  • slowest cast removal in the world lmao i would hate that because it tickled the crap out of my leg when the took my cast(s) off lol. my nurse would just be like buuzzzzzz buzzzzzzzzz click click toss and remove the bandages lmao that would be annoying haha

  • @bentleyshoe It feels better now. I can run and it the running is exactly the same as it used to be the only difference is I am now more cautious and I started out slow. I have no limp. I think it is different if you break an ankle than if you break a tibia. You broke your tibia, fibula, and ankle which is worse I only broke the tibia.

  • @bentleyshoe true but it's not just that it still is swollen but it isn't to swollen. I am afraid my ankle will never be as good as it used to be. It will be just as strong but when I mean just as good I mean it having pain.

  • i hate the felling of when the cast is of and your leg/arm fells so light and its just so different

  • @TinaaAndAllyy You're right! The cast is heavy and especially after you lose muscle mass, it does feel weird. I hope you are mending nicely and feeling better!

  • @bentleyshoe thank you i broke my elbow last year at this time but i needed two operations and did i say i was only 11 and 12 , the last operation was in january but i have a big scar ad it stil really hurts and i hope your ankle is felling and mending nicely to , x♥

  • @TinaaAndAllyy oh and how did you break your ankle ?

  • @TinaaAndAllyy I broke my ankle hiking. I have been an avid hiker for years. It was a very freak accident, just landed the wrong way going down a very small incline. I broke both bones (Tibia and Fibula). I didn't know it was broken. People ask, "Can you wiggle your toes?" That doesn't matter. When your foot is dangling onto the end of your leg, you can still wiggle your toes sometimes.

That's how I did it! I hope it never happens again.

  • @bentleyshoe poor you are you still hikinh now or does your ankle hurt to much still ??

  • @TinaaAndAllyy :) Absolutely! I hiked last Sunday. I also walk every day, I dance, and do everything I did before. My ankle doesn't feel exactly the way it did before but I still do everything I did before (just a little more cautious). I had some other videos up here but they contained music and per the copyright issue I had to remove them.

My ankle doesn't hurt now. I am just fine. You will be too. ☺

  • @bentleyshoe I'm glad that your ankle isn't hurting. My ankle doesn't feel the same because it feels more stiff than it used to be prior to the injury. I have heard that it takes a very long time for the muscles to redevelop but once they do people tell me the muscles redevelop stronger than they were before the injury.

  • @bentleyshoe thank you :) ♥☻ have a good summer (: xx

  • @bentleyshoe i just slipped at cheer practice on the football fields and broke my tibia and fibia. I got 2 screws in anda cast on. The hospital named me grace cuz i just slipped on flat ground.

  • @cheertumbling101 At least you are looking at this with some humor. Good luck on your recovery, Grace. :)

  • @bentleyshoe Thanks. At least I didn't break the ankle. The ankle doesn't heal the same in my opinion. My tibia healed up just great though. It healed up straight. It appears that you weren't in a cast as long as me I was in 3 different casts.

First a llc cast for 6 weeks, then a slc for 4 weeks, then a wslc for 4 weeks, then a walking boot for 4 weeks. You don't forget how to walk.

  • @riygoa It seems in the U.S. the people who make the most money work the least. Maybe, it is universal, don't know but it happens here with dentistry as well.

  • I've broken only my tibia not my fibula or ankle. You have it worse. It's really painful. How long does it take to get the strength back. I'm in a walking boot currently that's removable. Also the ankle is worse to break because it supports your body weight. I've heard the ankle heals up 80% as good as it used to be, but any other bone heals up exactly the same as it used to be. I think it's the same though.

  • @080594M127 I wore two different casts (dodging surgery, in the 20 percentile of people not opting for surgery) for five months. Then, I wore the 'Franken-boot'. When you lose muscle mass in your leg, there is nothing to stand on but a bone and that will not hold you up. You cannot walk. I had to learn to walk all over again.

You are correct, it does support your body weight. It probably does heal around 80% but the usage depends on your determination.

  • @080594M127 Additionally, I went bowling last night and felt the pressure on my once broken leg between the knee and the ankle. My ankle does NOT feel the same as before it was broken. It functions and I can run, dance, and do most (heed to the most) everything I did before; however, I will not jump or do anything risky to cause this to happen again. It was a freak accident when I broke the bones. YOU CAN DO IT but it will probably not be 100% nor the same as before. Mine looks thicker.

  • @bentleyshoe Oh no. Well for the tibia the doctor told me it will be stronger and better than it used to be. I broke it skating and I'm never going to skate again. I used to run a lot and I didn't have any injuries running. I love running but if the leg isn't the same that would suck. Oh now I get it you mean the injured spot will be weaker.

  • @080594M127 Well, I am not a doctor. I have heard people say the area should be stronger; however, I personally believe any time something is broken like that it would be next to impossible for it to be the same as before the injury. I can do things like jump up and down and etc. but I choose not to because I am afraid of living through that again. My ankle is not weaker, just not the same as before.

  • @bentleyshoe My doctor told me. It's all healed up and I don't have the boot but the ankle feels weak. How long does it take to strengthen it. It kind of hurts a little but not to much, maybe it's because I'm only a teenager so I may recover quicker.

  • i love ur cast so much!!!!

  • @breyerlover5737 THANKS!

  • lol if i break my ankle i dont wanna see my toes...

  • @TheRobloxmoviemaker1 Well, you might want to use perm. magic marker to color your toes. LOL It passes the time away.

  • i broke my ankle same as yours... my cast was off 1 month ago but i still cant move my ankle up and down.. but i can move my toes, they say its a nerve misalignment... did it happend to you too??

