  • Samir is my favorite host. First Here then Ukraine.

  • what a dump

  • @aallppiinnee This country is not a dump. It's a great place with rich culture and cuisine. Bourdain did a very bad job in this episode. It is probably not his fault. He chose as a guide a person who is not even native to this place. Thus whatever they filmed and showed is not a very good image of Uzbekistan. Some things were good, some really sucked.

  • ...Is it wrong for me to think of Borat whenever I hear of this region?

  • Uzbekistan is SO not Middle East

  • Zamir is the best of friends....KGB baby

  • This is the land of the great Tamerlane. They have contributed significantly to Islam. I lol'd @ 6:40 when the guy started his crappy dance moves thinking its exactly what a white foreigner wants.

  • Zamir is one of those friends that is not very good for you

  • wawa wiva very nice

  • Some of the most prominent Islamic Scholars are thinkers of the ancient world came from these places. The Turkic/Russian people contributed a huge amount to Islamic theological Scholarship than most Arab nations did.

  • what an exotic country and people. i wanna visit Uzbekistan one day. along with the other exotic central asian countries- Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan. These countries are almost unheard of.

  • incredible

  • he said indians ))there were never been indian in Uzbekistan>>

  • "Uzbekistan, ass holes "

    Borat

  • "welcome to Uzbekistan - the wild, wild east" loooooooooool that was great

  • slight point... the large Korean population in Uzbekistan is thanks to Stalin's "ethnic cleansing" programs, which included forced internal migrations on a massive scale.

  • wow,Tony pronounced 'Khana' from chai khana so correct. Many westerners can't say the 'Kh' part properly.

  • i. love. uzbekistan. and anthony bourdain.

  • 1:29 -that poor white donkey with a lame front right leg & slit nostrils & his owner who doesnt realise it shouldnt be pulling heavy weights in that condition..needs a vet

  • Zamir seems like heused Anthony and his camera crew to get VIP treatment in that club.

  • I will go there one day, it calls to me =D - love from Iran

  • Noodles, kebabs, Tandoori lamb... It's like every awesome cuisine in the world combined in one country! :D

  • Chai-khana sounds so Indian. :-) We're all connected. It's shows like these that make me want to explore more cultures. Thanks Tony!

  • One of the things that impresses me is how Anthony eats all this food and he's not fat, really fat.

  • these uzbek people eat omg amount of food

  • This documentary sucked. I like his newer shows but this one was awfull. I am from uzbekistan and my little brother could do a better job doing a documentary on the country.

  • @QoziKalon It's not supposed to be a documentary on the country, it's a show about food, what did you expect? A thesis?

  • @Katyusha666 Well he should've stuck to food them. He did a mixture of country and food documentary and as a result he made a crappy documentary about country and food.

  • @QoziKalon True, he shouldn't have made too much on history, especially, since, though I am no exact Uzbek history expert, I would say that he did have some errors, but still, this is from Travel TV, it's not just the food, it's the concept of bringing in more tourists.

  • ledgend209 you know whats so funny uzbekistan is not one of the poorest or most dangerous areas travel before you speak

  • to all the "linguists" -- Uzbeks speak Uzbek language. It is a Turkic Language.

  • haha, bordain got his ass whooped. :) zamir is the worst host ever.

to samsul007, yeah, in uzbekistan is not an islamic country, if you do not drink, you do not have to. but you can't push your rules to those who want to get shit faced and pass out on the street... that is their choice.

    gotta love Uzbekistan.

  • good and nice

  • "chai khaana" for tea room is actually a hindi/urdu word meaning tea room;and the invaders have brought that to uzbek...

  • @jeganathj Well it means tea room in Uzbek too. And since it was Central Asians invading India throughout Medevial period chances are they brought it to India.

  • @jeganathj buddy do you know who Bobur was? if you don't know than learn about him, who he is and where he is from etc. He is the one who brought this word to your language and nation.

  • i swear anthony bourdain can go to the most poorest and deadlyiest places and make travelng and food looks so good.....

  • @Shamsul007 fail

  • this guy was eating raw cobra heart once in thiland i like this program

  • This is definitely one of my favorite episodes of No Reservations.

  • whats that song at 8:43?

  • I love Zamir haha.

