I'm gonna buy a new amp next week and I really don't know what to. I am using the Digitech RP255 unit and my guitar - an Ibanez RG321MH. I wanna get a new amp for college where I will get into a serious band. Currently I own the Fender G-DEC Junior which is only 15 W. I was told to get a solidstate with a good clean, as I dont need effects on it.What whould I get ? Around 30-50 W and 200-300$ ? I've set my eyes on the Kustom HV30 and Kustom Quad65DFX.Or maybe a Hartke GT60c? I need for metal.
Here's a tip: my guitar player just changed the preamp tube with a German made one. This amp was already powerful, but now it turned into a hairy chest beast.
I've got this amp and i must to say that clean chanel is very good but distortion... omg just forgot... On low volumes is very good but when you play with the band and you've got to turn it up you will hear terrible distortion in my opinion. Like i said before clean chanel is perfect but you've got to buy distortion stomp box to get real good gain sound.

The tube is not in the power amp. It is a pre-amp tube. The power amp is all solid state. The benefit of placing a 12Ax7 or 12Au7 in the preamp of a solid state amp is it warms up the sound of the amp and usually is quite beneficial in eliminating the harshness that comes from solid state distortion.

Saludos desde argentina! tengo el mismo amplificador y uso el metal zone en el canal limpio.pero me surgio un problema: cuando activo el metal zone el volumen se dispara y luego empieza a bajar. El seteo que uso en el amplificador es todo en la mitad(gain, volume, bass, midle, treble) y el mt-2 en la configuracion thrash metal que se obtiene en la pagina de boss con el nivel en 5.Sera problema del pedal o del amplificador?
