Hey everyone so I'm a film maker and that is my passion. i have just created a new short film titled "Dear Sam" a short film by Jordee Arvin, i want to get looked at so bad. so all i ask is to help me out and like this comment so people can see this and watch my film and to get more likes and comments and maybe subscribers i know you all will like it so please can i use a little help? thanks a lot. the film is on my channel :) cheers!
On the Contrary to everybody, i found the movie interesting, yes the acting was bad by the fat guy...but rest all is gud...lets all appreciate this, and expect more out of this guy...
My name is Felipe and I am junior curator at One Minute Festival Brazil. We think your video is very interesting. If you submit it to One Minute Festival, you can win cash prizes. (If your video is longer than 1 minute, you can edit it to have maximum 63 seconds longer, and then submit it).
The Festival is now permanent and online, and it offers different themes and cash prizes every month. Check out more infos, dealines, and rules in the website: minuteplanet com
God it's doubly scary when British voices try to act tough. They sound like gay pansies so you don't expect it when they blow your head off. What a perfect ploy.
I agree with another poster that the acting is woeful - the fat guy is actually smiling when the gun is pointed at him. The shots are dull and editing crap which in turn robs the scenes of any kind of interest or most importantly tension. Poor sound quality stamps the film as amateurish and not only has the Tarantino thing been done to death, the great man himself is the only one who can actually do it properly.
@Paulie2906 LOL - actually a pretty good review if I'm honest, although you possibly miss the point that I actually went out and made a film with the resources (none) that I had, and as per usual with 100% accuracy so far - everyone who posts negative comments here has... surprise surprise absolutely nothing on their own page. Thanks for the review anyway and I look forward to seeing some of your work in the future.
I'm a TV scriptwriter not a filmmaker and as the rights to my work belong to other companies I cannot post anything on my site. Many people talk about making films so kudos to you for actually doing it with zero resources. However a big budget or no budget at all has no bearing on the quality of the script, camera work or your choices as director and editor. So no I didn't miss the point I simply didn't think that it was relevant.
@Paulie2906. As I said I actually thought your review was pretty much spot on. It was a film made to win a competition for a 3 minute film, theme Quentin Tarantino. It won so it served it's purpose but I agree yep it is deeply flawed.
It's not criticism at all, but I've noticed in a lot of films that a dude with a gun on another always tells a little story that has a moral or some sort.
thanks pianoman, it was for a quentin tarantino theme short film comp so had to have a monologue really but U totally agree - it's because we are all infected with the same mind viruses...
Hey - vespilodegodfather - it was a bit of both, had to do some dubbing and the sync got messed up, but rather than spend forever playing with it, I thought it was better to leave it as it was and move on to the next project. Thanks for watching and posting.
Lol, I must admit I wasn't expecting much till the last 10 seconds. :D You guys should have used a boom mic or edited it out later in a studio, the onboard mic on camcorders are terrible.
@CubeLuda Ta Cube - I think I need a few more hits before Guy will by it, so please send the link on to all your friends, and feel free to subscribe if you like. Thanks again.
haha! Great. I love that the man with the gun doesn't see the irony in his own story while he has his back to the only man in the room who could be the elephant. Nice work gents!
thanks for your reply, would you mind explaining the phone call? im from nz and personally i find it a bit hard to understand the accent so maybe its just connected to the beginning phone call??
At the beginning he says - yeah we'll sort it out, I'll give you a call. So the implication at the end of the film is that they were expecting the man in the hat and knew what was going to happen. Hope that helps. Cheers
I think the sync problem is the codec, and it was for a short film competition the theme of which was... Tarrentino. So mission accomplished I guess. Thanks for watching and commenting.
He's right, it sounds like it was recorded with the camera mic where they're talking at the beginning. I had this same problem in a recent film I did because I didn't have access to a shotgun mic.
I think I've already watched your best with the other two. 'Temptation' and 'Why'. Nonetheless, this was a nice building block. Question: Have you appeared in any of your work?
Hmmmm....Your work has improved since this film i am glad to say. The actors were slightly plastic and didnt show much emotion. I am sure you learned from some of the comments here. Your latest work "why" scores more points for me.
Yep - this was my first attempt at a 'short'. 'Actors' is probably stretching the description a little - actually all mates of mine, but hey, you learn by doing...
Either way thanks for watching, and thanks for posting.
I liked how tension was built with the camera shot of the gun in the near beginning of the film.
But I think the man with the gun could have been more agressive so that the viewers would empathise with the anger, and therefore fear, of the other characters in the scene. Shouting in the face of the hairdresser meant that he would seem more intimidated and then the gunman would be given more power and control.
loved the music at the end as well, it complimented well with the film.
"award winning" is a cheap way to get viewers and as a producer I know that what you put on the net with false claims hurts your reputation. Unless you don't worry about being or having a professional film making career.

Great video! Check out my short film "NUMERICA" if you have some time. Inspired by Kurt Vonnegut's public domain short story "2 B R 0 2 B".
In response to growing fears of overpopulation, a new law has been passed. For every person born an adult must volunteer to die. NUMERICA.
