  • does any one know where i can get those gt rims, i have an 03 gs but i want those gt rims so i can paint them black =)

  • I have posted a video response to this loud grinding noise when you first start your 6g72 engine or Eclipse gt V6. Please watch and post a comment cause im kinda lost on this. im wanting to know if u are having the same problem as i. If you can not find this video on here please click my youtube name. I only have that video so it should not be hard to find.

  • 0:31 RICER ALERT!

  • That's the exact same engine as in my dad's 2003 Galant. Mitsubishi's 3.0L V6.

  • i own an 03 gts same problem no idea what it is. This is actually my second eclipse and the first one did the same thing but they did it only in really cold weather.

  • I have an 2002 Eclipse and it's load when it's cold too.

  • lame automatic transmission

  • stupid americans...only you cand post a vid with cold start....other start´s theyr enginesc cold every morning at -25 and never post a vid. it´s nothing unusual about that. intelegi ?

  • going to be my fist car:)

  • Some one told me to use engine flush and some thinner oil. also lucas engine treatment. they said that should stop it from makeing that sound when i start it when its cold. its kinda loud and embarrasing. lol what do u think of this

  • this kinda sounds like mine i have a video on my youtube account. please look at it. im sure this is it.

  • hi

  • Woah! ice is falling off the powerlines. LOL

  • For once, i'm glad i live in houston

  • @punchmaster123 I hate living in Houston. This 100 degrees days needa stop

  • that grinding noise is natural in that car. from what ive heard and my ddads speculation. the enine hasnt gotten oil to the heads yet on a cold start so it produces that noise until the lifters in the head get lubricated.. most of the time its not a problem as long as its not a frequent occurance.

  • @yao151 you're right. I have one of these (the 4 cylinder though) and these Eclipses are famous for their valve tick, it's more of an annoyance more than a serious problems. These cars need a lil time to warm up to get the oil flowing properly. At first I thought I had a rod knock but then I read and every one of these cars makes that sound

  • @datpimpinboy same here with my eclipse. It is actually a lifter tick. The lifters on this car are bad about having oil settling on the lifter, which is why the ticking noise goes away once the motor warms up. I know some people have drilled small holes in the lifters to allow the oil to flow off of the lifter after shutting it off.

  • @mrco555 Yea, but id rather not mess with that. Could be more of a problem than a solution. It doesnt really bother me that much anymore

  • This car is a lemon and it should been told to the buyer, it had a bad engine

  • I don't get the point of these videos. All your doing is getting snow all inside the car... and then starting it up and shutting it down which just gums up your oil. For what?

  • Haha thats not a cold start.

  • the 2000-2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT Spyder was assembled in

    Normal, Illinois, USA

  • That's not a cold start. That's an icy start.

  • cold start haha. and its covered with snow.

  • great job man!

  • I thought you sold it, Kyle?

  • we got rain in south texas from that same system that gave you this snow and ice. we had a chance of sleet and snow, but was only a few degrees above freezing. what was the temp. when you did the video?

  • Nice Car My sister has a 01 Eclipse 5spd its a fast little car

  • You have got to love your soft top convertible.

  • how come u shut it off then started it bk up again man?

  • @baseketball102 sometimes when it's really cold, it makes a sorta loud grinding noise, idk why, but if you start it back up then it's fine

  • oh it see i dont do that when i start my moms car cause i heard its bad for the car or something like that

  • @baseketball102 yeah it depends on the type of engine too, certain ones are pretty sensitive. more so with bigger engines. for example, V10s and 12s have to run for at least 5 min before you shut them off or you could foul up the spark plugs

  • @saabkyle04 You realize its horrible to do what you just did?

  • @saabkyle04 "sorta loud grinding noises" LMFAO!!!!!!!

  • @saabkyle04 Any ideas what that loud grinding is? I've been looking everywhere for a solution. I have an 03 GTS and is does the same dam thing.. no idea what or why though.

  • Us in GA got 6 inches how much did u get snow of course

  • Yeah I know isn't it great!

  • Comment removed

  • Wow you still have that thing on the lot...although its probably tough to sell a convertible this time of the year...

  • Yep, it always does that when it's cold lol
