  • Mum and Dad don't look so hot these days.

  • AND MORE

  • GBH RANCID GREEN DAY LES CLAYPOOL NIVANA JIMMIE HENDRIX SCREECHING WEESLE OP IVY PINHEAD GUN POWDER NOFX PANTERA METALICA SUBLIME
  • @govtschemes nine inch nails? really? haha ha i saw your videos. haha

  • @govtschemes nimrod?

    aha

  • @govtschemes they wrote a song about you on 'nimrod', its call platypus. you should listen to it

  • Personally, I like Green Day's older stuff better (and I'm not afraid to admit that), but I like this song quite a bit. I wish it was longer.

  • @govtschemes There is a difference

They both have their pros and cons

Honestly, I like them both for differing reasons

  • @govtschemes wth?

  • awesome as fck

  • @govtschemes just stfu!!!GREEN DAY is the best!!They were and they still are awesome! There is no new and no old GREEN DAY!GREEN DAY is the same and you are not a real fan if you are saying that the old GREEN DAY is better!Real GREEN DAY fans will always love them and support them!

  • You crazy kids. I'm not gonna bother reading all this (although somebody may have already pointed this out?), but I will say this - back when Dookie came out, everyone was calling Green Day sellouts after they signed with Reprise and "new green day" was Dookie/Insomniac, while "old green day" was the Lookout days of 1039/Smooth & Kerplunk. I guess Nimrod was part of that era, but Warning felt kinda different. It's strange that they're still around, but the fanbase has evolved, man. Deal with it.

  • Wow... why are there these "new green day/old green day" discussions in every single green day video? Relax, have your own opinons and chill!

  • @NorwaysSuburbia Wow. Somebody who knows what he is talking about!! Thanks!

  • @NorwaysSuburbia i agree!

  • if u dont like the music what greenday put out now thats fair enough, but the people calling them sellouts are fucking insane, 21st centuary breakdown has some of the best punk/anarchy lyrics any band have ever produced

  • Green day grew up, and it happens. At least they are as good as they were at the beggining. They are a flawless band and their songs are totally pure gold!! I love them so much and I'll keep buy their new CDs and support them, cause if us - the fans won't do it, who will? GREEN DAY FOREVER <3

  • @SmilingCWeenSorrow There's no such thing as OLD green day and NEW green day. There's only GREEN DAY. And they are ahmayzing! <333

  • Awesome firts Time hearing This U Rock Billie

  • mom and dad dont look so hot these days ;D

  • This is some of the good stuff, I still vote Dookie :P

  • one person is a brat

  • @13MCRluv yes me im so brat and stupid ha ha ha

  • @bannon100O ooooooooookkkkkkkaaaaaaaaaaaaay

  • @bannon100O Banny?! You've finally admitted it! ;) You're not only a brat, but also "the grouch"! Check it out. That song must be on your faved lists of course! :P

  • I love all the people who think they're the shit because they know Green Day music before American Idiot. Then they parade around saying they like the old stuff better, as if they should get some sort of award because of the superior knowledge in the music over some one who only knows their singles. I love all of their music, and personally I think everything they release is incredible.

  • @coheed0211 I love the people who think they're the shit because they like everything a certain band puts out. They parade around acting like the only thing needed for a song or album to be good is for it to be made by a band they are a fan of. And they act like they should get some sort of award for being a true fan because their loyalty is unwavering and blind, as if they don't have a mind to judge each track on its own merits.

Check me out. I can make baseless assumptions too.

  • @ColignyForever

I'm not saying that I only enjoy all their albums on the fact that I just enjoy Green Day, they just put out great albums. People refuse to accept that fact because they want to look like they've been listening to Green Day forever, and are "true fans." I actually am not a huge fan of 21st Century, but you can't deny American Idiot was an awesome album, and people continue to bash just on the fact that it was mainstream.

  • @coheed0211 You missed my point. People will not accept that "fact" because it is not a fact. Music taste is subjective. One person will hate a song and another will absolutely love it. I truly do not like Green Day's newer stuff (including American Idiot). It has nothing to do with them "selling out." To me, the sound changed a bit too much. I do not think this makes me better than someone who likes all the albums, or even better than someone who just likes the singles. We are all "true" fans.

  • (continued) And that was my point. You made a lot of baseless assumptions about people. I don't fit your assumptions, just like you don't fit mine, and there are plenty of people like us out there on both sides. Your comments were pointless generalizations... and mine were a parody of them to illustrate that fact.