  • those bellydancers are hot! Haha

  • 7:26-7:40 possibly the best fourteen seconds of No Reservations.

  • haha it`s Arabic dancing

  • Yeah 'm so confused. I'm Jewish with a Russian culture that was born in Tashkent.

  • i love the Uzbekistan, the diversity is mindbogglingly.

  • Asshole tajik dont no where to take people. Tony talk like shit

  • ohh those russian, arabic looking dancers!

  • 9:12 relax, "gossip" - hahaha great commentator hahaha

  • looks the same country since 1996 when i left dam... i wonder if theres a net

  • the noodles look like spaghetti noodles.

  • Ever seen Russian saying "na zdorov'e" before drinking? Only in old American movies and here.

  • @Matismatt we allways say so

  • @REALLRAPMUSIC Oh, no you don't. Ever! The right words would be "Ваше здоровье", "Твоё здоровье", "За здоровье (кого-то)". "На здоровье" usually follows "thank you" and has the meaning of "You welcome".

  • P.S. The same mistake you can see over and over in old American movies, where "Russians are coming". Luckily, modern movies have decent advisers.

  • 5.22 what??? tandoor - didn't bother to change the name of indian classic??? does he know that the word tandoor went to India when Babur invaded them??? this guy doesn't really know what he is talking about.

also, indians never invaded central asia, he said that in the beginning.

  • Contrary to what most believe "Syphilis" originate in the Americas - So until the 1500's there was no Syphilis in Europe - And Opium originated in ASIA - So what is this guy talking about - Europeans already had science (So what is this guy talking about) - Sure European's benefited - So did the EAST. We had UNIVERSITIES of learning.

Hippocrates , Aristotle, Euclids, Pythagoras, Erastothenes, Plato, Descartes, Ptolemy, Kepler, Copernicus, Leonardo DaVinci, Galileo, Johannes Gutenberg, Newton

  • ur right hes just being stupid

  • slushayte, vsemi iz odnoy zemli, zachem razzjigat etu nepriyazn, nado prosto jit vmeste-v etom nasha sila,a te kto rassjigaet etu igru prosto hotyat takje kak i sov soyus razzvalit stranu, vot i vsyo,Mi SILNIE I LUCHSHIE!!!!

  • He's talking very wrong facts: I dont think China or India have ever invaded us. As far as I know, we conquered India, and almost went into China, but Tamerlane died half way there. PEOPLE, This video is giving FALSE INFORMATION!!

  • YES This is true. I dont know about China but I know Uzbeks conquered some parts of India.

  • @ALkaFone I like your approach "as far as I know". Shows your intelligence. Unfortunately, as far as I know, Uzbekiston borders were created artificially. "You" were invaded by Persians, Greeks, Mongols(with thorough genocide) and Russians. Don't think Timur conquered India. And "Uzbeks" are collection of multiple tribes with various genotypes. Like Kuramins, Uygurs, Tatars and others.

  • Borat hates uzbeks.

  • @MrFaruk1983

F.U!!! U just envy our culture, sense of humanity, our past and future!!!! u don`t have anything to be proud of!!!))Best, keep on following WESTERN GAY Community))

  • Uzbeks are very loyal to their family and relitives.

  • @MrFaruk1983 chmorik,tavyu mamu viebu uznayu ktoti!

  • u see guys that right there thats why we dont trust each other thats why the people of turkmen uzbek ,kazak and kyrgyz dont stick to gether and dont let mother fuckers like him fucked with us but im really dissapointed with those idiot people from central asia they still talking russian they dont know even their own language thats a big shame someone has to organized and unite them to a great country!!!!

  • wtf? we do speak our own language. We speak Russian too. And English. What LaLa land are you from?

  • @olesya71 hey asshole i'm talking with real uzbeks not with you russian pig eating son of whore and im from turkmenistan uzbekistan and turkmenistan must be unite and stick together cuz they are are similar people and central asia is not russia ok?! we have to kick all russians ass and speak just our own language and take the uranium and gas and oil for our self not for russia you got it?!

  • Comment removed

  • @barrrio19 And what would be their own language, Turkish or Farsi?

  • @Matismatt farsi is language of tajik people uzbek is kind of turkish language like the language of turkmen people they can understand eachother

  • @barrrio19 Exactly my point... We are all people. We all mixed. Borders are created artificially.

