@Inquisitor53 Since I have completed 325 semester units of college work in the past four decades, much of it in California, I might be qualified to share a thought here: The humanities departments at public universities (especially in California) are packed with Marxists of various stripes. This has been documented in studies. Many of these shaggy-headed guys & mean-faced, clipped-haired gals are also in love with postmodernism, which has become the unquestioned paradigm of humanities study.

However, much of the work in the California systems is beneficial, including engineering, medicine, physics, biology, environmental studies, psychology, and many other practical fields, typically based on the scientific method. CSU actually produces some fairly competent K-12 teachers, too. In any case, curriculum revision is not the issue here.

To be honest you cant even compare the countries you have listed to the U.S. Why should anyone be content merely because we have it better than some Vietnamese citizen, its our responsibility to constantly question and criticize the government and its employee's; least we have it just as good as them.

You dump them all in the same bucket and brand them as evil (and you do otherwise you wouldn't have used it in the context you did). Yes, yes ,yes the KKK is bad; however communists and socialists are inherently evil? I think not just because someone holds a different political view doesn't mean they are a bad person (within reason, KKK and similar are extremists).

@joethebaptist23 Look at the history of socialism & communism, with leaders like Mao zeDong, Lenin, Mussolini, Stalin, Hitler, Chavez, Castro, Kim Il Jong, Pol Pot, etc. Anyone espousing communism or socialism will eventually use violence, deadly, terror-filled violence. It is the way they play the game. What is their justification? "the ends justify the means"! And you want to become a part of that?

Differing political views is one thing; promoting & instigating violence is quite another.

All have quite a few socialist policies and yet they are all considered to be with the good guys. Hell even the United States has been jumping on the band wagon over the last few decades. Yes all those countries are democratic they still hold many socialist values. So i still don't see socialism and communism as inherently evil. All you've listed is select bad leaders.

People died of starvation due to "spreading the wealth". Those putting in all the efforts to raise & harvest crops were having to feed those that didn't got fed up within that 1st year of busting their asses to support spongers, leeches, & bums so they quit growing anything. The Board of Trustees would not allow us to speak on a matter that effects the lives of students. We interrupted their meeting, because an orderly meeting that wishes to calmly shift the burden of financial elites wrecking the economy to students should be disrupted. The police forcefully removed us out of the room, and we attempted to reenter a publicly held meeting, but were instead shoved and pepper sprayed.
