    it's actually not weird for guys to do splits; since it's been a month i hope you're progressing nicely with the splits. Just saying all the guys from my kung fu class are really flexible and they're around your age.

  • hey i'm 17 year old gymnast and i just got 1 question: are you meant to wear underwear under leotards? cause i went 2 gymnastics camp last summer and all the gurls i stayed with wore underwear.they thought it was wierd not to wear underwear under the leotard.i mean do u wear them under ur leotard and is there a special type of underwear and where can u buy them? also is it a good idea to wear a bra and briefs under leotards or not?

  • @blondegirlnicole you wear special underwear under leotards ;) and i wear a bra and a brief under my leotard :) and just look on the internet and order them... or look in a gynastic or sport shop :)

  • @hutchcat123 , maybe not to normal, but it will reduce the stretch range a bit. It's like eating, if you want to keep your stomach full, you should eat everyday, if not... well, you know what happens... (bit of bad example, but you get the idea,)

  • no but what do you mean "a few days"? after 10 days you'll be totally out of practice so yes, you'll be almost back to normal. after 3 days no, you'll still be ok.

  • to stelize: it is most likely due to torn muscle fibers. if u have been doing it alot and it hurts u are working your muscles past their flexibility point and therefore have torn your muscle fibers. it will heal soon and you can continue. no biggie! :)

  • Overstretch, unproper warm-up, lack of strenght (most people don't know that flexibility must be balanced with strenght to avoid injuries), muscle tear... could be a lot of things.

  • you pulled a muscle by stretching to hard. you should calm down the stretching for a little bit. NEVER stretch too far when the pain is unbearable.
