This is one of the most horrible things that occured during WWII and if you are interested in knowing more there are alot of documentaries on the Holocaust and nazi germany. Another topic of interest that was devastating. Maybe even worse in my opinion than the Holocaust during WWII was in Japan at a medical research facility known as unit 731. If you are interested in what really went on during that dark war then that story is a true eye opener. Not for the faint hearted.
I think that was totally inappropriate for 11 year olds to hear such a story. Last year in 8th grade in the Holacaust unit some 14 year olds couldn't handle it. It bothered me such young kids had to hear such a thing
i can't imagin what it would be like to be separated from my family like that. My Family means everything to me. I'm truly sorry to those that have been separated from their family.
some parents can be so ignorant and then they pass their own ignorance onto their children, the sad part is children aren't born hating others, it's the parents that poison them, but they have to be taught to how hate others.....smh :/
@Bitesize1991 Not true, hate is a natural emotion that cannot be taught, people hate because they can its built into us to hate even if nobody teaches us, they react to things they do not like or do not understand. Its like saying "oh my parents never taught me to be jealous", does that mean im never going to be jealous?
I love this episode so much! I want to sit our whole family down sometime and watch this episode together. It brings tears to my eyes every time. Thank you so much for uploading this<3
Um...some did survive Auschwitz..In fact, I did a book report as a junior in high school on one who did...he described it in great detail as well...The prisoners that were strong enough, were used up for work, until they became so sick, that they were executed in one way or another..
i was so interested in her story. How persons not believe this story. I never even knew that happened until i saw this touching episode. I could just picture what they were going through. Thats to show how blessed we are.
I love how everyone sobs and agrees we should stop hating... but no one does. Christians are one of the most hated on groups of people in America, white people often deal with racism more now than blacks (usually), children are aborted out of selfishness and hate more than all those poor Jewish people in Auschwitz. Wake up, people. Don't be a hypocrite. It's disgusting.
I'm sorry but they have their facts wrong. Simon's friend didn't survive Auschwitz. No one survived Auschwitz because it is a death camp. the lady passed selection and survived Birkenau which is a work camp that is part of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp. Above the gates of Birkenau is a sign that says "abeit macht fret" which means work makes free. (Only people who were in Auschwitz during liberation survived.)
I'm sorry but they have their facts wrong she's not an Auschwitz survivor no one survived Auschwitz because it was a death camp. She survived a place that is on the other side of Auschwitz called Birkenau which is a work camp. Above Birkenau is a sighn that says "Arbeit macht fret" which means work makes free. The lady just survived selection.
It's been a while since I last saw this episode, but it doesn't matter how many times i watch it, I still cry at this scene.