  • @ColignyForever hey!! who cares... just enjoy!!!

  • @oilrig22 I thought it was good. Except maybe Walking alone

  • To be honest both old Green Day and new Green Day are great!

  • @WilliamPaul1996 Not true, last two albums are so fucking crappy !

  • @MisterPatros What a Fucktard...

  • @WilliamPaul1996 there's not such a thing as "old" and "new"

  • even though i dont like the new Green Day, the Green day of the 90s will always hold a special place in my heart. They're really the first band that i've ever became a fan of

  • People, green day is green day. There's no old or new

  • @musiclover01ization Oh yes there is. Nimrod announced the "new" more pop rock green day.

I prefer the older, harder stuff.

  • I don't think there is an old and a new Green Day, they're still the samen, both of them ROCK. <3 Green Day For Life! Happy Green Day Around the World!

  • 1 person is a brat

  • WHY DO EVERYONE MISS OLD GREEN DAY? ALL THEYVE DONE IS IMPROVED! BUT STILL THEYVE ALWAYS BEEN AWESOME! GREEN DAY FOR LIFE!

  • I sing this when my parents piss me off XD

  • Green day have changed and have gotten more plastic pop fest , but i still love them to this day , not because im one of those ignorant teenage fans but just because it may have changed but theres still the pounding guitar and the epic walking bass , also there fucking epic live

  • faster!! :D

  • There is an old and new Green Day.

Sorry fan but i know it's annoying to hear.

The old school Green Day is loud, fast, bratty and in your face.

New Green Day is longer music, more melodic, slower paced, political stuff.

I love Green Day don't get me wrong but I hope they return to their 90s stuff. Their Punk roots.

  • One of my fav Green Day songs <3

  • There is no old Green day-New Green day ! Its always GREEN DAY !

  • i personoly like 21st breakdown way better than american idiot, with that said nothing beats insomniac and every before that.

  • THE PEOPLE THAT THINK THE OLD GREEN DAY IS WAY BETTER ARE RIGHT! my god just listen to this man... any song pre 21st century breakdown even. just gold! i listen to old green day all day long and never touch the new. i listened to it a few times then fell back to this :D so shut up ppl who think they've changed for the better... they havent.... THIS IS GREEN DAY, not 21st century shitdown... fuck.

  • @CoverCityTV Actually, I am pretty sure if you would ask Green Day, they would say they are 21st Century Breakdown instead of this. Oh, but wait; Every album they ever produced is great. So why don't we all just shut the fuck up over what's better and just enjoy Green Day as a whole ^^.

  • @CoverCityTV Dude, it's all about opinion and taste. You don't need to bash Green Day's newer stuff just because you dont like it. There are plenty of people who love their new stuff. I love and listen to all their stuff, old and new. And I have to admit, the rock operas Green Day made were masterpeices.

  • @CoverCityTV you are an idiot, that is your opinion, if you knew much about bands, all bands change with the times, this band has been around for a while and are probably far more musically talented than you could ever dream to be, '21st century shitdown' is one of the best albums musically and half the people who say 'oh old green day is better' are basically trying to look like die hard fans on the internet yet die hard fans will back them up no matter what album they bring out.

  • @anarchy4theuk i'm not really trying to look like a die hard fan, say what you will yet I still think that their older shit is way better, I find the last albuma bit "pumped up", too showy and too few of quality, in my opinion, even though it has its couple of good tunes. don't get me wrong I enjoy their new songs anyways but they're not as good as they used to be, that's a fact.

  • @CoverCityTV Actually, that album is Green Day too and I enjoy it because they changed their sound up a bit. A true fan wouldn't just shit talk every new album that comes out. Remember the previous album American Idiot? Everyone said it was shitty and that they were sellouts and now nobody gives a fuck. You're just being a hipster.

  • @CoverCityTV I agree. I mean, I know it's still Green Day but people, you gotta admit it they worsened A LOT. just look at them and listen to the songs... they're all showy and few quality, dressed up all fashionable and they use a lot of lame studio effects. once they were like "we only need instruments to rock the shit outta you, we could even do it naked" now they're all smoke and no fire. i tried to listen to the new stuff, i tried to like it but i just can't and i got back to the old stuff

  • @CoverCityTV Atleast they still make good music. It's sad what's popular these days. I'd take 21st Century Breakdown over anything on "popular" radio. Music today just sucks. Be thankful that Green Day is still around to make music. I am.

