  • Amen to that

  • Good work. As Eli Wallach as the character Tuco said in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, "If you are going to shoot someone, shoot. Don't talk"

  • not too bad, but very predictable

  • not too bad, but very predictible

  • @silnetofsn Thanks for watching and posting - predictable again but still nice.

  • haaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! i lold so hard at the ending.

  • @3664242 Thanks mate - appreciate the comment.

  • On the Contrary to everybody, i found the movie interesting, yes the acting was bad by the fat guy...but rest all is gud...lets all appreciate this, and expect more out of this guy...

  • @abhishekvideos Thanks mate, appreciate the comments.

  • Great video! Check out my short film "NUMERICA" if you have some time. Inspired by Kurt Vonnegut's public domain short story "2 B R 0 2 B".

In response to growing fears of overpopulation, a new law has been passed. For every person born an adult must volunteer to die. NUMERICA.

  • @kevinmarkfilms watched it mate - great little movie. Nice work.

  • poor!!! terrible !!! fuck dis shit

  • @nekruz11 Thanks for sharing buddy.

  • how is this related to Quentin Tarantino?

  • God it's doubly scary when British voices try to act tough. They sound like gay pansies so you don't expect it when they blow your head off. What a perfect ploy.

  • I agree with another poster that the acting is woeful - the fat guy is actually smiling when the gun is pointed at him. The shots are dull and editing crap which in turn robs the scenes of any kind of interest or most importantly tension. Poor sound quality stamps the film as amateurish and not only has the Tarantino thing been done to death, the great man himself is the only one who can actually do it properly.

  • @Paulie2906 LOL - actually a pretty good review if I'm honest, although you possibly miss the point that I actually went out and made a film with the resources (none) that I had, and as per usual with 100% accuracy so far - everyone who posts negative comments here has... surprise surprise absolutely nothing on their own page. Thanks for the review anyway and I look forward to seeing some of your work in the future.

  • @crouchingmole

I'm a TV scriptwriter not a filmmaker and as the rights to my work belong to other companies I cannot post anything on my site. Many people talk about making films so kudos to you for actually doing it with zero resources. However a big budget or no budget at all has no bearing on the quality of the script, camera work or your choices as director and editor. So no I didn't miss the point I simply didn't think that it was relevant.

  • @Paulie2906. As I said I actually thought your review was pretty much spot on. It was a film made to win a competition for a 3 minute film, theme Quentin Tarantino. It won so it served it's purpose but I agree yep it is deeply flawed.

  • poorly shot

    bad acting

poor sound, one can hear the dead air

    cliche story line

but good and somewhat unexpected ending...

  • Hey IslandChic glad you like the end! Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • @IslandChic01 I thought the acting was Ok. The dialog was a little hard to understand but it didn't distract me too much. I give it a 4/5!

  • It's not criticism at all, but I've noticed in a lot of films that a dude with a gun on another always tells a little story that has a moral or some sort.

  • thanks pianoman, it was for a quentin tarantino theme short film comp so had to have a monologue really but U totally agree - it's because we are all infected with the same mind viruses...

  • 18 people are blind and missed the LIKE button !!

  • LOL - I think spending too long watchinh videos on youtube can cause sight problems...

  • problem is bad shots n worst post-production,was it sync or u dubed it l8r.....i dint like the sound

  • Hey - vespilodegodfather - it was a bit of both, had to do some dubbing and the sync got messed up, but rather than spend forever playing with it, I thought it was better to leave it as it was and move on to the next project. Thanks for watching and posting.

  • bad short

  • Thanks for that miguel117

  • @crouchingmole im sorry man, that's just my impresion. I think that theres a way to make it better.

  • No need to apologise - I answer all comments, constructive or not. Thanks for watching, thanks for posting.

  • No need to apologise mate opinions are like... well you get the idea. Can't help but notice you have nothing uploaded on your page.

  • Niceee n_n

  • Taaaaaaaaaaaa

  • bad but funny. not good acting.

  • Funny's good. Ta mate

  • Lol, I must admit I wasn't expecting much till the last 10 seconds. :D You guys should have used a boom mic or edited it out later in a studio, the onboard mic on camcorders are terrible.

  • Thanks for commenting - yep the sound is dire but you live and learn... Cheers mate.

  • @crouchingmole

Ha, just watched it again... It was really well thought off. You should consider selling this to Guy Richie or something. :D

  • @CubeLuda Ta Cube - I think I need a few more hits before Guy will by it, so please send the link on to all your friends, and feel free to subscribe if you like. Thanks again.

  • Haha awesome film :) I have that airsoft gun :P

  • Amazing! But the shotgun was an airsoft gun... Great effects though!

  • It was indeed! Thanks for watching and appreciate the comments.

  • i love it, hte ending was supriseing and made me laugh

  • Thanks Aldershot - glad you liked it, and thanks for posting, really appreciated.

  • Hahaha gotta say that was brilliant!

  • @vincentsro Thanks Vin - much appreciated. Watch this space for another coming soon...

  • haha! Great. I love that the man with the gun doesn't see the irony in his own story while he has his back to the only man in the room who could be the elephant. Nice work gents!

  • Cheers guys - appreciate the comments.

  • interesting

  • ta maf

  • i meant to say Very interesting,

    asi in

    Very good

    really liked the msg,

    couldve polished some takes!

