does it blow hot air on your graphics card? because i know it sucks air from the top and bottom and lets it out through the sides, if so that could cause new problems while solving old ones :P
How well does it cool? I tried to get to 4.4gh on stock cooling (2.66 c stepping), but it reached 80 degrees. Yikes. Should I get this or opt for liquid? (must save a lil more) But damn, it's a sexy cooler.
I have the same Antec case and have found out that the Spin-Q VT that you have is not effectively cooling. Even at a low speed your getting 25-26 celcius. If you were to replace it with a Spin-Q (not the VT, but the one that mounts horizontal). You can cool your processor down to 20-21 celcius on Idle and 24-25 celcius while gaming.
This is because the Spin-Q VT mounted verticaly, alot of the air flow is blocked just by the side of the case. With the Spin-Q your air is not blocked and with the direction of air flow, you can force the air out the back of your case and in the long run cools your entire case. This also creates a direction that the air can flow.
@Darcin8or Not sure. I remember I was looking for a red lighted CPU cooler when I found this so I wasnt thinking of changing the light and never looked
i always sounds like it breaks. I HATE getting near my CPU. I took it out once and when i put it back in, it made a million cracking noises. Then i found out its supposed to do that.......
ive bought spinq vt and new case is on the way (aerocool pgs vx-e pro limited ed) but its only 196mm width (yours 206mm i think). can you help me and tell if theres a 10 - 11 mm space after you closed case??
thats a nice machine. Im looking at getting one of these coolers too. I think Im gonna have to cut a hole in the side of my case tho. ;) not that i mind, that fan looks gorgeous.
@jdfrye Have you thought about oc it a bit, would be interesting to see how much it can handle. Would love to buy one of these they look cool but a bit too expensive over here in New Zealand compared to other coolers
according to xbitlabs the new xigmatec s-1283 balder does a better job than this, but this one is so much more expensive.. on that note an hyper 212 still beats matches them all..
Lol at the end with the waranty void tag, what senselessness...
i have the i5 750 the only quad core i5 with a stock fan, i run up to 55'c max and idle 38 'c. My PSU is on the top though in my NZXT case. Do you have any clue if a fan like this would fit or if i should spend the money on something like this? thanks
i have replaced 3 motherboards + 2 cpu's and 4 diffrent Thermal paste and let me tell you i cut my self all over every time becose this the aluminium is so sharp :/
Nice! I have a "Red" theme CM Storm Scout that I used the CM Hyper 212 Plus HSF on. I used 2 Antec red tircools for push/pull. It looks like a 6" flamin' cube. I looked at the SpinQ VT, but went with the Hyper 212 after reading reviews. From your video, the SpinQ does a good job on cooling too.
Nicely Done!! The extra work you did with the paint and fan swap paid off.
yea man, I have this cooler, everything about it is perfect but the white "flag", it really sucks. I just don't understand Y they put the stupid warranty tag there!
ur case looks awsome! im looking to build my own computer :) but im getting the the antec 1200. are the fans that came with the case reliable? is the case sturdy? and dose that cooling fan cause any stress on the case or motherboard?? plz reply
@561inurface I have many friends that have many other cases but the the ANtec 900 and 1200 IMO are the best out there. The fans are very reliable. If you buy them seperatly they run $12 a pop. The ThermakeSpinq vt was super light. I was very worried about the weight on my motherboard as well but when I had it in my hands the worry disappeared ...Its super super light, Just looks like it would weigh a ton
iv got the same build antec 902, and baught the spin Q vt ,will be delivered in a week, but i'm worried cos u seem to have changed ur side panel after installing the heatsink ... i cant do that...how did u get a new one ?
