Yes, my little moronic ox, and like all figures of speech, it serves a purpose - like gay and lesbian people in the Church.

  • There are a lot of false Christians. Going to church is sth. anyone can do - even Catholics.

  • "Going to Church" has nothing to do with serving Christ. The Church is not a building. The Gospel is your relationship with Christ - not a book. If the Gospel were merely the words in the Bible, it would be a very sad day for Christianity indeed. Th gay community also serves Christ - we love all its children... including the straight ones. You should try to be as loving.

  • People can worship GOD the way they wish, but that doesn't mean they actually serve the One, True GOD.

Homosexuality is clearly forbidden in the Scripture and it is a high form of immorality.

  • So is eating shrimp, wearing hemp, working on Sunday, and disobeying your husband. Why do you Pharisees always pick and choose your scriptures according to your own personal likes and dislikes? Stop listening to your preachers and follow your heart. Christ is there, and He is trying to guide you. He LIVES! Bye now.

  • The laws of the Bible are: ceremonial, hygienic, moral. Morals do apply today.

  • Those are academic classifications - a VERY modern trend. It is not relevant to spiritual matters. Christ Himself (God incarnate) not once (EVER) condemns homosexuality. He does however frown upon straight marriage, and advises against it. You really must read your scriptures more carefully. Know their origins, and understand how they applied to their times, and how they are relevant to ours. You do not live in Judea in 34 AD. Gays families did not exist then. Now, they are a fact.

  • Christ didn't come on Earth to condemn, but to bring salvation and forgiveness.

The New Testament is not the only part of the Scripture.

  • the concept of hell is a totally new invention in the new testament.

  • I am not going to argue with you any more. I have seen God's work within the gay and lesbian community. I have witnessed His blessings in such families, and watched with Joy the repealing of heinous laws passed by biblidiots like yourself. Nothing you can say could ever convince me - no scripture too damning, and no bigot too loud - to deny Christ's hand in the lives of the wonderful, loving, courageous, and CHRISTIAN gay and lesbian people that I know.

  • False Christians, always about loving even ungodliness. "Follow your heart!"-to where? to death - that is where man's free will always leads.

Man is totally depraved, not a beautiful, godly being.

  • We all have to die, ghghes. I am sad that you think people are depraved. You obviously hang around in social circles that differ vastly from my own. Perhaps you should get out more.

  • Total depravity is something taught in the Scripture. You cannot bear it, can you?

  • the depravity? No. But you obviously can.

  • Because I can about what GOD hads to say, not what men say.

  • Well. that's nonsensical... let alone ungrammatical.

  • Sorry, I meant: "CARE", not "can" and "has" instead of "hads".

  • I am glad that you admit the Bible is often depraved. That is at least some progress.

  • I think what you had to say is so true. I never thought about the marriage issue the way you put it in this video, but it is true. God bless you.

  • Jesus is Lord.

  • Comment removed

  • What about this video do you feel was well done? As a non-believer, I'd love to hear what you felt was logically sound that came out of this individual's mouth.

  • I liked the part when Daniel reminds his viewers that their beliefs make them not of this world. His calm reminder may help Christians call in their dogs a bit on gay marriage, and let them be less vigilant, hateful, and bigoted.

Who said anything about being logically sound?

  • Perfectly stated as far as I can see.

    Peace and grace.

  • Another great video Brother.

  • Bro you have been on my heart lately. I am praying the Lord keeps you safe and does not let you grow weary, but gives you strength. May he provide for you every step along the way!

  • I have to say that this makes a lot of sense. The issue I have has to do with this government help that you mentioned. Since I am a taxpayer helping fund the government's activities (which is tough work since they don't seem to understand the term "budget"), I believe I have a right to help decide how they should spend. I would rather not endorse sin like that. When the majority wants it I'll tolerate it, but activist judges legislating from the bench against the people's will isn't cool.

  • interesting point, hadn't really thought of it that way...thanks God Bless =)

  • Very well said brother, i think every true christian can be in agreement with you. You truly aren't afraid to tell what and how you feel yet knowing the consequences. To me you are a influence brother and i pray that you keep strong in the lord.

  • Do you have biblical evidence that supports that we all get judged right after our physical death? I would LOVE to see it.

  • (Hebrews 9:27)

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"

  • Physical or spiritual?

  • The first death is Physical, and then you are judged, and if you are found guilty without Jesus to pay for your sins, there is a second death.

"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

    ~Matthew 10:28~

  • The word used in the original Greek is "apothnace'ko" and yes it means literal physical death.