  • How long was our cast on? I'm not a dr. but I would say it will take physical therapy by yourself or professionally to get the ankle and foot moving again. It has been in a stiff position in a cast for a while. You can't expect it to be the same as it was one month after the cast removal. Don't give up, it takes time, moving it and working your ankle (not aggressive). Go slow and gradually you will regain movement. :)

  • P.S. Did it happen to me? My ankle was like a stiff board and I walked like Frankenstein for several months. I could wiggle my toes when I first broke it. That is a myth about toe wiggling. Toe wiggling had nothing to do with my break. You broke the two bones in your leg that hold your foot on. One year from now, you are still going to notice it.

  • @bentleyshoe When my walking cast came off my ankle was stiff for a week. The second week it's pretty much back to normal except the ankle is swollen.

  • @080594M127 You are right, when it has been held in one position for a long time it will be stiff. That is where physical therapy comes in to get it moving again.

  • @DerekGGG21 That's strange. I was able to move my ankle the first day they took my walking cast off. It was really hard. Now it's easy to move and the swelling is stopping a little bit each day. My ankle is kinda weak since it was locked up for 3 months. Before the injury my right one was just as strong as my left ankle. I broke the tibia not the ankle. But the ankle still hurts the same though.

  • I was just wondering i broke my tib and fib 4 weeks ago. Had plates and pins inserted. Does it actually hurt when you first walk on your foot again or isnt it as bad as i expect?

  • I did not have pins and plates, no surgery. I was in the 20 percentile that tried it without surgery. If you have not walked on your leg for four weeks, you will not able to just get up and walk after the cast is removed. You have lost muscle mass. The leg will not walk without muscle. You might be surprised to see a skinny bone leg. You will have to learn to use that leg again, putting pressure on it, and it takes time. It takes apx. one year to start feeling almost like it did before.

  • @bentleyshoe Wow that's a long time. So it will be a year to feel like it did before the injury. It depends on your age. I broke it when I was 15 and it was in March. My leg doesn't feel the same yet but I haven't had physio yet.

  • @080594M127 It does depend on your age and your mobility. Some people are more active than others are. It also depends on the injury and many other factors. My injury was in 2008. There are times when it never feels the same as before. Unfortunately, many people have said the same thing. I hear the bones grow back stronger and etc. but bottom line, it is not the same.

  • i'm getting mine taken off tomorrow, that saw scares the shit outta me

  • It looks scary but it isn't. The only thing that could happen is the friction will build up a lot of heat and if they get too close you could get burned. Good luck tomorrow! You'll do fine. It might look like SAW IV but it is harmless. :)

  • P.S. The pressure from the removal (putting pressure on your mending broken area) will be more difficult than the saw. Take some lotion with you because your body part will itch like crazy.

  • thanks for the tips, glad they arent going to amputate my leg with the saw hahaha

  • you had a very similar fracture to me. Although my ankle doesnt look as bad as yours. Hope you are doing better with it all.

Did you cast smell bad at all during the time you had your cast on?

  • It just looked stinky! It smelled like Shea Butter lotion because I kept putting that on my foot all the time. I never got my cast wet and kept a sock on my foot. Nope it didn't stink and still doesn't. I put it in the closet and a spider was living in it. LOL Good luck on your injury!

  • thanks. I might try the shea butter to keep my toes feeling good. lol

  • wow she sucks at removing casts thats by far the worst i seen lol

  • that is one of best feelings when u get that cast off haha. U just wanna scratch your leg. It feels really weird when they take it off.

  • @crenshaw22 I took my electric razor. That did the trick!

  • Did you at one point have a full leg cast cause last may I broke just my tibia in half completely and had a dull leg cast for two months and a short one for three weeks and then the walking boot for two weeks. I never wen't bak after that and I don't regret it because, physical therapy is a ripoff and unless you did major damage to the point where you can't walk anymore. It was a little hard gettign use to walking again but, after about a month I was fine and it toook three months for 100 %.

  • I broke both bones (Tibia and Fibula) at the ankle. I had two casts foot to knee, same kind - just removed the first cast not seen here for four weeks and then this one.

I got the Velcro Frankenstein thing to wear after that. I went to Physical Therapy a few times.

It is a process, recovery. I do my own PT now on the treadmill and exercise bicycle. There are some days for no reason that my ankle area feels like I really hurt my ankle. It is still larger than my other ankle and foot.

  • i have a cast on my foot now... only having to have it for almost 3 weeks... you think ill have a lot of trouble tryin to walk again?

  • probably not. has your foot ever fallen asleep? its like that only it doesnt go away right away. 3 weeks you should be ok

  • thank god.

Ive been thinking about that a lot.. i have one more week to go with the cast..

    its getting on my nerves

  • A lot depends on your break (kind, where, etc.), your age, and many factors. After having a cast on mine for two months I did have trouble walking again. When you do not use leg muscles you must build them back up again. My leg looked like a bone with skin when the cast was removed. I had to wear a Velcro boot for several weeks. To this day, my ankle is swollen and I have to be very careful. I have not been able to regain use as prior to the break. You might need physical therapy. :)

  • Well mine isnt a break.. i have stressed joints and tendons in my foot.. but they say that is bout as painful as a break. i was in the boot for 3 months from sept to decem. but it didnt help. so they are tryin this.. so i guess we will see how this goes

  • I sincerely hope this helps you. I was in a cast for almost as long as you were in a boot! Those boots are heavy and awkward. Let me know how your progress goes. Thanks ;)

  • it definately helped..

my foot feels so much better..

he ended up sayin it was a midfoot sprain

  • make a vid for youtube showing off your cast from all angles. we wanna see it!!!

  • uhm i cant. considering i dont have it anymore

  • ow!
