  • Hey Chris, what happened to that old war surplus lathe you guys had?

  • @MrTurboturbine It's out on loan to another chapter. We loaned it out to keep it from sitting in a warehouse for a year when we moved. It will be back eventually.

  • in Chis Boden's house EVERYTHING is covered in Diamond Plate

  • it looks like your spraying a glowing rack!

  • You haven't got a lathe that can handle 6ft by 4inches?

Don't you handle that every day, taking a leak, eh? ;D

  • @Serostern Na, it's not nearly 6 feet; 2 and a half, tops.

  • Who says chuck norris isn't tidy?

  • The next geek group build should be a powder coating oven!

  • @BlitzKdotCOM Weren't they going to build a paint room next to the woodworking area?

  • Either .... powers proccess

  • *process not prowsess

  • i couldnt agree less on what you said at the start of the vid, the problem is that most of the time there are people and/or funds standing in your way from doing these things :/

  • I thought I was going to get to sleep by 1am. Then I found an hour and a half of videos from the weekend! Great stuff Chris. I want you to know that your videos are really the highlight of my day. It's a time to sit back, relax, and enjoy watching my favorite people being themselves. I have never met any of you, but I can honestly say that I love all of you. I look forward to each new video, and each days successes, and/or obstacles. You are all awesome people, and I respect you greatly!

  • If you want good enough looking ends on the pipe, put it on rollers so it can spin and use the side of an angle grinder. You may have to spin it up by hand, but it's amazing how "finished" this ends up looking. Very cool video.

  • Your loose and stressless style is just what is needed in companys, too often the workforce is stressed to hell because of bad management.

You dont treat your people like machines and dont expect them to be perfect so the result is better results and a workforce that wants to be with you :-)

And the odd bit of fun reduces any stress, smashing :-)

  • someone heard you over here saying "A whole lot of alcohol" and all i heard was "WOOOOOOOOO BOOZE!!!" Man im surrounded by alcoholics

  • Awesome Steady cam mount at 22:34 that must have cost alot.

  • The forklift could use a coat or two as well :)

  • Hello I'm Chris Boden and welcome to The Joy of Painting, now lest make some nice happy little trees

  • Depending on what you read, those railings may not be enough to keep you legal in that man basket, that addon... You guys need personal fall protection(harnesses, shock lanyards). Legalities aside, it's a damn fine idea.

  • Chris, is it necessary to remove old paint before covering it? The Ev my brother and I are building has a new roll cage on it, we are painting it basically the same color, but will prime everything first. Should we get rid of the old paint (will prolly require a bead blasting as it is a big vehicle)? Also we are bed-lining the floor (steel diamond plate) and the frame, should we do that first or just paint the whole thing then bedline? You are the paint master, and yes it is Rustoleum paint

  • He love's him his diamond plate,

  • 21:50 Such a MANLY pose, something I'd not have expected from her :D Well done!

  • Yay, a Captain's Blog on Sunday!