  • @CoverCityTV i notice that on every youtube video of green day, most people say "new green day sucks, old green day is way better". looks like green day "fans" discovered that hating and being a troll about their newer stuff, as everybody else does, is trendy and cool.

i ask you: what is wrong with the new stuff? there are many different styles, fast punky songs like murder city, powerful rock songs like east jesus nowhere and slower ballads like 21 guns.

  • dookie had many different styles too: fast punky songs like welcome to paradise, powerful rock songs like longview and slower songs like when i come around.

same thing with insomniac (stuck with me, brain stew... fuck no ballad) and nimrod (nice guys finish last, hitchin a ride, time of your life)

  • Noting will ever beat Green Days first 5 albums, 39/Smooth, Kerplunk, Dookie, Insomniac and Nimrod

  • I love how the bass goes "dirnt dirnt dirnt"

  • Insomniac was the best GD album...

  • I love this song! One of my favorites on this album!

  • i love this song ! it´s really great !!!!

  • @DylanFrederickTV dookie is one of their 3 albums that are a bit commercial compairing 2 the rest i think. dookie is like american idiot n 21st cent. breakdown.

  • great song

  • @DylanFrederickTV Can´t say it´s the best ever, you can´t ever decide what band/album/song is the best. Some people have other tastes.

Dookie is my favorite albume ver though.

  • @villadavid4ever i prefer 1039 or kerplunk. cant decide which is better. 1039 got me through middle school and kerplunk always cheered me up when ever a chick dumped me.

  • @thedadam1 For me 1039 smoothed out slappy hours is just a bit better than kerplunk. Still like Kerplunk, ofc.

  • Is it bad that i like this album more then any other lol :D

  • Green Day rocks! And the best thing is this video has no dislikers!! YES!! :D

  • penis

  • people need to understand something. im only 14, and i love punk rock. who cares what age you are ? as long as you appreciate and understand the music, who the hell cares ?

  • This is like my favorite green day album. :)

  • Insomniac was actually the album that REALLY got me in to Greenday.- Dookie was good, but Insomniac won me over :)

  • @v11cu96 hell, all of them won me over! :D

  • alku <3

  • @BecauseIgothigh143 Ditto on armatage shanks! I blasted out the whole album real loud today to celebrate :) It was funny how I got into Green Day, my dad (an old first generation punk rocker) had Dookie and Insomniac, and I dug them up around the same time American Idiot came out, so I was blasting those three records out all the time - great soundtrack to growing up :)

  • @BecauseIgothigh143 Indeed it is, 15 years ago today (10th october) it was released :)

  • @BecauseIgothigh143 Couldn't agree with you more. So powerful was the AI story, I felt like I was the proverbial Jesus of Surburbia, I felt the alienation and desperation, that was how powerful the story was, married to kick-ass music. Then they collaborated with U2...and things have gone downhill from there...that's seriously the only explanation I can find for them going from awesome to dire in such a short space of time! Shame...ah well, I've got Insomniac on loud, happy 15th birthday! :)

  • @BecauseIgothigh143 Ditto on that! Most people love old Green Day but hate them since American Idiot - I actually loved American Idiot like hell, but 21st Century Breakdown was just the lamest record I've ever heard by a punk band. Oh, I know, let's recycle American Idiot but with everything a lot worse, and make it a concept album by randomly shouting out "gloria!" or "christian!" every so often in amongst stupid lyrics and loads of Pro Tools. Yeah, genius.

  • My favorite GD song EVER.

  • I DIDN'T KNOW THOSE SONGS... EVEN DON'T KNOW THAT ALBUM... GREEN DAY ROCKS..!!!!!!!

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • I luv that begenning!!

  • icant beleve theres only 43 veiwers

  • How the hell they were able to make songs that are SO addicting?!? I must have listened to this 25 times, one after the other.

  • its so sad that such a great band like green day, became total sell out faggots. Everything after warning is total garbage.

  • @sillyclownman One word for you sir

    FAGGOT!

You are truly an ignorant person.

  • @sillyclownman I couldn't agree more. This is genuine GD.

  • @sillyclownman

    You're garbage

  • @sillyclownman

you idiotic MORON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how could you say that about GREEN DAY!?!? no matter what Green Day will ALWAYS be the most AMAZING band in the whole universe. dude you know what? go eat crap. :) Billie Joe hates you.

