The important thing is that when they show up, their Strogg-ified existence should be reduced to less than 5-10 seconds. It's nothing more than general strategy: Priority Alpha targets first, Beta and Gamma targets next.

@stunner8000 It's not so much that the Medics are difficult to kill, but let me give you a hypothetical scenario, based on a similar one from a Doom 2 manual I once read ages ago:

You waltz into a room, take out everyone else, and think that after wasting enough ammo, things should be easier. Then the Medic / Arch-Vile shows up, and starts resurrecting everyone. That's when you start getting really mad.

The Medics are Priority Alpha targets when they show up. Except bosses, no one else.

@SaviourV You my friend are so right. I am only loosely experienced in matters of Quake, but I am VERY experienced in Doom1 and 2. Basically, high priority creatures like this should be called Mini-Bosses. That's what they are by all means, and it also fits because aside from being able to heal these creatures tend to be one of the most excellent at killing you. My order of Mini-Bosses in Doom2: Baron of Hell, Pain Elemental, Fatso/Mancubus, Arachnotron, Arch-Vile. Worst to best.

The enemies in Quake 2 always freaked me out, half flesh and half machine and blood everywhere, even though the textures were so blurry, it only added to the charm because you had to use your imagination and it made them feel so sinister and sick because you didn't really know what they we're supposed to be. Yeah, and it was crap. Various warriors/soldiers/fighters from various instances are each stolen from their own time and place and forced to fight each other for the entertainment of faceless entities. And that's it; there's no plot progression in the game itself at all, and the 'single player' ending is literally 10 seconds long.

I think that no other video game fiends are more deserving of such hate than the Arch-Viles and the Strogg Medics.

Looks like you took the screenshot with OpenGL on. OpenGL removes a lot of detail, even though it's nice that it smooths everything out.

Love NoTarget mode. Let's you see the monsters do stuff you'd never see them do otherwise. Example: Parasite's toe tapping on the ground impatiently. (I always wondered what that sound was, I hate parasites cause you can't dodge, so I always freaked out when I heard that.)

Berserkers are freaking easy to kill, just keep moving. they are usually in obvious spots to, and it's easy to make them attack the enemies. =) I also worry when I hear flyers, even though they die easy, if I dont know where they are, I get hurt fast.

I think I had a problem like that once. Somewhere in the options it has a setting to turn CD music on and off. I am not sure what exactly it does. If it's on I think you have to have the CD in, if it's off I don't know if it doesn't play any or plays it from your hard drive.

By changing it to CD music on, it automatically plays whatever CD you have in your drive. You can't pick the tracks it plays though, which kinda sucks.

But the Quake music is better than anything else you can put in anyways :)

is there a list of what music from the cd goes with which level since i could just play the music on iTunes thats relevent to the level am playing which is the only way it'll work.

The levels do have tracks assigned to them, and I think it repeats the same track a few times (or maybe just plays it once) then starts playing the other ones instead (but you can just save and reload and it goes back to the correct track).
