Nice bass solo, pretty heavy thumping on the bass drum. Listen to Miles' version on "Round About Midnight" (with Red Garland, Philly Joe Jones, Paul Chambers) or Sonny Stitt and Gene Ammons with the great Don Patterson on B3 ("Boss Tenors in Orbit"). I hear talent on the present video but without any real direction. Authentic jazz is an oral tradition--it must be learned by careful, repeated listening. The best players have transcribed numerous solos by ear before they start playing their own.
