A beautiful song that has lived in my heart since the moment I first heard it as a young boy living in Los Angeles, Calif. In 98, I went to Deauville and walked the same boardwalk and beach, I could feel and hear the music in my heart. M. Lai and his talents are a blessing to the wolrd giving us such beauty, emotional heartfelt passion. There are only a few songs that have the master key to my most deepest corners of my heart, and this is one of them. True masterpiece, Merci Mr. Lai.
This is the gotten times, where the artist was himself, not any alectronic resource. The Ford racing car didn't have any electronic help in fuel or engines. The time gone by technology.
I dont think so. Today's music is mechanized and so are singers' voices.
Our world is very crowded thats why people can't see nature and songs are neurotic. Singers looks are distorted. At sixties most of the world was socialist, no savage competition-more relax and beauty.. Competition makes humanity ugly.
You did not live in the 60's so what do you know about them?
You are living in the 21st century...there are fantastic musics for film, maybe you did not notice them yet....try Harold Budd and Robin Guthrie for Mysterious Skin for example...
@kim1971 I lived half of my life in the sixties ;-)... (Todays arithmetics....)
I'll tell you that: during the sixties, a cinema experience was divine: The people , the excitement, everything around. Today i dont bother going out my place. I hardly watch tv. Only in the Internet: movies and music from the Sixties...
@GeorgeEliotBoo the worlds not crowded...we choose to crowd together because we cant escape the herd mentality. but yes everything is fake these days...well not everything but most things.
The 50s and 60s created films and film music that will live a thousand years. What an honor to have been part of that generation of filmgoers. It was a magical time.
I believe I have good taste and the taste the sixties produced will never fade away from those who can appreciate it . Even as a small child I was stirred by those sounds. This Francis Lai sound is typical of what I mean. Today's music? I don't even want to think about it.
Oh my god! I am admiradora de Francis lai, though I am relatively young woman but my mother I me inherit her elegant musical tastes. all his songs transport me to another dimension.
I am sorry ,but my english is bad , I am mexican woman and speak lowly but I want to express my feelings
tu inglés es muy bueno y te expresas muy bonito, siempre es chido saber q' hay alguien pensando igual... a mí me pasó lo mismo, mi mamá me enseño su elegancia de gusto, q bueno q lo tenemos, te felicito
Masterful music - the film is also special - a pity that it fell out of favor in our days since it is considered "politically incorrect" to pardon your husband and return to him at the end.
Salut! Moi aussi j´aime beaucoup la version en Anglais *Live for Life*, je connais une version avec Johnny Mathis, une interpretation merveilleuse, mais j´ai beaucoup de peine a trouver le cd! Peut être c´est celle que vous cherchez?
Francis Lai has produced many exceptional soundtracks, but this one is really special. Thank you for sharing this piece. I wish that I could find the DVD of the film to watch it again. A young Annie Girardot and a fres Candice Bergen.
Esto es realmente hermoso, se pierde de vista pese al tiempo.