  • @Matismatt Uzbek is closer to Turkish than Farsi

  • @spurious exactly

  • @barrrio19 We have the same problem where I'm from...

  • HI from Turkey! My brothers name is Timur and its his Birthday Today!!!!!Selam Uzbek Kardesler!!!

  • why are you fucking turks acting like stupids and hate each other we are all from a great turkish nation dont forget that i'm a turkmen as well but i believe if turkmenistan uzbekistan and kazakhstan being to gether they can make a big and strong country together we are all muslim and sunni muslim our language and colture is the same so i cant understand why we hate each other so russia and west countries can profit that!!!!!! biz hepimiz turkuz ve turk kalmaliyiz!!!!

  • The reason kazakhs don't like Uzbeks is because a long time ago when Kazakhs and Uzbeks used to trade stuff. The Uzbeks would get lice in their hair, or some small disseases. So Uzbeks did not want to do business with them. In kazakhstan the land is flat and it was pretty dirty back then. ( This is a fact not my oppinion)

  • i dont know where are you from but if you really say that the uzbeks got lice in their hair that couldnt be a good enough reason to hate each other, that make no sense!!!they can easily stick together and protect each other thats what make the european with thier own race but look at us turkish oghuz people we dont even beleive each other and we just f.. hate each other and how could we exept that the other racees and nations respekt us?!they making films like borat and show us as barbars

  • uzbek speak Turkish

  • @psypsyO:

    Uzbeks speak Uzbek, not Turkish...

  • you are right.. they just have so similar Turkish words in their language but its not all Turkish.

  • wow he even been to uzbekistan!!!

  • Zamir is da man!!

  • I am curious as to why that Tony while doing his facts didn't mention that Uzbekistan is one of only 2 Landlocked Countries on this Planet( Lichtenstein is the other) Thats what intrigued me mostly about this Country.

  • Sorry Dave but you are wrong, there are 43 landlocked countries: Afghanistan, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bhutan, Bolivia, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Czech republic, Ethiopia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, F.Y.R.O.M., Malawi, Mali, etc etc etc

For the rest of the list check out wikipedia or a map.

  • I am sorry I meant to say that Uzbekistan is one of 2 double landlocked countries(Lichtenstein is the other one)

  • Yeah, you are right. But Uzbekistan is Double Locked country which means, countries surrounding Uzbekistan are landlocked.

  • @shoha2108

...and that is what I originally meant to say ...

That Uzbekistan and Leichtenstein are the only double landlocked Countries in the World.

Not that really matters, but it makes for a great trivia question!!

  • @kingsammythecat

yes,it will be right to say that uzbekistan is one of the two double landlocked countries in the world.

  • @kingsammythecat I think Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan do not belong in your list of landlocked countries. they both have access to the Kaspian sea. so, they're not really landlocked countries. I suppose, if you take into consideration that the Kaspian sea is not really a sea, but rather a large lake, then yes, you're right. but overall, in the more practical sense they're not landlocked.

  • @mardamek1 The kaspian see isnt really a sea! its a lake, hence its considerd landlocked aswell!

  • @david640 ...um afghanistan, burkina faso, chad.......there are far more than 2.

  • youre an idiot

  • im a fan of Samir, gangsta

  • lol Dam europeans. 4:52

  • Uzbeki PLOV is the BEST in all of the world!!

  • LoLs. Zamir always brings Tony to places that tony ends up not liking much. kinda like that transylvannia episode. hahaha.

man was he pissed off when tony was starting to become sarcastic.

  • he enjoyed Uzbekistan far more than Romania, he just hated the "Sauna" scene

  • I didn't mean the country. just a particular place. ie, that sauna, and that gimmick torture restaurant in transylvania.

sorry, wasn't clear on what i meant.

Zamir is awesome. he's my favorite bourdain travelling companion. :)

  • Zamir is AWESOME! XD

  • tony is the most skinny host ever on a tv show..lol.. and the only host who smoke and drink in front of the tv

  • not true...dave attell used to drink and smoke on "insomniac"

  • "Tandoor" is supposed to be of Persian origin, but since the oldest tandoor was discovered in the Indus Valley, I guess we Indians can lay claim to its invention...for now :)
