There is a word for radically changing, my brother knows it, but I lived it. Mom was buddhist dad was atheist, but I found Jesus. And you can too my friend. He will make it feel as if he died on that tree just days ago, if you would ever choose to surrender your life to him.
That's a fair statement I'm sure you have plenty of reason to doubt the existence of God, even if Abraham did exist it was over 3500 years ago, but I'm alive today, and so are many other people who were living horribly in sin. I was found long ago when I was young. But I witnessed my best friend's moment of salvation on December 29, 2010! My faith was completely renewed in that moment so I claim that date as my own as well! Praise God!!!!

lol, sry. that was a lot of verses. what it means is that God is holy and he cannot let sin into his presence. we are sinful (have you ever lied, stolen, cheated? Thats sin) so we cannot come into his presence. In the Old Testament, to get forgiveness of sins, they would sacrifice an unblemished lamb and that would temporarily do away with the sin. However, then Jesus came. He was the ultimate Lamb who did away with sin once and for all.

There is no evidence that he was god( in fact many of the early christians tought he was not a god). There is no evidence that he died for our sins. There is no evidence for all those miracles. nor for the resurrection. etc etc,

The Bible also says "delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart," meaning that he will CHANGE those desires so that they match up with his. When that happens, when we pray according to God's will, they get answered. Its not like using Jesus' name is a magic word that gets us everything we want.

No offense, but the Christian contemporary music I've heard is pretty generic. I understand the purpose of praise music is not to be musically or lyrically brilliant, but to praise God. On the other hand, I don't think it would hurt to be a little more creative. At least maybe a couple of strong melodies or a little less predictable chord progressions, something, anything! Why are only secular bands playing "good" music? Can anyone recommend some good Christian bands that aren't so standard?

Well elvismilk, God still open his arm much wider to Eva even she and Adan don't follow his commandment not to eat the fruit. He still save us. But we have to suffer because of hard headed heart. Can't you realize that God made the world how come He did not kill our parents or really throw them away to other universe. Of course He did not do that but they have to live and suffer for a while to fulfill the next coming of God by human being of Jesus to magnify again his love to us.

My church sings all these songs, especially the new ones like Chris Tomlin, Jeremy Camp, Tim Hughes and all them. The message is really what is awesome though. God has inspired these wonderful people to sing praises for him.

That's a fair statement I'm sure you have plenty of reason to doubt the existence of God, even if Abraham did exist it was over 3500 years ago, but I'm alive today, and so are many other people who were living horribly in sin. I'm not just some kid who grew up in church, and I believe because my folks believed. I'm talking about real life. I'm talking about being so drunk I black out, and then stopping all of a sudden. That is how you see Jesus, when someone lives it. That is born again.

lol, sry. that was a lot of verses. what it means is that God is holy and he cannot let sin into his presence. we are sinful (have you ever lied, stolen, cheated? Thats sin) so we cannot come into his presence. In the Old Testament, to get forgiveness of sins, they would sacrifice an unblemished lamb and that would temporarily do away with the sin. However, then Jesus came. He was the ultimate Lamb who did away with sin once and for all.

There is no evidence that he was god( in fact many of the early christians tought he was not a god). There is no evidence that he died for our sins. There is no evidence for all those miracles. nor for the resurrection. etc etc,

cont. Of all human beings, he is the only One who lived a life without sin. He didn't even sin in his heart. Therefore, when he died, he was not dying for his own sins (because remember, the wages of sin is death--Jesus never sinned)--he was dying as a substitution for us. He took our death! He took our punishment! And then, he didn't stay dead. God raised him up on the third day. Romans 6 says that he who has died is done with sin. Jesus had died, so the life he has now is holy.

cont. Its righteous, which means that instead of being alive to sin, its alive to God. He conquered sin. He conquered death. So what mankind has the opportunity to do is identify with his death on the cross so we can also identify with his resurrection. Thats why the Bible says that "he who is in Christ is a new creation. The old has gone; the new has come!" We die to our sinful selves by accepting the fact that Jesus dies on the cross, and God gives us Christ's righteousness.

but as to not being able to believe in it, I read a book that said that sometimes it is the devil that keeps people from accepting the truth. @tallliza yeah, but we have to ask with His purposes in mind. The Bible also says "delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart," meaning that he will CHANGE those desires so that they match up with his. When that happens, when we pray according to God's will, they get answered. Its not like using Jesus' name is a magic word that gets us everything we want.

