After Effects Smoking Text Tutorial

I went to the text and selected the smoke and it did not disappear... I tried everything to make it disappear on the newer version of after effects, nothing happens. Any advice?

@VirtualPTeam why dont you stfu and leave him alone. @mu02m5643 here is a little tip, try using camtasia (screen recorder) its a software for recording your desktop (obviously) and it has a trial but all you have to do when the trial runs out is reinstall

@mu02m5643 personally, i prefer hypercam. you can use a free version, its good quality, and the only downside is in the top left of screen it says "Unregistered Gypercam". But it is really good for screen recording in good quality.

Hey man, next time when you make a tutorial, don't record with a camera but use camtasia-studio.