  • Much appreciated - thanks for the comments, and the feedback.

  • nice 1

  • Thanks andy - glad you liked it.

  • "It means, never forget about the fat boy..."

that was funny, great video man 5/5

  • Ta ej - thanks for posting

  • what does he say on the phone in the end

  • Yes mate. Yeah it's been done. Cool

  • thanks for your reply, would you mind explaining the phone call? im from nz and personally i find it a bit hard to understand the accent so maybe its just connected to the beginning phone call??

  • At the beginning he says - yeah we'll sort it out, I'll give you a call. So the implication at the end of the film is that they were expecting the man in the hat and knew what was going to happen. Hope that helps. Cheers

  • Not bad, a few things wrong, sound, acting, cinematography but other than that, good work. You can only get better from now on.

  • Thanks mate

  • I'll never get go a barber again. Great short.

  • LOL - thanks cumanagoto!! Hair cuts at home from now on...

  • Think it was quite funny, loved the end " It means don't forget about the fatboy mofuga"

  • Thanks Top - glad you liked it.

  • out of sync, and smells too much like tarantino lol..

    good effort though, enjoyed it

  • I think the sync problem is the codec, and it was for a short film competition the theme of which was... Tarrentino. So mission accomplished I guess. Thanks for watching and commenting.

  • Cool! What's the tune in the end?

  • It's a tune my a friend of a friend put together - not sure of the name though.

  • awesome.

  • Cheers!!

  • GREAT writing. GREAT concept.

Shame about the poor sound and acting.

Aside from that, great job!! Keep it up. I enjoy all of your work. You are very inspiring. Thank you!

  • Thanks Milano - very kind words, and much appreciated.

  • yer, i agree with miren2k. apart from the acting and sound it was awsome - love the dolly shot!

  • The theme was Quentin Tarentino, and I went with the Dolly shot as a nod to Resevoir Dogs, and Deathproof. Glad you liked it (Acting and sound aside)

    Ta

    CM

  • sound wasn't that great, the acting wasn't that great, but dam the ending was awesome =D

  • Thanks miren glad you liked at least part of it!!

  • good job!!

  • Thanks mate - please pass the link on... Ta CM

  • shot on video??

  • Yep - just a plane old canon xm2 mini DV.

  • It was good.

  • Ta mate

  • my favorite part was the splash of blood/color in the black and white world. it's cute!

  • Thanks roah

  • He's right, it sounds like it was recorded with the camera mic where they're talking at the beginning. I had this same problem in a recent film I did because I didn't have access to a shotgun mic.

  • Thanks Webb - a perfect example of constructive criticism.

It was indeed the camera mic...

  • no just them talking at the beginning

  • the audio at the beginning!

  • The bit with the bus?

  • funny thing is this

    i do shoot stuff

    =P

just pointed out your audio really is not good at all

  • Anything in particular you feel I could improve?

  • yeah thats what i meant

  • It won never the less. Funny thing is this, if you actually go out and make a film rather than just talking about it - things happen...

    Thanks for watching

  • i dont see how this wonan award... the audio wasn very good at all...

  • Hi Joey thanks for the comment - just to clarify I think what you meant to type was:-

I don't see how this won an award... The audio wasn't very good at all...

    Is this what you meant?

  • Love it ;) Never forget about the fat boy.. so true!

  • I think I've already watched your best with the other two. 'Temptation' and 'Why'. Nonetheless, this was a nice building block. Question: Have you appeared in any of your work?

I have a thing for the English

    :P j/k

  • I gave myself a little cameo in 'Beard' - it's a trailer for a 80's Death-wish type film I'd like to make... 5 points if you can 'find' me...

  • Hmmmm....Your work has improved since this film i am glad to say. The actors were slightly plastic and didnt show much emotion. I am sure you learned from some of the comments here. Your latest work "why" scores more points for me.

  • Yep - this was my first attempt at a 'short'. 'Actors' is probably stretching the description a little - actually all mates of mine, but hey, you learn by doing...

Either way thanks for watching, and thanks for posting.

  • hahaha nice short vid...

  • Wow!

I liked how tension was built with the camera shot of the gun in the near beginning of the film.

But I think the man with the gun could have been more agressive so that the viewers would empathise with the anger, and therefore fear, of the other characters in the scene. Shouting in the face of the hairdresser meant that he would seem more intimidated and then the gunman would be given more power and control.

loved the music at the end as well, it complimented well with the film.

  • Thanks for the feedback Moon - always appreciated

  • ah yes i loved it. i love your vids

  • Thanks vitus - check back soon - should have another movie up shortly...

  • That was really really poorly done.

"award winning" is a cheap way to get viewers and as a producer I know that what you put on the net with false claims hurts your reputation. Unless you don't worry about being or having a professional film making career.

  • Thanks for the feedback - very helpful

Competition won at Quickflix nov 07. (QFtv)

I notice you have nothing on your page - surprise surprise...

  • Yeaaahhhhhh! Awesome video! Nice one Chris!

  • this couldnt have won no awards bad acting from the fat guy

  • Nice Work Jay and the others.

Like the bit where Fatboy laughs in the face of death! Great monologue, where do you get it from I don't know.

Well done on winning the competition.

    MikeoldmanHeanue

  • gwan chris!!! you hard bastard!