@tallliza I've heard stories of people who prayed "God, if you're real, make someone do such and such." And someone did it. Several stories like that. We also have to pray in faith; "without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

For example, i could continue to insist that there isnt enough evidence to prove that say.. pluto exists. In the same sense, its the faith we have that confirms that God exists, likewise, we have faith in the evidence that shows that pluto exists. Its a matter of faith, not evidence.

Jesus has given you the evidence in Luke 16 Abraham is telling a rich man who is burning in hell, if you do not believe the scripture (Old testament) you won't believe one raised from the dead (Jesus) You may argue Jesus never existed, but I exist, and I died to being a drunk and rose, a changed man. Brian Welch (from Korn) died to being a demon possessed rocker, and became a changed man. If you can't believe this, you won't believe Jesus. Jesus died and rose so you could be changed too

It is because it is true and proven by archeological findings, do your own research and you will find it is in fact inspired by God unto the prophets who wrote those words. A kindergarten graduate could write texts that make more sense than the bible. Archaeology can prove the existence of certain towns and their location. It will never prove that the salvation story is historical..

If you want a meaningful conversation first read 2 books- Scaling the secular city by JP Moreland- that will give you better 'proof' of the existence of something greater than us. The second is Darwin's black box by M Behe. I'm not sure if I got the spelling right on the second. Bottom line is the proof that God existence is more probable: read the Kalam argument

@tallliza The evidence is that He sent Jesus, His only begotten Son (actually God Himself in flesh), to be sacrificed and resurrected to pay the price for all sin, past, present and future. God gave dominion of the earth to man, it's up to us (using the power and authority that we have through Jesus Christ) to do something about it. We created the problems in the first place and most of these problems could be sorted out quickly, but our selfishness perpetuates the suffering.

He is talking about spiritual forgiveness and healing of your soul and others, for the love of everyone and yourself. Read the bible once and then come back and tell us if any of your questions have been answered. No offense, but the Christian contemporary music I've heard is pretty generic. I understand the purpose of praise music is not to be musically or lyrically brilliant, but to praise God. On the other hand, I don't think it would hurt to be a little more creative. At least maybe a couple of strong melodies or a little less predictable chord progressions, something, anything! Why are only secular bands playing "good" music? Can anyone recommend some good Christian bands that aren't so standard?

elvismilk...you're a hater....but thats aight because unfortunently Christian's are hater's too sometimes. We ain't perfect, not even close. We still love you though because God loves us. To not only die for your friends but also love your enemies..there is no higher love! Becoming a Christian was the best decision I ever made. My family and I are blessed because we try to follow God's command to love, forgive, be honest and put Him first.

remember we as people only realize and needed God madly when we are suffered so much but when it comes to Glory or not having troubles in our life! well do you think you need God Elvismilk? Even we fell down many times and do many wrong things God still Love us. GOD IS LOVE, LOVE IS GOD! SO BE IT God still cares to you even many times you throw him put in your life. Well elvismilk, God still open his arm much wider to Eva even she and Adan don't follow his commandment not to eat the fruit. He still save us. But we have to suffer because of hard headed heart. Can't you realize that God made the world how come He did not kill our parents or really throw them away to other universe. Of course He did not do that but they have to live and suffer for a while to fulfill the next coming of God by human being of Jesus to magnify again his love to us.

My church sings all these songs, especially the new ones like Chris Tomlin, Jeremy Camp, Tim Hughes and all them. The message is really what is awesome though. God has inspired these wonderful people to sing praises for him.