  • @sillyclownman clowns are scary.

  • One of the best albums in punk rock. ever.

  • @villadavid4ever if not the best

  • @villadavid4ever

Because you've never listened to an actual punk rock album?

  • @guywholovesmovies

You're a fag. Why do you assholes label successful bands as "not punk"?

Punk Rock is a type of rock music. It doesn't matter how many under 13 years old fans you've got.

Insomniac is punk rock and anyways, you can't even know what I had listened to.

  • @villadavid4ever

Haha, look at you getting worked up. You're a fucking hypocrite, dude. It's fucking YouTube, dude. Who the fuck gives a shit about what I say? But it's cool. Your ignorance makes me laugh.

  • @guywholovesmovies

You're calling me an ignorant because I label Insomniac as punk? Then tell me, why the fuck do you think it isn't punk?

You're the fucking hypocrite, you're saying that their older albums aren't punk just because of their new ones.

  • @villadavid4ever

Haha, angry, are we? That's okay. People your age, 12-16 years old, are always filled with anger. I'm saying that Green Day's older albums aren't punk because they simply aren't punk rock. They're pop punk. Am I saying that makes them any less of a good album? No, not at all. I'm simply saying that they are too poppy to be punk rock. But it's okay, dude. Don't get angry just because you're a dumb ass who only listens to what's popular.

  • @guywholovesmovies

    Actually, I'm 8 years old.

Pop punk is a subgenre of punk, idiot..

And why listening to good music makes me a dumbass? I listen to many bands that aren't that popular.

And anyway, how is Insomniac poppy? It's way more heavier than what the Ramones and The Clash sang..

  • @villadavid4ever

Way to wait more than 15 minutes to respond to a comment, dude. God forbid you get away from the computer every once in a while. And did I say pop punk wasn't a subgenre of punk rock? No, I didn't, you ignorant fuck. And I like how those are the two fucking punk bands you name to try and have a defense. It's fucking YouTube, dude. Who gives a shit about who wins an "argument"? Shut the fuck up, and get off the computer. Read a book and get out of white fucking suburbia.

  • @guywholovesmovies if you weren't trying to win an argument why did you respond to his comment.

  • @guywholovesmovies You´re trying to be smart, eh? You said "I'm saying that Green Day's older albums aren't punk because they simply aren't punk rock" You´re an idiot. And what the fuck is your problem if I respond to your fucking comments so fast? You´re doing the same thing anyways. And if you don´t give a shit THEN WHY THE FUCK DO YOU KEEP ARGUING?

  • @villadavid4ever @villadavid4ever

Sorry to get between you guys (Giggity), but villadavid is right. They're to poppy to be considered "Real Punk". I'm not insulting them. Green Day are one of my favorite bands. But most of their albums sound more up beat then most other punk bands out there. But in my mind. Dookie and Warning are the only albums that sound "Pop-Punk". Insomniac. 1,039, Kerplunk, Nimrod. are more "heavy" for lack of a better word.

American Idiot and 21st CB are more alternative

  • @guywholovesmovies Not exactly. Their punk revival broski. If you ask me they don't sound poppy at all, they just have a really clean sound. Now Blink 182 is another story, their Definitely poppy! But Green day? Nahh..

  • @villadavid4ever WRONG. Insomiac is THE best punk rock album ever.

  • @MIvarsson99 this insomaic

  • @villadavid4ever Yeah, I agree. This album came out at a very pivotal time period for punk. In the wake of "Dookie", this album was less well recieved and thus a lot less appreciated, but it doesn't dimminish the value of this sound when it came to punk rock as a whole. I still challange "purist" punk rockers to give this album another go. While others may becry Green Day as "ruining punk rock", there weren't a lot of other bands that were as popular as Green Day that had the balls to deliver...

  • @villadavid4ever an album of this calibur of quality in the mainstream music scene. Granted, music in the mainstream seemed to be much more democratic in the nineties, but Green Day hasn't lost sight of their original roots since they've started. And they're awesome live. If anyone gets the chance to go and see them, please do. You won't be disappointed. It's money well-spent. :)

  • @TheTouristArrives Well no band forgets completely their roots. They can change enough to sound nothing like them, though

  • "Mom and dad dont look so hot these days but my futures looking good" :D

  • awesome song jake kepp up good work by the way i rated it 5 star and commented k bye babycakes

  • ok sexy cakes!
